“We are everyday people having conversations and discussions about whiskey and life. This podcast is not just another Whiskey podcast. We discuss ongoing issues and concerns with local, regional and national allocations. We visit distilleries locally and even internationally to interview master distillers, master blenders and owners as well as distribution reps to get different perspectives and the latest trends. We visit bottle shops and stores for Whiskey Hunts.
Once our community has grown, we will source single barrel picks and charity events. From time to time, we will discuss cigars and pairing them with whiskeys. Additional we will have a live podcast monthly to start off, and the more frequently as the channel grows."

Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Bourbon & Rye Review Coming Soon
Great stuff, yes very similar to bourbon.
Both sound intriguing, thanks for the tip
This weekend my wife and I did a tasting of the samples you shared. Thank you again for that. I totally agree with your review. The toasted rye had a little more going on and was a slight enhancement over the rye, but absolutely not worth the up charge. That said, neither of the EC ryes were our jam. The EC toasted bourbon is great. I'm planning to blind it against 1910 sometime soon. Thanks again for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed. Thank you for the feedback. Appreciate your support. Please share the channel with others.
Great video
Great Video 👍🏻
Great interview! Really sheds some light on a good brand. Definitely interested in tasting some of their varieties!
I had no clue how many varieties of Old Elk were out there. Nice job on the interview. Thanks for sharing it along with the reviews. A few more I'll add to the to try list. The 95% wheat is particularly intriguing.
Thanks for the feedback
Another great video and information. Been curious about Old Elk...thanks.
Very informative! Great podcast, Helico.
Thanks for sending the pours! I was amazed how good the J.T. Meleck is. I'm a total novice, but it just tasted like good bourbon. Pretty standard flavors (but what do I know), and easy to drink for being so high proof. I've tried some store special Maker's before, those were good and the one you shared didn't disappoint. Carmel/butterscotch for sure. I probably preferred the Maker's, but both were very good. Thanks again!
Glad you like them and so glad you are part of the team now. The journey of whiskey loving will take you many places. Thanks for the comment back.
Nice review, would love to try a sample.
How does this come up in my feed? Too funny! Thank you.
I am still a newbie at this and still learning how to properly smell the different notes and tastes and from each glass, but I do know what I like and was very much looking forward to trying these samples... JT Meleck Definitely different than other corn or rye based whiskeys I've had so far. Really enjoyed this sweet flavor. Probably one of my favorite tastes so far. I see why y’all like it so much and will buying a bottle soon. For such a high proof point, it is really smooth at the end with no "hard bite". The end is almost as good as the tasting. Marks Mark Original Smooth sweet candy like taste. Easy on the pallet and remains very smooth to the end Both samples were very enjoyable to taste and experience. JT Melek was my favorite of the two. Will be buying both very soon. Thank you for each sample and enjoying your content!!
I’m glad you received you enjoyed these whiskeys they are both great. Thanks for Letting us know what you thought. I appreciate the support and comment back.
Best video yet, LOL. Just kidding, thanks!
Thanks for the tour.
I have not tried either bottle. I do like Wild Turkey products. I have never had an Evan Williams product believe it or not. Thanks for the review.
Great review. On the fence of getting the EW 12 when im in Louisville for the KY Bourbon Fest! Would love the opportunity for a fre sample!
Fill out the web form, subscribe, share and like and your name will go into the drawing.
Great review ole chap!! 🫡
Thanks for the opportunity. Would love to try these
Interesting to hear about these, thanks. I'm guessing the age would have stood out, but it might have been interesting to see you blind rank them with their alternative/standard bottles. Thanks for sharing you thoughts on these. Also, amazes me that Heaven Hill gets that nutty flavor in everything they do. They are consistent... Cheers.
Yes, I plan to do more blinds in upcoming episodes it is the one true equalizer. Yeah, HH has some a slight nutty hint for me, but nowhere near the amount of peanut shell flavors I get from almost everything James Beam, Knob creek not as much but tons on all the Bookers.
@@BourbonUnited Cool looking forward to it. That nuttyness is odd for me. Some days I get a lot of it, some days (same bottle), it's just a hint.
New subscriber here. Great content and I look forward to watching your growth. I recently got all 3 of the HH grain to glass but haven’t cracked them yet. Keep up the good work!🥃👊
Thank you, Mike, appreciate your support. Let me know your thoughts after you taste them.
I’ve seen the WT 12 on Bourbon Concierge for 179. Couldn’t pull the trigger at that price, but I’ll definitely be hunting for it.
Thank you!!!
Liked and subscribed. I appreciate the thorough review and the value comparison. I do like the concept that Heaven Hill is pursuing here. Time will tell if it is well received by the market and whether reviews like this may help them re-evaluate their MSRP. I just purchased all 3 and look forward to tasting it with friends. I do like Heaven Hill products. So giving it a try.
Thank you ! I appreciate your support. Let me know your thoughts once you taste them.
I respect what they did with these bottles and I thought all three were good, but none were great. Larceny BP is definitely one of my favorites and is much better than the wheated.
Love your videos and a chance for samples but looking to learn how to smell a glass of bourbon properly. Newbie that loves the taste of bourbons and rye so far but struggles with getting the smelling the notes just right. Maybe my nose is broken (lol)...thanks again!
Rob, don't give up. It takes years to develop nosing and what notes you get on your palate. Try concentrating on one part of your tongue at a time. Each part of your tongue will yield different flavors.
@@BourbonUnited Thank you responding. Means a lot.
I like that you considered price. Often there is a big price just to go up a few price points, or get a single barrel. Usually interesting/fun to try the differences, but not always worth it if you are just looking for a bottle to drink.
My thoughts exactly. I am glad you can relate.
Great review! Thank you for the honest opinion. I believe reviews like this are really educational for those new bourbon junkies that are still learning.
Thanks Jason. I appreciate the positive feedback.
Good video. I like the honest review! Were the winners from last video chosen?
Not yet. I am letting each video run 1 week before running the names.
Thanks for sharing. Always fun to see the different availability and pricing in different areas. I drink a lot of OF86, it was odd to see the OF100 at a buck less. Being a Maker's fan, I'd have probably garbed that Maker's Original also. Thanks.
Bardstown Amrut is an amazing bottle, and that Jacobs Pardon is an 18 year hazmat light whiskey, 175 is the best price I’ve seen. Good video, keep up the good work!
Thank you @averagejoeswhiskey, I appreciate the support. Thanks for the recommendations and encouragement and compliment.
thanks!
Canatas just got a Berhneim BP in
lol, of course they did. Thanks
They had 3, I got one. Not sure what they have left.
@@cblock1002 If you are close enough grab me one of it’s at MSRP and I’ll arrange a pick up. PM me at DylanSanchez on FB msger
@@BourbonUnitedI’ll go check tomorrow
Cannata's home store is in my hometown of Morgan City!
Don’t know about the one in MC but the Houma one always does great barrel picks.
Cannata's has always had one of best selections and prices.
Agreed
Where in Louisiana are you located?
I am near Hammond, La. You ?
@@BourbonUnited Houma
S&T in houma has Bernheim BP
Thanks !!🙏🏻
That JD Rye pick is a true honey barrel. The Brewzle old soul pick is ok, but that Cannata's old soul is on another level. Check out how the Wilderness Trail pick did in a 12 person blind 1. K.Luke9 2. Bookers KY-Tea 3.Wilderness Trail SP 4. Stagg 23b 5. Barrel batch 33 6. BBC Disco 8 Clyde May's is a powder sugar 💣 Honestly all the picks are great though!
Thank you for these recommendations
Nice video! Makes me want to take a ride. Pretty good selection it looks like at good prices.
Your resident newbie checking in. Thanks for your last response to my question and appreciate the "on scene" recommendation and video. Keep em coming and thank you for even offering free stuff. Great way to find out if you like them without having to commit to a full bottle.
Glad to see are enjoying.
Great content! I really like the comparisons you brought in and if you didn't have what you considered the "optimal" comparison, you still called it out. Also, top notch stuff with the graphics and zoom in on the labels. Can you please tell me how/where you got the background track that plays throughout the video? It brought a good vibe and reminds me of when I get together with friends to sample whiskey and we throw on some music in the background.
I really appreciate the feedback. Just getting started in the TH-cam channel and Whiskey review World. Steep learning curve when it come to using editing software and adding cool graphics that keep people engaged. As for the music , these songs are preloaded in the video editing software and have random names, but not trademarked by artists so we can legally use them. I don’t know what they actually are. Chris Stapleton instrumental only would be my recommendation. Please subscribe if haven’t and share on as many platforms as you can to help me out. Where are you located ? I’ll send you some free samples.
Good stuff sir!!
Appreciate it Brandon. Please share
Very nice setup. Love a good podcast. Cheers.
Glad you liked it, please check out episode 1 and let me know what you think in the comments of it. th-cam.com/video/kAwLYwHQItI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7xrysEVe1QLO4lK-
Very interesting. As a newbie, what is your favorite or recommended bourbon and rye for less than 50? For Bourbons, I really like 1792, Woodford Reserve, Elijah Craig, Buffalo Trace but would love any recommendations you might have as a seasoned vet. The only Rye I've had is from Texas Trails Distillery in Galveston and I like it. Thank you!!
Hi there, my recommendation for entry level bottles around $50 would be Woodford Double Oaked, EC Barrel Proof, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Makers Mark "Wood finish/Stave profile" store pick, Knob Creek 9 and 12 year for bourbon and for Rye's Id grab a Pikesville, Sagamore Rye pretty much any bottle, but especially the 8 years, but those are a little more expensive, Knob Creek Rye. If you can grab a store or club pick "Barrel Pick" of any of these then that much better. Hope this helps. Let me know what you think about those and if you want any other recommendations. I'm planning to do a suite of newbie guidance videos. Please share this channel with friend that into whiskey.
@@BourbonUnited Thanks.
What are your top 3 bourbons? Any price point.
Top 3, wow tough question. As of late my favorite go to s are ; Old Carter, Bourbon and American Whiskey, Michters 10 Year Bourbon and Rye and K.LUKE batch 2 rye and batch 7 Bourbon.
Best of luck! Looking forward to hearing some insights from a Louisiana bourbon enthusiast!
Thank you Phil
