110. Ancient Wisdom in the Modern World with Satya
In this episode, we meet with Satya, a consciousness activist, who has been entirely dedicated to the expansion and evolution of human consciousness for 15 years. Throughout this time, she has facilitated retreats for over 60 000 people around the world, with profound processes of transformation. Satya is the founder of Working With Satya and of the Awareness Facilitator School, that is currently training facilitators with the method she has developed, uniting modern therapies with science, meditation and ancient wisdom.
She discusses the process of her work through a wide range of transformational processes, with a special focus on combining ancient rituals with contemporary therapeutic techniques. Satya shares how her personal healing journey, following sexual abuse, led her to discover the transformative power of Ayahuasca. Inspired by this experience, she became passionate about sharing this sacred medicine and supporting others on their own paths to healing.

I chose to start making my own CBD-infused oil as I realised that I didn't actually know what I was getting when purchasing online or in-store. It says on the label that it's full-spectrum, but full-spectrum of what? Some of what I've purchased seemed to be distinctly psychoactive. Somewhat concerning if you don't wish to feel stoned. Buying organically grown CBD flowers so that I can choose the CBD strength and its terpene content seems to be the best way to get what I want. I'm also very bothered by these super high-strength CBD oils. There's some implication that higher-strength formulations are better. I've met many people taking very high doses in the belief that more is better, and have little idea of the role and benefits of terpenes in cannabis oils. There's a definite education gap and CBD sellers and manufacturers aren't doing much if anything to change this.

I wonder does Dr Searle "bring two hats" to care for patients? Or perhaps a cognitive dissonance. How some one can be a medical cannabis prescriber on one hand, and a substance misuse physiatrist on the other is somewhat hard to grasp. The former trust she worked for is still treating cannabis users and prescribed patients as drug abusers and reuse to engage.

Can someone give me some hints about receptorial interactions of MDMA and 2CB? I seem to find no information about that in internet. They may be combined but I mean the tolerance, like doing MDMA one day and only 2CB the following day. They belong to the same molecular group so my logic says there must be some receptorial down-regulation, right? My first time trying 2cb was about 15mg, 24h after an 150microgramm LSD trip and that 15mg of 2cb had absolutely no effects. Tried the same pill a year later with naive receptors and it kicked ass so it wasn't the pill quality.... It's a pity that I wasn't aware of this LSD-2cb interaction :/ Has anybody experienced something like this?

There's a really well referenced response to this concern here (below). Without detracting from the urgency of the opioid crisis that Scotland is in the grips of, deaths from overdose started increasing sharply from 2014, whilst Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) was only introduced in 2018. This is not a major driver for the opioid crisis, which needs a separate, urgent response. www.alcohol-focus-scotland.org.uk/resources/briefing-on-mup-and-drug-use-aug-22-.pdf

This was an amazing talk. My partner had an ischemic stroke a couple of years before I met her about 8 years ago,she had her issues after the stroke, apashia, some speech issues ,memories lost etc,but after partaking in low level social psychedelic experimentation with myself, MDMA ,Pscilocibin, DMT, i too have had some amazing advances in my mind, different mindset etc...but she has come on leaps and bounds to the point where she has relatively no symptoms, even the aphasia has subsided so much, even the doctors were so surprised at this, whether this has been neurogenesis or something else, something profound has happened, and this happened over the space of a few months, more studies on this type of thing is definitely needed but there's definitely some amazing discoveries/medications to be found, keep up the great work 🙏

'Smoking' is not as stated what kills people, it is smoking tobacco, smoking per se isn't dangerous, the drug which is smoked is. There is no evidence that smoking cannabis anywhere in the world previous to the US enforced war on drugs, caused deaths, and nor is there evidence that the common practice of smoking herbs is also as toxic as smoking tobacco. Chewing tobacco, with no combustion involved, causes mouth and throat cancer, snuff [sniffing powdered tobacco] casues nasal & lunmg cancers. IT'S THE NiCOTINE THAT IS A CARCINOGEN, not the method. The reason why so many die from smoking tobacco is that there are many more smoking than by any other means, and of course it is better for them if they switch to vaping; the best method for this would be making vaping products available on the NHS, as part of the existing campaign available from GP surgeries. What clown in government thought disposable vapes with candy flavours was the way to go? For a start, the pollution of millions of these things disposed of in cities every day due for landfill, or more likely in rivers and the sea, at a time when we are supposed to be caring more for the environment is about as dim as the political class gets. It is also guaranteed to lead to millions of kids taking up vaping since it's made more attractive and easy than starting smoking. And like everything politicians get wrong, they are now trying to deal with the very much anticipated [by some] results. This person is clearly one of those who come at this from an opposition to smoking, which many have with no personal experience, and he assumes therefore that smoking is the danger rather than the nicotine. Herbalists have used smoking herbs for thousands of years, and cannabis users the world over have smoked the herb with no epidemics of cancer resulting for just as long. For lung infections it is cleearly the best form of application, direct to the site of infection. To allow legal handing out of a handy easy to use carcinogen stick to kids when there was already a problem of them starting smoking tobacco is nothing short of criminal negligence. I wonder how many politicians have shares in tobacco and vapourisers?
