Land Rover LR4 spare mount repair
มุมมอง 15K7 ปีที่แล้ว
LR4 spare cable mount repair. It was binding internally.
DIY Peterbilt alignment
มุมมอง 7K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Was having a wear issue. Took a common sense approach to adjusting the toe angle on the steer axle.
Land Rover LR4 A/C compressor removal
มุมมอง 26K7 ปีที่แล้ว
I had an issue with the A/C cooling poorly at a stop or in traffic. Temp would spike from 50*F to 85*F rather quickly. Had it checked, gauges gave reading that did not warrant any issue in system. Had it evac'd, flushed recharged with no change in performance. Had it evac'd again and changed the expansion valve under dash. Vacuumed and recharged with no improvement. Decided to swap the compress...
Peterbilt 379 Fuel line Return Flow Splitter
มุมมอง 44K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Return flow splitter was leaking. I thought it was at the threaded line connections. Turns out it was the splitter body itself. Took it apart. It houses a check door, spring and a rectangular rubber gasket. Cleaned the mating faces up and applied thin line of gasket maker to the outer perimeter of original gasket. Allowed gasket maker to dry a bit. Went along and hand tighten the 5/16 head bolts...
Peterbilt 379 cab blower motor fix
มุมมอง 43K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Blower fan motor was hanging up in between switched on/off cycles. If i removed the gauge panel and tapped on housing, it would start spinning again. Took it apart, filed down the grooves, filed the brushes. Works fine now.
Galaxy 94HP CB Radio RoadKing 56
มุมมอง 2868 ปีที่แล้ว
Early morning market delivery. My son working the old Galaxy 94HP. RoadKing mic. Striker whip. It is a really good cb radio. Knobs are in similar setup as the old Galaxy 66. Purchased and modified by Bells CB out of Florida.
When I boxed up it did not work ! Why ?
Appreciate your support always ❤❤
How the winch is working? Because when I opened it I found the screw pin did not move the black plastic wheel ?
Then perhaps that plastic gear had it teeth worn out. I have not had to lower the spare since I made this video.
@@halfmoon5022 what is the solution ?
If you already have it apart, look to see if that is the issue. If so, weld some cogs/teeth to the metal teardrop piece so that it engages the plastic spool section. Cogs with enough strength to hold the cable. Or, you can go to the yunkyard or ebay.
I just looked em up on ebay. $40
Did you have to disconnect any coolant lines during this job?
No
@@halfmoon5022 Cool thanks, I'm hoping to get mine swapped this weekend. Did you need any special tools or anything or was it all pretty straight forward?
Someone stated in another comment that I failed to mention another mounting bolt. I do not recall. I wiggled and jiggled that puppy out of there. Same going back in. The compressor I used was off of another LR4 from some salvage yard with low miles. I did have a shop evac and recharge the system.
Excellent thank you
Is that mudduck in the desert
I know this is 6 yrs old but for those who don’t know , 2024, LR put out a service bulletin advising not to use power tools to wind the spare wheel in the up position because the cable would get tangled.
This motor finally gave up the ghost. Dang
This is not the 2.7 v6 it looks like. So totally different ballgame 😅
5.0 V8
Did your tire last a while after? I am thinking about doing same.
Yes. I have not moved it since then. You could probably be better off using a solid toe bar which you could engineer out of anything.
This was therapeutic. Almost same scenario I'm dealing with. Wife brought home car from shop where guy claimed it "was broken." Yeah right buddy... we all know who broke it
Good video thank you
Master alignment technician!? 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve removed the ac from the car with allot of work ! Holy shit
What's the valve on top of that one called?
Looks like "Tee fuel supply" 11-04011
@@halfmoon5022 thank you!
Ten4
Splitter fuel valve they are the same one for Drawing fuel and one for returning fuel
I did the same with mine (Discovery 4) when I winch the wheel backup, I can keep turning the winder handle, is this normal?
Not certain. It.is supposed to tighten once the tire meets the surface.
Fuck, that was painful to watch. Man, what happened to you? Why are you so bitter?
Because he's sick of dealing with incompetent people who don't own up to their mistakes
I just did this job and managed to get the compressor out as described. Takes about 6 hours. I removed the plastic inner guard which made things easier to access but still a tricky job. Many thanks for the video it saved me a ton of time!
Thanks for sharing about how to fix the winch. I just replaced it with the newer model.
How you did the rear bolt?? I’m stuck there.
I believe I approached it through the fenderwell with long extensions.
Did you have leveling problems?
No, I did not.
i do not know how you got it out, i,ve tried 3 days,, what things did you disconnect, wheel inner liner, battery aux box , what else thanks, I am one handed
I got it out through the bottom. Not sure if you have already removed the front lower rock shield. It is a metal shield held up by two 1/2 inch bolts and two 10mm bolts. If the compressor is completely loose, it will drop down. Then you will have to guide it past all of the hoses, etc. I did not have to remove any motor related parts. I did remove the wheel in order to access the pressure lines with a ratchet and a few extensions. All bolts came loose relatively easy.
@@halfmoon5022 thanking you, yes all guards are off, did you take out the power steering pump? mine is L4 TDV6, YES YOUR IS A GAS ENGINE THE TDV6 has turbo pipes in the way
@@halfmoon5022 studio.th-cam.com/users/videolPg_CApr3AA/edit mine is turbo
@@stuarthearn9890 yes, mine is the v8.
You could use a fish hook on a stick.
Yeah I don't like using any kind of silicone around fuel parts been known to plug up a little port
Do you have the part number for the actuator?
FUG500010 is the number that we referenced. Not certain if this fits all models.
Hi. This way only replace Crutch?
No. I replaced the entire compressor with an O.E.M compressor off of a wrecked LR4.
HalfMoon Is it possible to replace the clutch without removing any other parts?
@@kimsungsik58 You can certainly try if you believe the clutch is the culprit. These compressors are variable output type setups. If I am not mistaken, the clutch is always engaged. I had found the compressor for cheap so I just replaced it.
HalfMoon The compressor is clear. Clutch noise, so it's hard to get access to replace it. Thank you.
@@kimsungsik58 Perhaps wrench loose the center bolt from clutch. Then remove belt from pulley. Then try to pry clutch loose from compressor. If clutch does loosen, then you can unbolt compressor from block and perhaps gain some clearance w/o having to remove the service lines.
“Just don’t break anything or your wife will be mad” - classic chirp! Thanks for the vid
Pro tip : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Gregory Axton Yup, have been watching on flixzone for since november myself =)
@Gregory Axton definitely, I've been watching on flixzone for since november myself :D
Hi -can you confirm you managed to get the compressor out and the new one installed without any other disassembly?
Correct. 1st get the system's freon evacuated properly/professionally etc. I used an OEM compressor off of a wrecked LR4 from a salvage yard. I used a regular ratchet on the belt tensioner and moved the belt to the side. Do draw a diagram of the belt orientation if you plan to replace the belt. My Lr4 does not depict any diagram under the hood. Be certain to capture orientation of o-rings as well. I did also pour out the oil in compressor and replaced with new oil. I do not recall type of oil nor capacity. I found that info off of a L.Rover site. Once all buttoned up, put a goooood vacuum on the system.
Thank you for sharing your repair of this item. I have just completed the repair on my 2008 Disco. Having drilled out the rivets, and not having a functioning welder, I was able to keep the two parts together while attaching to the car. The four 10mm nuts keep everything secure. Thanks again!
Awesome! Great job as well!
Nice, where is Blowers located?
On the 379, cab blower and resistor are behind glovebox. Bunk blower and resistor are under the mattress plywood to passenger side.
@@halfmoon5022 driver side
excellent video and explanation. You are the Man. My Chevy Trailblazer had the same issue, but the case is Plastic and Riveted.Cable bound up and came out of the plastic case like a hernia. I used a grinder to cut the bottom bracket holding the tire at the end of the cable. think I'll just keep the spare on the roof.
Thank you very much! Awesome.
How did you get to the expansion valve?
Yes. I had to lay on the floor board on the driver side and look under the dash kinda in the direction to the center. The high and low side run into the firewall inside the engine compartment. That is the general direction of the expansion valve/block. I swapped expansion valves prior to swapping compressor. The exp valve has an insulation cover/material. I am not certain of the size of the allen bolt that secures valve to evaporator lines.
@@halfmoon5022 this will be my afternoon in addition to the condenser
Yes. You will almost have to do it by "feel". I bought the condensor, yet, the fittings were just a tad off spec. I ended up having to reuse the original.
The condensor is next to the passenger front head light grill area.
Idk
It’s $25 for a new valve ....lol Change it
DANGGGGG. I Would have but I was out away from any parts joint. It hasn't leaked since I recorded the video. Plussss I didn't have to uncouple all of them damn lines. I will try to find one for $25 and throw it in the spare parts box for the next time it leaks.
I am worried that straightening the cable may have fatigued it a little.
Yes, holding just fine.
Excellent! Thank you!! I performed the exact same fix. Is yours still holding?
Yes. I have only had to lower it once. I used regular ratchet and socket in order to lower spare.
@@halfmoon5022 thanks very much for putting this video on here, I’m going to try and fix mine the same way. Thanks half moon 👍
There is also a bolt in the rear of the compressor holding it to the block that is a P.I.T.A
Thanks for showing.
Mine does the same thing hopefully it get better after this thanks
did it work? That's the question!
m4drx Absolutely thank goodness. The compressor I bought was an OEM off of a low mileage LR4 that was wrecked. It blows super cold.
WHERE IS LOCATED?I'VE GOT A 2009 386 AND MINE STOPPED WORKING....THANKS
only one way Mine was behind the glove box.
Thanks but I found it myself..... Was very easy to remove and install back ....
love your coment about could be fishingb, the fuckwitts at thetyre place buggered mine as well with a rattle gun
thanks dude. that fixed mine too. saved me $150 for a little while. God bless
Sling Shot Awesome! The fan is actually still working. My bunk fan wen out and was beyond help. I found the motor for $85 new(no fan) at tge Peterbilt in Waco,Tx. Good Luck!
thanks man
Nice but you didn't show us if it actually worked lol. Good job though bro
Joshua Sarrazola It works no doubt. It was going to have to work regardless. Basically because I had already guaranteeeeed my wife that I could fix it, and well, you know how them guarantees go.
HalfMoon that's good. We lowered the tire one time and it stopped working on my wife's range. I took it off but I am no welder. I am going to look into seeing how much it would cost to fix it verses replacing it.
Great video!
