I really like the idea behind this. It leads to so many stories that could intertwine. Can the characters from each book walk out of their own and into another? I would love a sequel to this (I think Sumpter deserves a sequel too though)

I rewatched this after reading some of the analyses in the comments, and all the details hit much harder the second time through. The setting of the town under the giant, baggage-covered skeleton, sheltering people with small burdens. The woman relieving a child of his pack. Artemis's eyes as she promises to carry the beast's weight. The other pack animals they pass, which are so much bigger even than Artemis' friend... And the voiceacting as Artemis loses her composure at the end, plus the scene of her lifting the beast absolutely ripped my heart out twice. Amazing work. ❤

why didn't she just give him food? How could they get into an adventure without the first aid kit? Why did he go with her if these kind of adventures are that risky? Am I the only one who understands these basic flaws? Did you review your script? Do you show storyboards to your focus group? The animation is the second thing to look at, don't worry. The scale is inconsistent and sometimes doesn't look believable, for example I could never believe that that girl could lift that big of a bag. The only animations used are: 1. walk cycles 2. interpolations from A to B(blinking, water drops, waves, that girl turning, that head lifting, that hand rotating) 3. shaking (leg under pressure, rope under pressure, some faces) 4. others that are usually more advanced than walk cycles and some animations are looking... strange: 1. mother stopping her child by the backpack looks too floaty and smoothly, while it should be smooth motion->rough stop 2. when we can't see their legs they move left to right while moving forwards, but when we DO see their legs, their walk cycles don't have any of that. 3. The water drops from her face, but you never see the water falling onto her. 4. feet don't have fingers, somehow. 1:41 animation style on her head looks slightly different here, maybe rotoscoping? Sound design is good, but, sounds exist only on the things that the attention is drawn to and sometimes on the things that are visible. So sometimes it sounds like things don't make sounds. Yeah, you should be "too embarrassed after you graduated to upload it anywhere", because it has basic flaws.

People becoming monsters to help others? Is that the meaning of this.

I love everything about this! Especially the backgrounds, the visuals, the colors and the overall style all look so pretty!! I know how much effort and time it takes to produce stuff like this, and in such great quality too. I DEMAND THE ALGORITHM BOOST THIS BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART!

this is my thoughts on the story after watching it 8 times. It could be wrong because the video only shows a very small part of the world and it is difficult to see the whole picture with so little information. Sumpter is set in an alterative earth reality where people wear their emotional and mental baggage as real baggage on their backs. Some people have too much baggage to bear and they turn into Sumpter, giant monsters and beasts of burden that are no longer really human. You can see the old lady at 0:22 on the left, she has horns and claws for her hands. Artemis in the video is on an adventure to find the promised land to become her home. She befriends a monster (who used to be a human) who is about to give up. They go through the desert to a place that looks like japan to a mass graveyard where the monster is about to give up again but passes and continues to the sea or river, mountain. The monster finally can't take it anymore and collapses. The girl was so sad that she decided that Artemis decided to carry him and his burden on her shoulders. Because she had too much burden she started to turn into a sumpter, she at the end of the video could become like the guy at 0:24 or worse a full sumpter. She chose to carry the burden of the monster, she could have left the monster in the desert but that also meant she chose to forget about the monster. She could have carried the monster for a while but she had to leave the monster at some point because the more burden she carried the faster the process of turning into a sumpter would happen. Humans can't carry more burdens, they can share the burden with someone or throw away some of the burden. Too much burden can kill us in the real world let alone the burden in this world that actually exists in physical form and it can actually crush them. Monsters also wouldn't want artemis to become a sumpter, this would only make her more lonely. The burden she already carries is much more than a normal person and for monsters she is carrying a burden like the giant sumpter at 1:47. Can anyone tell me what the foot in the video means? I still don't understand what it means even after watching it many times. Artemis wants to find a suitable place to make a home and live a carefree life but hasn't she been to a few places with much better living conditions than the desert? Why does she keep going? This video and all haven academy have nothing to do with each other. I read the kickstarter page and a few chapters of all haven academy. This video is set in a world where burden is a tangible thing and everyone has to carry it. If this is connected then why don't the characters of all haven academy carry these burdens? and Artemis has found her home if the two worlds are one. Thanks Akiocha for creating this.
