remembering when i got a job on the Easterhouse buses in the sixties,i was about nineteen,i didn’t know up till then about how many people lived there,it was quite an experience as a bus conductress on the green buses going from Easterhouse to Glasgow or Parkhead, especially in the early morning when the bus would be full of passengers going to their workplace and back in the evening. i found it to be a great job with good pay also. i liked the people who lived there, always friendly despite the environment they had to live in,no shops, not a lot going for them,i think this was the reason there were gangs of youths on the streets fighting as there wasn’t any type of clubs for them to use to keep them occupied. yes i remember that time very well as a young bus conductress trying at first to learn a job taking the public back and forth each day to work.

I enjoyed your video. I was born in Belvedere Hospital and spent the first 5 year of my life in London Rd near Nuneaton Street. But I know hardly anything of the East now. What I like aboot the video is that the images become more & more unfamiliar the further East we go. So much has changed in Glasgow since the early 70s when I attended London Rd Primary School. I love the music you have chosen. Can you tell me the name of the extraordinary squat building at the 9:43 mark? All the best to you!

This is certainly NOT the Burgh I was born in grew up. Schooled and left Its a completely ghost town to me now. Its as if I've NEVER entered this place in my whole life. Such a pitiful place now, to what it once was. The flyover in Springburn Road does absolutely nothing for the Burgh . The place was once bursting with shops excitement and happiness. Now it looks like a sad place, certainly NOT the little Burgh I was born and raised in all those years ago. All the memories of my birthplace have now disappeared since my dear hometown had changed its welcoming feeling. We all.go back once in a lifetime to.see our place of birth. Well!! its certainly a different place for me.

Don’t see why a lot of these houses couldn’t have been saved with some investment to improve them, They have knocked them all down and replaced them with a fraction of the houses that once stood, Now it’s very difficult for our children to get an affordable house! And I miss having a veranda.

The Lyrics: "'Til the day is feeling quite fun If you see a hit single go to Number One. The only fly in the ointment, Irn Bru's that claim: Made in Scotland from girders. There goes your chance of fame It's a bit of a shame." Should read something like:: "Still this ad is really quite fun Could be a hit single, go to Number One. The only fly in the ointment, Irn Bru's that claim: Made in Scotland from girders. There goes my chance of fame It's a bit of a shame."
