He never mentioned the Burns guitars that they used in the early days.
THAT GUITAR IS COOL AS HELL 🎉
Hanks the best and you cart beat is sound
Perfect
No mention of his Burns guitars? Loved Hank's "French tone" at the end.
The shadows were the original poster band for Vox amplifiers, appearing in many of their early advertising materials.. They were also the first British band to write many of their own songs and songs for cliff as well
AB’s Legend
Gibson Sonomatic medium gauge E-340 strings were gauged 13 / 17 / 26w / 36 / 46 / 56. Definitely not starting with a 12. In the seond half of the 1960s, Gibson competed with a rock'n'roll set (starting with a 9) and also a light gauge Sonomatic set which ran 11 / 12 / 22w / 32 / 42 / 52. Hank stated in a Melody Maker reply (c. 1969 / 1970) that he was using E-340s on one of his Burns guitars and E-340Ls on the other, though he added that he was "experimenting" with Fender Rock'n'Roll strings as well.
I always used non weighted i find it difficult using weighted
I'd like to know why Jim Burns' guitars were never mentioned... Did Hank Marvin become a shill for Fender???
Turn it up to metal ..and see if it can really handle sound!,,
Excellent guitar, I've been eyeing a used one for the past three weeks. Just don't have the cash.
My old dad, never a musician, said Hank could make a guitar sound like it was speaking. As Hank says around 4 minutes. We sat behind the band at Hexagon Reading Berkshire years ago. A novel experience.
When did they add a selector switch? Did they change those pots from volume to tone? Mine is basically three volume knobs. One for each pickup, and a master. What's your signal chain? Souns great.
2:05
How much sir
Have two Maton acoustics and an MS520. They make me sound a better guitarist than I am. Did't like the tininess of the standard strings but with EB Aluminums it sounds phenomenal.
With all the great entry level and intermediate instruments,at reasonable prices, why take a chance on someone else's junk?
What an absolutely beautiful sounding & looking guitar. And in the hands of a very capable musician too, which of course helps immensely. well done Sir.
Small hands and long fingers - that must be the secret of clean playing
Yes If you buy a new guitar it should look like a new guitar. What is the point of making a guitar look old? I Agree with Hank
Love mine. From BB blues to Sco-jazz fusion, from Marr to Lifeson it delivers the goods.
More power to you Hank, you will always be in our hearts and your instrumental music like APACHE- THE BEST EVER.
When he was in his 16 or 17, he looks like my hubby, i admired Hank for his stunning playing of his guitar. HE IS A GREAT GUITARIST. INCOMPARABLE ONE.
What about The Shadows Burns Guitars?
Nicely helpful. Thank you.
You work in a music store, you can't even mic a video and record an instrument properly??
Just a hot a pak
Sounds to me like Strats need a lot of modifications, Although they sound brilliant
Hi sir, I visited your TH-cam channel. Your video content is awesome. But your video views are very less. This is because your video seo score is very low. If you video seo score 90 plus then views and subs will increase greatly. will go I am youtube video seo expert. If you want to do video seo for your channel then you can hire me. Thanks
0:26 but what about Willie Nelson's guitar? It's pretty rough.
No nonsense, straight to the point. Great video. Thanks.
My brother Hank
Ouch…I was always taught not to lay the horn on its left side with the table and palm keys bearing the weight of the horn on them…that’s why there are key guards on the right! Otherwise, great tips!
Love his version of Mystery Train
So interesting...a unique sound...a sound with a history. Thanks so much.
Great buying tips. Would you suggest having a sax repair person lined up before the purchase or is that something you can find fairly easily in most major towns in the US?
I find myself getting overwhelmed with the amount of knobs and options, to be honest. Wonderful guitars tho
Touring Australia back in 1984 with a name UK artist, I was lucky enough to meet Hank in Sydney, and we shared an Indian meal together near the (now gone) Sebel Town House. He was every bit as much of a perfect gentleman as you'd expect - graciously answering questions about the Shads and Strats which he must have done a mililon times. What a hero.
Excellent sound and technique !
It hurts my soul that you didn't say the full name of the keyboards you were playing on.
Hank's greatest moment was when John Hill of Fender USA opened the first Artist Relations Centre in the world in Kensington London near Jimmy Page and also Steve Hackett's houses and to celebrate the start of the new Post-CBS era he had a clone of the Cliff Richard EMI 59 Strat made as the first Post CBS Strat ever and presented it to Hank with Bill Schultz, Dan Smith and some guests Hill invited such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Pete Townshend, Steve Howe, Steve Hackett, Alan Murphy, Richard Thompson and others all dropping in to give Hank a good send off to make Australia his home in 1985
And great demo.
Great sound.
What size is the glass one? looks perfect & sounds great
Porque falam muito pouco sobre esse guitarrista, um dos melhores instrumentista da época, hoje não tem mais pessoas que toca assim, hoje é muita porcaria nas rádios e nos programas não dá nem pra ouvir
This man is my new favorite bass player. Thanks for profiling him!👍
Great video, just what I was hoping to find. Thanks for the cloth trick especially
Ser mrp ples
This audio sounds like I've got cotton wool shoved in my ears. Really painful to listen to.
