I have some great memories of growing up in the 80s and watching VHS tapes of footage like this with my mate when we were kids; he’d usually get a new one for Christmas and we’d spend hours watching them over and over again. 😊 Absolutely brilliant to see this and now I can share it with my own son. Thank you again 😊

It didn't have the facilities that some other tracks did but it provided great racing. My local track greatly missed.

Great drive by Smith, why he was the best

All the flames, popping and banging on overrun is amazing, it's the one thing that I miss with the modern F1's.

Thanks for sharing this, great to see F2 racing from this period. Looked like one of those ‘OK’ meetings, nothing spectacular, but brilliant to see the blue top taking the red in the final and then staying in front for the rest of the race.

Was a great fun track. Some fine old names lined up there. Remember once going there and seeing wolfie chase the pace car! Notice no fancy expensive tyres on , run what you got. I'd forgotten how fast Ainsworth was.

I used to finish work in Lincoln at 5pm on a Friday and drive like that up the A1 so I didn't miss a race (only joking).... many happy memories watching the competition between Super Stu, Wolfenden and Wainman to name a few. A million times more exciting than elite monaco grand prix racing.

Keith Stanford 33 shat himself in that final there after trying to plant Russ into the fence and realised he's right behind him.
