Drug Science
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ต.ค. 2019
Drug Science exists to campaign for a more rational, evidence-based approach to drug policy and drug use. It is frustrating to say the least that still, in the 21st century, the debate on drugs, both legal and illegal, is coloured by political and moral concerns, and often ignores the evidence. Through this podcast, we hope to further contribute to raising the profile of science and lived experience in public discourse, providing information on the actual harms and potential benefits of various drugs, challenging the myths that surround classification and legislation, and exploring the societal impact of drug policy that does not reflect the truth about drugs.
119. American Politics vs Science with Zoe Cormier

She shares insight on the political situation in the US, with reference to recent elections and the potential impact this may have on future drug policy.

Shulgin did not report 30mg of 2cb as toxic! I'm curious as to how you arrived at that information?
Reminds me of me when I was abusing amphetamine. All the same, an interesting and polarizing interview
You all won that award in 1991 admit credit
Not a mention of Allan Parry who was the politician and advocate that made it happen internationally
Ok, so You Professor Nutt, brought the evidence about recreational drugs to the fore and now you seem to be supporting the rantings of this woman, clearly she hasnt listerned to any of the trial data from RFK's court cases especially how there is no clinical evidence for the wholesale vaccination of children, which Fauci finally had to admit, she is sadly misinformed and I doubt she would look at the evidence if it was presented.
Oh my, she's hilarious! I really loved this episode! ❤
Great episode, very mint! She's a good speaker as well. 👍😉 Too bad her book is apparently no longer in print, atleast in The Netherlands. Only second hand on A Libris. Just so you know.
I dropped LSD first (130Mcg) waited two hours and dropped MDMA (150mg).
😊I've been consuming dried gymnopilus leuteofola this fall. I like it! This stunningly beautiful MUSHROOM grows on dying trees, rotting logs and along with moderate amounts of psilocybin, other tryptamines it has significant amounts of KAVALACTONES. It's extremely bitter, that's why dried and powdered is best, alas one must wash down 2-4 palm full for full effect. I like it lots!😊
Legalise drugs
With you Julie. 🤘What iv had to do. Keep going girl 🙏
Waiting for the book to be published and wishing the longest life to Andrew 🩵
my best dosage & timing was LSD 300-350ug after 4.5 hours MDMA 250mg + 100mg after 1.5 hour at a DarkPsy Rave in the middle of a desert
Taking LSD after MDMA never made sense to me, surely it's making a long experience of LSD (12-15 hours) even longer. It makes more sense to me to take MDMA at the same time or some time after a psychedelic, or to take MDMA followed by a shorter acting psychedelic, like 2C-B.
Thats why their plan is to have us get rid of ourselves … like the Calhoun rat experiments. Hence cigarette ads only in certain neighborhoods, stores that sell “bootleg” unhealthy snacks and flavored drinks, for profit prisons owned by the same people who own record companies that promote a specific type of music. Ect … stay woke brothers and sisters! United we stand, divided we fall. Land of the free (white man) and the home of the brave (black women who have to watch their sons grow and survive this country.)

@@DrugScience Great, thank you! I look forward to listening to it
10g of mushroom dont cure my ocd 😢 i am road to the suicide
There has always been snobbery between users of different drugs of choice. Weed is natural so is good, pot-heads look down on users of 'unnatural' chemicals.. The drinkers don't like the dancing pill heads, who call ketamine a dirty horse tranqiliser. Mushrooms and acid are for afterparties, no-one likes the smackheads. UK meth is a gay sex party chem but in the USA its adulterated with fentanil and used in homeless tent cities...
On the meth use I know that's the stereotype but most users I know are middle class or blue collar workers who want more energy for their job.
True, people into cocane many a time look down on amphetamine. Drink, weed etc. Narcissism of small differences.
I had a serious bout of OCD in 2019, it was awful, it was dark. Never knew you could have a bout of it until i did. I have always had a touch of it. I kept reading the same story over and over, it was about a serial killer and i never usually delve into that kind of thing, it horrified me and i thought i was losing my mind, my family were no help, i told my therapist, she didn't exactly help either, i thought i would need to be hospitalized. If i forgot one part of the story, i had to read again. I was afraid of hearing someones name, because id have to look it up and learn all about them. I have been wanting an Aspergers diagnosis for years. I am Irish and its difficult to get one there. I'm living in Spain now. I have very strong interests, creative, not great socially, i'm quite lonely actually, so, there is a crowd here who're going to call me on Thursday.
I did try mushrooms before and it took away my insecurities, they came back a couple of months later.
Amazing. Thank you 🙏🏽
Was it the trauma of mums illness or the genetics?
I think it’s definitely the genetics and then the kind of nervous system she was given by those genetics from her mother and through that nervous system processing going through that in life- the combination perhaps. I think she’s discounting genetics too much here. But the point is it seems that Psychedelic therapy can really help with mental health regardless of the mechanism
David please come out of the chemical closet.
criminally underrated podcast. thank you so much for doing what you do. as a german i was super fascinated by normans book from the beginning. tweeking hitler at the olympics was too funny to be just a meme...
Most early ""fully synthetic"" opioids come from a Function on the Morphine Molecule. Like the Piperidine Ring with Pethidine & Fentanyl or Ethylene Bridge with Methadone. In my opinion that still seems semi-synthetic. Not Full.
I'm an alcoholic in recovery chucked the drink last April found mushrooms so beneficial at the start so continued growing em and it's mental for some reason highly illegal Wtf
real lack of knowledge about ketamine here but otherwise good information
I chose to start making my own CBD-infused oil as I realised that I didn't actually know what I was getting when purchasing online or in-store. It says on the label that it's full-spectrum, but full-spectrum of what? Some of what I've purchased seemed to be distinctly psychoactive. Somewhat concerning if you don't wish to feel stoned. Buying organically grown CBD flowers so that I can choose the CBD strength and its terpene content seems to be the best way to get what I want. I'm also very bothered by these super high-strength CBD oils. There's some implication that higher-strength formulations are better. I've met many people taking very high doses in the belief that more is better, and have little idea of the role and benefits of terpenes in cannabis oils. There's a definite education gap and CBD sellers and manufacturers aren't doing much if anything to change this.
I wonder does Dr Searle "bring two hats" to care for patients? Or perhaps a cognitive dissonance. How some one can be a medical cannabis prescriber on one hand, and a substance misuse physiatrist on the other is somewhat hard to grasp. The former trust she worked for is still treating cannabis users and prescribed patients as drug abusers and reuse to engage.
Such powerful and touching stories that I got goosebumps! Thank you, you smart, resourceful, brave, strong, and beautiful women for sharing ❤
Nice talk
Great point.
Can someone give me some hints about receptorial interactions of MDMA and 2CB? I seem to find no information about that in internet. They may be combined but I mean the tolerance, like doing MDMA one day and only 2CB the following day. They belong to the same molecular group so my logic says there must be some receptorial down-regulation, right? My first time trying 2cb was about 15mg, 24h after an 150microgramm LSD trip and that 15mg of 2cb had absolutely no effects. Tried the same pill a year later with naive receptors and it kicked ass so it wasn't the pill quality.... It's a pity that I wasn't aware of this LSD-2cb interaction :/ Has anybody experienced something like this?

Thank you so much for this episode! As Northern European my knowledge about kava was limited to what I'd seen on The Sims 4 Island Living DLC 😂 So this gave me lots of new information about kava and its cultural and social aspects.
I live in Auckland New Zealand and have experimented with DMT for over ten years. I want to participate in any and all psychedelic research that is open to the public.

boring lab to help you live your life in micro doses of a.i like jesus stuff lol
I have been depressed for a long time, but after taking mushrooms few months ago, l feel much happier and highly motivated and my ADHD gone , lost a ton of anxiousness and had a few epiphanies about how I should live my life. I decided to buy an ounce for backup, but haven’t yet felt the need to take any more since then.
I have autism, I was diagnosed with it when I was 15. I tried shrooms and it made me function so much better.
Eek I’m autistic too and might wanna try mushrooms. How do I go about it?
Yeah doc.brentttt is your guide. Man is exceptional with anything psychedelics.
Hello Can he be reached on IG?

Interesting. Wish there were more details... Quite a generic talk for such a specific interesting topic
Ketamine is ruining the "scene"
I disagree people ruin the scene, some of those people are on ketamine.
Price kept up in Scotland and it has reduced consumption but has it increased other drug use ?
There's a really well referenced response to this concern here (below). Without detracting from the urgency of the opioid crisis that Scotland is in the grips of, deaths from overdose started increasing sharply from 2014, whilst Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) was only introduced in 2018. This is not a major driver for the opioid crisis, which needs a separate, urgent response. www.alcohol-focus-scotland.org.uk/resources/briefing-on-mup-and-drug-use-aug-22-.pdf
Glad to find this
Hi Sir. I'm planning on doing a 3 day water fast and doing a D M T trip on the last day, looking to see how it changes the experience compared too the previous times I've done it without preperation. I would like some tips on how to document the experience.
