Hyundai, Kia Engine Fire Settlement Announced
I at the dealership now and the part they’re replacing the valve with is the original so I pray this one isn’t defective. No matter what I’m going after the refund and free replacement if it reoccurs. Fingers crossed.
So do Mercedes owners have the same lawsuit? That’s the trans Nissan is using.
I have a 2016 Mazda CX-5 AWD, 2.5 L, Oil in driveway now, hope its not a issue with engine , I only have 211,000KM on it , the japanese made car should go 500K or more , not anymore
I’ve got a 2021 Nissan frontier with a nine speed. I had the update done not had a single problem.
mine fail in the opening tcv so I can drive local only.
I'm having the same problem with my 2024 Accord. Took it to the dealer and of course they said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Case was recently dismissed. Via a letter to impacted owners, Mazda has extended the warranty for the defective cylinder head/coolant leak to 10 years or 120,000 miles which ever occurs first. It includes any towing needed to schlep the car to the nearest Mazda dealer (good to know in case my car breaks down in the middle of who knows where 😂). Those who were previously denied warranty coverage can make a claim for reimbursement. No recall and replacement is involved, and no payment for any diminished value of the car. I'll be interested to know what the warranty repair entails. Is it a new engine or a 17 hour engine tear down to get to the part and then addressing the cylinder head flaw and $2.00 gasket. Mazda doesn't say. Mazda also doesn't give us any advice on what we can do to possibly prevent the problem. I would have expected more from Mazda.
Are you sure the extended warrenty covers the cracked cylinder head and not just the coolant control valve (thermostatic valve)
The 2023 Crosstrek Limited is not affected.
So assuming nothing came of this and there will be no help at all with the frames🤦🏽♂️smh
I’m mad as hell I will get justice that’s just how the fuck I am
Ford still cant make a decent product. Going to get a used Tundra instead.
I got new motor
I drove a rental Mazda cx5 and was not Really a fan. Ended up buying a Sportage Hybrid Sx Prestige and no Regrets so far.
My 2020 Terrain has small chips of paint that just come off out of the nowhere. I take really good care of my car and every time I see a new spot I angers me so much.
Not just the turbo engines. My 2018 cx5 2.5l is currently in the shop for this exact thing. The engine has never run hot or had any other issue. Now I'm left with a $5,600 bill!
What was the diagnosed problem?
Yea my Mazda cx9 engine blew because of this
Not one mention of who is affected... which models, which engines, which years. Useless video. Should have known as soon as I pressed play I should have just gone to MrSubars channel for a proper thorough explanation 🙄
Is the 2023 Crosstrek Limited with 18,500 miles affected?
The description of affected vehicles is very misleading, it is only the 2.5 engine, and is much broader range than 2019-21.
What the Hell is going on with Toyota “ stealerships “ not covering repairs and replacement of parts of the vehicle that aren’t a “ normal wear item ( tires, brake pads, wipers light bulbs etc ) the coolant By Pass valve should last the full life of the vehicle and is no5 listed in the owners manual as requiring service or replacement at certain mileage or time. Toyota is going to lose many of 5heir customers until they reel in these shady dealerships, and “ someone “ is telling them that this part is not to be covered under warranty. $600+ labour charges for something a Do it Yourselfer can typically do in 2 hours or less? I also hear from many affected owners that the stealer#hips charge a “diagnostic fee” between $100-$200. This part failing in pretty much if not every vehicle is not the customers fault. Just like the frequent issues with Toyota vehicle’s infotainment screen going* through a constant reboot cycle. Toyota hasn’t stood behind this issue even though it’s been happening to vehicles for at least the last 6 years. Charging people $2000- I’ve heard as high as $7000 to replace the unit is pretty much criminal especially because many stealerships seem to have been told to do anything possible t9 not replac3 5he head unit until they reel in vehicle is pas5 the warranty period.
Mazda has made this right 10 year 120,000 mile extended warranty if your car is affected.
I have a 2023 Titan platinum reserve with 8090 miles. When accelerating from a stop at about 10 mph the engine would rev up like i had my accelerator to the floor and the truck was ‘t gai i g any speed until i shifted to neutral. It did this three or four times. I had it towed to the dealer. They don’t know what the issue is. They have a call into Nissan to see if they know. Still waiting ti hear from them
The job was a pretty easy diy on my 2021 Corolla hatchback 6mt. I still want my $140 back for the part and a bottle of coolant. 😂
I need to know, did you replace it with an OEM Toyota replacement valve. Or an off market. I have a 2020 Corolla LE.
@Whatdoyouthink.687, OEM replacement. I'd stay away from the aftermarket. Most require modifications to secure the lines. If you diy, do yourself a favor and buy a 2 dollar pick tool at Harbor Freight and put down a towel under the old bypass valve before you pull to disconnect the top and bottom lines.
@@robme3660 Thanks a lot for the info. I hope you get at least your $140.00 back. Should get $1000.00 for the inconvenience.
The new 2025 Forester went back to a thermostat which tells me the replacement TCV is no good.
Time will tell, but the attorneys handling the case tell me it has an updated design.
They realized their design error because of the financial burden of the failure of the overly complicated crap. Simpler is always better if it fits the same function.
Bought brand new 2022 Honda Civic LX and this morning turned on my car couldn't turn the steering wheel at all. Meanwhile my dash board is giving me all kinds of warnings. Thank God it all happened while parked and not in the middle of the highway!!
2:03 Thanks for the info. Good to know the 2024 Toyota RAV4 isn't impacted.
@@miller1 Um who said the 2024 is not affected? The lawsuit has been going on for a while now and at the time it was initiated the 2024s weren’t affected yet because the problem usually happens between 30,000 to 50,000 miles ( 50,000 to 80,000 kilometres) even now in December 2024 there aren’t a lot of 2024s that have over 39,000 miles on them already.
The nissan hate won't stop the movement
told these scammers ill see them in court🤣🤣
Good man!
ONE MORE PISS POUR PRODUCT FOR I AM CONSUMER
Dont buy Turbos. My 2014 non turbo will go 500K miles, so many out there with 300k-400k
with a tune? XD
@@tatebarnum731 a tune.....lol. Oh its in tune all right
Is this lawsuit in British Columbia too?
It is not, sorry.
Our 2016 GMC Yukon hood really deteriorated this summer.
Ok. I have a 23 Meridian with 54k. Been at the dealer for a month. First they fixed the fuel injector. Now it’s back and they are replacing the exhaust manifold and the service department is being very withholding on why.
Because your getting robbed, thats why.
Which models have the issue
2017 Yukon Denali Black. By 2020 showed paint issues. Had areas affected repainted at a 50/50 cost between GM and myself February 2021. 2 1/2 years later same issue again with the paint. Recently within the past two month, and after contacting GM with a case, GM declines to offer any support. This is unbelievable......
Going through this now. Third time Subaru owner but looking at what to trade in for. My Outback only has 21 k miles.Popped windshield for no reason, now this TCV nightmare. I will get rid of this one as fast as I can. Done with Subaru. They have really gone downhill. My first one lasted 16 years with no major repairs. What happened to Subaru??
It’s unfortunate to hear this, but understand your frustration.
Just traded in my Outback for a Lexus. No more Subarus for me.
Im experiencing this on my 23 crv it feels like it sticks
Mine failed open, thankfully. CEL came on.
This seems like a cool technology, but it's not gonna help much fighting climate change. It's been proven that EVs use way less energy than hydrogen-powered cars, by a factor of three. So it's all very nice that this Toyota experimental car sucks a tiny bit of CO2 from the atmosphere -- a better strategy would be to build affordable electric vehicles.
I got the TCV replaced by my mechanic. Subaru says they will not reimburse me even though I fully qualify for the warranty. Horrible company. Will keep a close eye on this class action lawsuit so I can be made whole when Subaru pays out
It has to fail and you must be under the warranty period and it has to be fixed by a dealership.
Contact Subaru of America. What year is your car? There's a 15 YR/150K mile warranty on the TCVs for most '19-21 (I think) models.
Good luck finding another brand in any consumer goods category that'll honour the cost of a repair after the fact, not done within their network of repairers.
I wanted to design a compressed air powered hybrid with carbor pollution capture to power compressors to refill air compressor tanks as it drives to power the engine with cold compressed air reducing global heating
Turn pollution into energy for cars carbon can be captured by specially engineered paint into compressors and condensers and turns it into a fuel
I own a 2019 Forester. In spring 2024 I received a letter from Subaru increasing the warranty on TCV to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
Hi. Are u able to send me a copie of that letter? My local Subaru doesn’t wanna help me at all.
@@eliascastillo9274 Where would I send it?Do you have an email address? This is Subaru Canada, may be different if you are not in Canada.
I’m at the dealership now with my 22 Frontier to check out some of these same issues. But it not a pronounced or severe as this video seems. I am intrigued as to what they have to say. I’m going to order my new transmission filter and oil kit and do the service myself.
There is a update to the software that off road vlogers have had done. They said the problem wasnt that severe and the new update fixed it,
Im having this problem with my 2023 Honda civic sport
The TCV on my 2019 Forester was just replace on Oct 23, 2024 under warranty but the Scarborough Subaru (in Toronto) insisted in charging me 30 min labour b/c they said the PCM needed to be re-programmed after the TCV is replaced. I took this issue up to Subaru Canada and it is being looked into. I know for a fact that people with TCV issue had it replaced free of charge and did not need to pay for this labour earlier.
yet another black eye for Honda. Not a good look Honda pull up your socks and smarten up before we start calling you Ford or the new toyota who are plagued with nothing but problems.
Honda HRV has the same problem.
Got a yellow letter that gives me a Record ID and mentions “neglecting to activate coverage.” I bought this car used so I thought it was odd. It’s been over a year since I’ve owned it too with no letter or mention. Working in an automotive shop, most warranties often expire if you’re not the original owner anyways. So this is definitely a scam.
Hello fron Turkey. I have same problem on my 2021 civic 11th generation. Honda service changed steering wheel system 6 months ago. But the problem was started again. This is ridiciolus.
