Thanks for this backstage peek. 🤗 Love the extra visuals on the story home page & sub pages. I usually keep my Notion very minimal. But perhaps I could insert a pinterest board with an embedded link next... or just paste a printscreen of it in Notion. ; ) I noticed that you use tables in your character sheets. Which is faster if you use the template function for each new character... But, in case you have a big cast? It might be worth testing a template that uses an inline table view of a "character table" (you can filter that table on 1 character). So that you ALSO have the ability to see character info in one big table: and fill in what's missing for certain characters. And it helps with cross polination of ideas. A table like this does takes some setup time, but can be useful for things in your story where looking at info in 2 ways helps the creative process. Allover though... I use Word or Google Docs for most of my notes, because a fancy Notion is just, very high maintenance... Lol.😅

I just finished this book and it genuinely pissed me off reading it. So ridiculous. I only kept going because a friend was like “just keep reading! It gets so good” it didn’t get good. I totally understand your mood of being annoyed… because I feel the same way. I will give it that, it has made me feel something.

I liked it. I’ve read the classics and was a voracious reader all my life. Her writing is elegant and the story had depth and draws the reader into the cult world. It sags a little in the second half but I am sure that was deliberate to ramp up the tension. The one thing I might critique is the characters are not that different from each other but again, that’s kind of the point.

Also, the way I want to read project snowstorm now, aaaah it has all my fav tropes in it ☃

Aaaah as someone who's currently try to make Notion work for their writing, this could not have been timed better. Thank you for showing how you use it, I certainly got a few ideas on how to structure mine! 🤠

Oooh I love how you have all your projects set up in columns based on what stage they are in, that looks so cool! omg your spreadsheet trackers are all absolutely stunning! I love the idea of starting the year in september, that does work a lot better than january. I don't deal well with not getting enough sleep so I always feel absolutely miserable on the first of January, which is not the best way to start the year :/

I'm going to start counting sprints instead of words, too. So thanks for that advice! Also, I'm obsessed with your outfits. I haven't used instagram in ages, but I love the idea of working through your wardrobe and finding pieces that make you feel good. I've also been at home since the pandemic and recently found a job, and I'm finding myself bringing in new pieces here or there to accentuate my wardrobe but also make me feel good and more professional. I liked and subscibed. You're very talented in how you work so fast on your fine covers! I need AI MidJourney because I can't afford a designer and joined at the $20 level. I created a base image that will be book one of my trilogy and modifying that image, for continuity, with the other two books. It's too hard to get the same base image by describing it to the AI as it's never consistent. I was told I could do the lettering and image modifications all within MD but MD created my base image at only 96dpi and for KDP I need 300 and 2560 x 1600. Your very fast and I could see what you did but need to learn how you do it, but again that would be a more time-consuming how-to video to create. Any advice?

Lots of American books and shows feature underage drinking in bars. It’s also apart of reality. I dislike editors that confuses what they want to believe, with reality. Your voice is tainted with someone else’s biases.

I actually just did a video where I'm going to do something similar. I added all the projects I need to work on to a spinning wheel, and I'll be working in 25-minute blocks, and spinning the wheel to decide which I want to work on, and I'll either work on that project all day or until I've completed it (come to a stopping point). I'm testing this plan for the whole month of July to see how it works for me. Love that you use Notion to track projects and writing experiments.

I feel like starting and stopping tasks on different projects like this would drive me absolutely mad, but you made this experiment look so fun! I kinda want to try it, although I feel like it'd be boring with just two projects 😅 I also loved watching you figure out what the problem with the Art of Summoning Demons was and how you came to the conclusion of chapter length, that was really interesting to watch you work out

What helps me to choose projects nowadays is to figure out: what didn't work in my last story (fe in your space princess project)? And which new/other story I'm working on BEST allows me to practice this skill in a different story? (Fe your chapter length problem). Because you'll have more distance to that material and can really analyze a specific sub craft there, before you go back to space princess. -- Instead of choosing which project you 'feel like working on most', which is usually not a bad alternative either. But my option allows you to intentionally improve as a writer with each draft and story. And make every next story easier!! Double win. Yeah! That is why I love this technique. It has unlocked real writing speed for me! Maybe it helps. 😇 Good luck either way. Any form of writing is better than no writing. You got this! ✍️🍀📚
