On my trip from Bergen to Oslo with my NEW boat Skilsø 35 Fly I stopped at several very beautiful places like Espevær in this video. Espevær is an island in Bømlo municipality. It is located just west of Bømlo in Vestland county. At the far end of the Westland coast, in Bømlo municipality is Espevær, a distinctive fishing village that is rich in cultural heritage. 100 years ago there was hardly...
Foldable solar panel SUNDWIND 120W test -What angel should you point it to the sun?
There is quite a big difference in how much energy you get from your solar panel depending on how you position it in relation to the sun. Movable panels have a big advantage if you use them while in the boat and you can optimize the angle during the day. And the angle you use depends on where you live on earth :) Det er ganske stor forskjell på hvor mye energi du får fra solcellepanelet ditt av...

Targa 32 - Test Eberspacher D4 Airtronic 4 KW and how quick the temp falls after shutdown of heater
How well does a diesel heater work in the winter? And how quick does the temp fall after shutting it off? The test is done with a Targa 32 with a Eberspacher D4 Airtronic (4KW). Conclusion - It works great. But it takes time to warm up the boat. And the boat loses heat almost just as fast when the heater is off.

Flott! Ser smalt ut men går fint.
Takk for tilbakemelding.
@@EHSEHS-x3l takk for tilbakemelding. Vestlandet er flott😄
What a beautiful video once again. Super nice route. As an observation, there seem to be very few cardinal marks indicating the right route compared to the situation in Finland, where a route like that would easily have dozens, if not more, marks.
@@jrannikk thx for the nice feedback. The route I took is not the main route. But, yes, you need to prepair your route in advance. We have a very long coastline so I think it will take time and a lot of money to mark everything well😀
we got to see some of the lovely countryside and waterways of Norway after the low clouds and fog had disappeared from the area, the sea state was almost perfect for your relatively short trip Lars. I am looking forward to seeing more of your travels on your new holiday boat soon, take care and stay safe Lars.
@@johningham4942 thx. Hope you are doing well!
Great sightseeing, despite the weather, and easy to follow due to your interactive maps, on my own chart and taking notes :-)
Thanks for great feedback:)
It was a lovely trip Lars despite the low clouds and wet weather but nearly perfect sea state for your near perfect trip. The new boat is very similar to the Marex boats you've had previously extremely sea worthy and I will look forward to seeing more trips in the future showing more of the lovely country you live in.
Thx John, had been nice with less clouds. Even more beautiful than. The Skilsø is more like the Marex than the Targa. Much more holiday friendly than the Targa. But Targe is faster and handles the sea a little better. But Skilsø is also a great in the sea. But on this trip we had little sea. Very lucky:)
@grindene yes you were very lucky with the sea state on the three different days, I am pleased that you are finding the new boat easy to handle. When I first saw her I thought she looked like a marex but this is a make I had never heard of before you told us what it was. Anyway stay safe on the water next season as winter is fast approaching now and that will stop those with smaller boats from venturing out Lars. 👍🙏
@@johningham4942 its a smaller Norwegian brand. But they have been around for a long time and make great boats. And with the weak nok they att cheap compared to boats like Targa for us. So far a mild start to winter. Last year the snow came in October and stayed, but not this year. I always bring a dingy as safety😄 And how is it with your boat plans?
@grindene I've had a nightmare of a year with my health but things are looking good now. I wanted to go to the Scilly Isles (off Lands End, England) this summer but unfortunately it never happened maybe next year.
@@johningham4942 sorry to hear that, but glad things look better now. Hope you can do your boat dreams next season.
Thanks for the new video. Great to see that your are enjoying your new boat.
@@jrannikk thx. I miss the Targa as a drivers Boat. But do not miss Volvo and Sterndrive with its to many errors and costs:)
Nice boat, super trip and great video. Which app used for map visualisation? Looks super
@@mbboater703 thx. I use TravelBoast. For the overlay i use Telemetry
What a lovely boat trip despite the wet, rainy weather but we still got to see some of the beautiful Norwegian islands Lars. The bays and fjords in that part of the world are absolutely spectacular and despite the weather the sea state was perfect for your voyage. I am looking forward to seeing more of these wonderful trips in your relatively new boat, Lars.
Thx Joan. I took a lot of footage. And with resolution 5k it tok a long time to get the files downloaded and organized. But now that is done. I think there will be a weekly film going forward:) And the weather good better so I could use my 360 camera.
🤩😃
It was a lovely trip from Viknes to Bergen and finally ending up at Oslo, the journey was an interesting one with lots of sights to savour . The boat was performing perfectly and you piloted her to the best of your experience and brought her home safely to your home port Lars.
@@johningham4942 thx. It was a lovely trip and I filmed the whole trip. So a lot of videos coming. The first part with not the best weather, but a great ending.
@@grindene I will be looking forward to the other videos of the whole trip, Lars.
Fint.

Congrats fellow Skilso 35 owner. I actually started a small site where I am detailing the fixes and modifications I am doing to mine. Some tips (unless you already found out the hard way) - get some blue thread glue and remove and reinstall with glue all the set screws on the door handles, the two set screws on the side door, the set screw on the toilet paper holder, and also replace the washers on the high-low teak table (or tables) with non-slip ones.... If you want the water pump to be 2-3x quieter, check how your pressure accumulator is mounted, if it is like on mine (bronze hard fitting), then remove the bronze fitting, fit some hose (check whale fittings on SVB, that's what htey used) and boom, instantly much quieter water pump. The toilet is still very loud though. Also keep a tube of contact or superglue handy, because the ply covering on the furniture in the gaps in drawers and doors delaminates sometimes, happened to me in a couple of places. Additionally the hatches cut in the floor have the same issue. There's also a bunch more stuff, I'll try to make writeups about it :)
@@royalgm thx, can you write down your homepage for the works on your boat, also recommend the facebook site for Skilsø owners. A lot of Good tips there.
@@grindene It's not possible to post links on TH-cam, they get automatically deleted, even if you think you are clever. I will try to find the facebook site, so far no luck.
@@royalgm The Facebook group is called. Vi med Skilsø
Where i can find the datasheet?
Rather, buy a two-stroke in good condition, cheaper, lighter, and slightly higher consumption
I have both a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke. The 2 stroke smells a lot and you need oil every time you film the tank. And it uses dobbel the fuel, so for me its 4 stroke for the winn😊
Lovely aerial photography Lars of the area in which you live a different view to the normal views we get from your boat.😊
Thx John, the drone gives a better overview of the area.
🔥🔥🔥👍
Fin video!❤
First of all, thanks for the video. Beautiful. Great that you finally revealed your choice of boat. Excellent choice, I believe. I’ve seen some here in Finland (not the exact model) and it looks very nice. The interior has a more modern tone than in the Targa. Enjoy the boat and congratulations!
Thx, we wanted more space. The Targa was a great sea going boat but lacked the space we needed for longer trips.
Rip targa
Hi Lars, what size of tender do you have on the swim platform?
Hi John, I will make a comparison video later. They are about same size and wight. But different concepts
It's a beautiful robust boat Lars with a bigger range than your Botnia Targa, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she performs against your previous one.
Great video!
Thx😄
Lars - Do you have a bow thruster that is also operational as part of the joystick control? I am looking at a 38' boat with sterndrive and a Volvo Penta joystick but without the bow thruster. Wondering how those handle and how precise they are. Thanks
Hi Tom, The boat has a bow thruster also. But I did not use it when I used the Joystick. The thruster was not integrated with the joystick. And I did not miss that. But it s nice to have if you don't use the joystick.
Interesting video.
Thx. For me also😊
Tell me if you have sorted out the electrics to start with the key
I have not electric start on the outboard, but need to use the key to start the motor manualy as well.
I'm very surprised... My Nord Star 34 2xD6 370 with G7 propellers has 3000 rpm and a speed of 32 knots. This is maximum. Unfortunately...
I think you should have more rpms. Probably therefore you have low speed. I have optimised the propellers at an expert in Norway, windace. That gave me more speed also.
There is something wrong with your setup. The engines should run close to 3500 rpm flat out.
Indeed, what a breathtaking day it showcases! As spring eagerly approaches, the Finnish archipelago still slumbers beneath a blanket of snow and ice. Yet, watching your journey through Norway’s stunning landscapes, aboard a vessel sister to my own Targa 32, fills me with anticipation. Hurry, spring.
Thx, at home there is 1 meter of snow and I live 20 min form the harbor. And the ice came just after new year. And properly stays to April. But we have to hope for some warm spring weather:)
thx, IPS is also very expensive both in purchase and maintenance. And in shallow waters you can adjust the stern drives for better clearance 😊
Nice :)
😅😅😅😅😅
That's a lovely piece of seamanship by all of those sailing boats meandering through those shallow channels and rocky inlets lars.😊
Yes, this is not easy sailing John:)
Stunning spot and skilful sailors.
In my Targa, I use three different systems to maintain warmth on board: 1. Factory-Installed Electric Heaters: These are placed in both cabins and the engine bay, using shore power. They can keep the moisture away. However, especially in winter, they struggle to keep the interior above freezing if the external temperature drops to -5°C or lower. Unlike Lars, I haven’t added extra insulation. 2. Eberspacher Diesel Heater: This has been good in all conditions. It heats up the boat effectively, though it can take a long time. The remote activation feature is a plus, allowing the boat to be warm upon arrival. 3. Targa’s Built-In Defroster: This system leverages heat from the main engines to warm the boat. It’s quite effective. From my experience, the utility of the electric heaters is debatable. They seem most beneficial when staying overnight on the boat during milder seasons like spring.
Hi, I have the same as you. Targa heater in the engine room and in the aft cabin. But they are only about 300W. When it is -10 - 15 it is not enough. I therefore have 3 more heaters of about 1500W each. They heat up the boat great when I am at shore power. The new insulation mats have helped keep the engine room much warmer than before. Merry Christmas !
I've noticed that targa boats have a lovely heating system on all of their boats, lars and they heat up very quickly. It's no wonder that Targa are the all year round boats and in most of the seas can they operate while other boats are confined to port.
The defroster on the Targa is the beste I have tested in any boat. It keeps the boat warm when driving. With other boats you usually have to use the diesel heater instead.
I love these natural places you visit, I'll be a bit further north next season and hopefully find a few myself
When the weather is good nothing beats this
Amazing scenery, and thanks for sharing! My Targa is already out of the water due to the ice. I logged 139 hours during the season, which is pretty good.
Not bad😊 It’s cold in Norway also. But because of easterly winds we have no ice at the moment near my harbour 😊
Boat camera music, very nice.
Yes. It’s a very nice place. One of my favourites 😄
