    You mention these obvious things without explaining why. our assumptions don't come from nothing. for example, why do you think lower pitch leads people to assume more authority and trustworthiness? which half of the population has typically deeper voice? why are high pitched and soft voices seen as less credible? despite the fact that it's just somebody's natural voice and has nothing to do with their capabilities? the same goes for vocabulary, speed, which are affected by level of education (directly tied to money) and speech impediments or other disabilities. it's crazy how much these biases affect our perception of other people without us realizing.

The background music is also *VERY NICE* *(but you should ensure that the volume of the background music should never surpass that of your voice)*. *THOSE 2 THINGS AND* everything else is on point. As someone who has a low pitched voice, I don't feel that I am showing confidence. People can't hear me that much which makes me have to raise my voice all the time and it's annoying sometimes when I have to repeat myself.

    Lisps and vocal fry trigger my misophonia and I'm always afraid it shows on my face. And of course too many fillers (I've counted 20 "ums" in a minute in a Zoom call!) and slow speech will rapidly decrease my patience. I've had to consciously reduce my fillers and I still have a bad "like" overusage I'm still working on. But I don't like when people think you should just speak however is most natural to you in any context. That would be nice but that's not how human brains work

  • @thebedroomshow9010
    @thebedroomshow9010 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I’ve picked up on how people who speak with a lisp or speech impediment are almost instantly categorized as being developmentally delayed, though more often than not, that’s the only thing that is off about the way they express themselves with nothing else suggesting that they are. The speech impediment can affect so so much

    • @jonathancobb3522
      @jonathancobb3522 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I'm fairly certain the I have a subtle lisp, I struggle pronouncing words with the letter S and that struggle entangles itself with other words I pronounce after saying that formidable S word. This has caused people to talk to me like I'm a toddler using higher pitched speech. It also doesn't help the fact that I'm a ginger who are stereotyped as being idiotic.

    • @saltiestsiren
      @saltiestsiren 18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, and can also invoke implicit biases embedded in racism. You'll notice a shit ton of comments on social media trying to correct AAVE (African American vernacular English) because it gets on people's nerves-the reason being is it's attributed with poor, "ghetto" Black people, and so by voicing one's annoyance with it, they also perpetuate the racism. So correcting AAVE can be seen as microaggressions by some
