6:16 I too speak with down raw'd inflection.
You mention these obvious things without explaining why. our assumptions don't come from nothing. for example, why do you think lower pitch leads people to assume more authority and trustworthiness? which half of the population has typically deeper voice? why are high pitched and soft voices seen as less credible? despite the fact that it's just somebody's natural voice and has nothing to do with their capabilities? the same goes for vocabulary, speed, which are affected by level of education (directly tied to money) and speech impediments or other disabilities. it's crazy how much these biases affect our perception of other people without us realizing.
there is no explaination cuz science is not advanced enough to explain it.
@@QWERTY-gp8fd it is, actually. you can just google the subject and you will find hundreds of papers
Try arguing with The Mask. With high tone, comes great respen... Respan... Sibibility.
Problem is that most folks with whom Ah've conversed seem to be impatient and ne listen to everything Ah say despite their asking questions
The first point, is that why ppl tend to listen to men more than women? Or is it just patriarchal
You sound like a teen trying to make his voice deeper, I'm pretty sure it turns out to be counterproductive. Great vid tho
The video is well made, *AND* the wiggle effect made me feel *VERY COZY, I LIKED IT*. The background music is also *VERY NICE* *(but you should ensure that the volume of the background music should never surpass that of your voice)*. *THOSE 2 THINGS AND* everything else is on point. Your pacing, voice, and presentation is perfect. You will go far in youtube bro, I subscribed. *👍*
thanks for the informative video i like i like :))
As someone who has a low pitched voice, I don't feel that I am showing confidence. People can't hear me that much which makes me have to raise my voice all the time and it's annoying sometimes when I have to repeat myself.
Am I the only one who hates having a deep voice? I don’t perceive high voices as insecure at all I find it nice
What about, GANG, HOMIES, SUCKMAD
Bro is sounds soo familiar 👀
...unless BRO IS DARK NEEDLE 👀💀?
My dad is from Mexico, mom is from my town but has spanish lineage. So I speak English and Spanish, yet, I grew up watching a lot of TV so I feel I speak how most do on television. Also, have lived in my town my entire 45 years of life.. yet most people ask me where I'm from because I don't sound like everyone in this city.. and they also all assume I'm caucasian 😮 shrugs
Valuable vid keep going - at this rate, with genuine content, you'll do well on yt
I appreciate that!
Speech Disability is such a Huge Nerf being perceived as less and getting less Opportunities for this Reason. Another one is the Accent can come with stigmas that can negatively impact you being seen as less Educated .... Thanks for this Video as a Person with Speech Disability
I'm autistic but I'm not that autistic that I didn't already intuit this stuff lol
Keep up the work g

Was this written by ai?
Lisps and vocal fry trigger my misophonia and I'm always afraid it shows on my face. And of course too many fillers (I've counted 20 "ums" in a minute in a Zoom call!) and slow speech will rapidly decrease my patience. I've had to consciously reduce my fillers and I still have a bad "like" overusage I'm still working on. But I don't like when people think you should just speak however is most natural to you in any context. That would be nice but that's not how human brains work
I’ve picked up on how people who speak with a lisp or speech impediment are almost instantly categorized as being developmentally delayed, though more often than not, that’s the only thing that is off about the way they express themselves with nothing else suggesting that they are. The speech impediment can affect so so much
I'm fairly certain the I have a subtle lisp, I struggle pronouncing words with the letter S and that struggle entangles itself with other words I pronounce after saying that formidable S word. This has caused people to talk to me like I'm a toddler using higher pitched speech. It also doesn't help the fact that I'm a ginger who are stereotyped as being idiotic.
@@jonathancobb3522the smartest person I ever met is a ginger. Don't allow other's opinions to impact how you view yourself. You know how intelligent you are. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, and every one of us has something unique to share with the world. Find your purpose in life and ignore anyone who tries to push you away from your goals.
Is hood language and slang considered as laid back language
Yeah, and can also invoke implicit biases embedded in racism. You'll notice a shit ton of comments on social media trying to correct AAVE (African American vernacular English) because it gets on people's nerves-the reason being is it's attributed with poor, "ghetto" Black people, and so by voicing one's annoyance with it, they also perpetuate the racism. So correcting AAVE can be seen as microaggressions by some
@@saltiestsiren so your saying we should all be ghetto to not be racist?
@@saltiestsiren i am from India and I am quite bored of learning formal English but when I watch hood english I found it interesting I watch his videos continuously without even noticing the time what should I do should I learn formal or hood

Great video! You can't probably see this information anywhere else structured so concise yet educational. I think parasitic words also make an impact on other people's perception. Using "like", "here", "well", "in general", "obviously", you know" etc. too often will make you sound anxious, informal or not taking something seriously depending on your tone and pace.
is this dark needle alt account?
hm I wonder

why do you speak like dark needle?
Fact
12 reasons why for real
The way that you speak in this video immediately gives the impression that you really care how you're perceived by others. XD
everyone should, not sure if you meant it as an insult but you come along as very shallow.
@@lrfy Heh. Hehehe. You threw this right over the plate, you've only yourself to blame. Ahem. "Annnd, the way YOU speak gives the impression that you're very insecure and self-conscious about it." XD
@@lrfyI can think of several scenarios where you shouldn't
Everyone cares, to an extent, how they are perceived by others
Your words conclude that you really care that you're perceived as "ironic and chill", but your "XD" shows that you're anxious about perception.
Ur gonna go far
