The Cub // Shot on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k Full Frame
Hey! This is a short film a long time in the making. The length being due to scheduling! When working on something that is not paid and having people who are there to help you see your vision, it's important to remember that projects like this may take more time.
This is heavily inspired by The Bear. I had just finished the 3rd season and it gave me the itch to create something like it.
Huge thank you to my friend Josh who worked the camera for this whole thing, and Jacob for being my "mean ex Head Chef", and lastly my girlfriend who helped me coordinate the whole thing to make sure we got what we needed.
Hope you all enjoy!

Got a couple of other videos I'm working on too! One of them is way more ambitious than the others so that one may come a bit later. Nonetheless, have a good one and see you soon.

Recreating Scenes from Saltburn // Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Full Frame
มุมมอง 53021 วันที่ผ่านมา
Heyo! I decided to recreate some shots from Saltburn! This was very challenging anf ended up turning out different but in a good way. I learned quite a bit from this process and I hope you're able to take away something as well. Watching this back, I apologize about the lack of explanation at some parts and as I get accustom at this TH-cam thing, maybe then I'll remember to pick up the camera a...
The Artist // Shot on Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k Full Frame

I'm working on a couple bigger things at the moment, and I wanted to create something much more simplistic that also showcased the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera I recently got. All shots are 6k Open Gate using the CinePrint 35 emulation. These are shots of my girlfriend one afternoon when she was drawing. I love what she creates and we have a lot of her work hung up around our house. I had initi...

Heyo! This is how I color grade with CinePrint 35. This is still a really new emulation so I'm sure there will be a lot more information on this to come in the months ahead! This is how I decided to use the color grade and I also share some tips that I have learned along the way that I enjoy using a ton. They may not work for you, but give them a try and see if you like them. If you all have an...

I decided to not reframe anything so anyone looking for Open Gate footage can do so. Everything here was shot on vintage...

Ventured out to Confluence Park here in San Antonio and I had such a good time. It was such a good creative exercise to go and just sit and look around at the angles the art installations gave. If you ever have the chance you should definitely go check it out! Take your camera and just let the compositions come to you. Hope you enjoy!
Lovely!!
very nicely done...i do wonder IF you made it widescreen...how it would look....
Underrated channel! Keep it up

Hi! Great stuff my friend. One question Matte i shot my videos with my Samsung s24 what do you recommend to put in the CST space? Because I see the image with too much contrast and high saturation Thank youu!
@@juanpedroferretti2163 ahhhh yeah totally. hmmm, that’s a good question. i would think a standard rec.709 color space would probably be best? i would recommend looking up on Google “color space of samsung s24” and then go from there!

Very nice recreation my friend. I noticed that your version was a little bit soft light hitting your face. Was the light punching through shears by the window? Regardless, awesome job you did here.
@@gaarax0x hey! no it was not! i had a light coming through the window and then another light being bounced off of a reflector. the reflector might have made the light come in a bit softer. there is another shot as well where i used the white portion that comes with lights sometimes and i covered it to soften it up a bit since it was so close to me. if i wanted to recreate something like this in the future, mirrors would be my first choice as it casts harder shadows like in the movie!
@@gaarax0x and thank you so much!
This is so nice!! Id love to see a breakdown of this! Did you use a powergrade for this like cineprint to colour grade or just did you own thing? It's beautiful!
thank you so much!! i used Cineprint35!
i am also trying to be better about recording the process so moving forward I’ll have more behind the scenes to show. i can definitely still break this down because there were things i learned and could have done better here and i definitely want to share that! thank you so much for watching and commenting :)
@notdarrengarcia That would be great! Really amazing cinematography!!
Bro watched the bear and got a wave of inspiration
hahahahah to say the least! 😂
You only need your output color space to be Rec709-A. The timeline color space will influence the way that different grading tools affect the image, so it's best to work in a wide color space (such as Davinci wide gamut intermediate).
yes! thanks to the others who have commented I have been playing around with it and have managed to follow the workflow you described and got the colors I wanted. I prefer Davinci but couldn't get past that hurdle. I've applied that workflow on my subsequent projects and have been pleased with the results! So, thank you for commenting that!

Hey did you changed the sequence settings to rec-709A? Please tell me your sequence settings as Tom said Gamma 2.4 and I’m getting those green hues in my video. Thank you and beautiful video.
@@amitnatty4923 yeah i changed it to rec709-a! i’ve actually been setting my timeline space to davinci wide gamut and the output (gamma i believe) to Rec709-A. this has kept my colors looking really nice while allowing for a wider spectrum of colors for me to grade within

Hi, I love your work! I've been using the Cineprint35 LUTs on my BMPCC 4K RAW footage, but as soon as I apply the LUT, the image becomes overly contrasty, and the colors don't look like what I see in your videos. I'm editing in DaVinci Resolve, and all my BMPCC 4K settings seem correct-no LUT baked into the files, and I'm shooting in BRAW with an 8:1 compression ratio. Could this issue be due to not having the full version of DaVinci Resolve?
@@evanphotoschannel hmmmm that’s a good question. usually if it’s about not having all of the tools it’ll usually display a Davinci Logo on the screen. if the colors are coming out different than you had originally imagined then it could be the color space transform. the BMD powerade is for the latest Blackmagic color space. you could try looking into one of the nodes where the color space transforms are and adjust it to what you’re shooting in! not sure if that’ll fix it but it’s a good place to start!
Did you change your Timeline and Output color space in the project settings because that could be the issue. In Tom Bolles' video, he recommends you changing the Timeline CS to REC.709 and Output CS to Gamma 2.4 in the project settings. Though I watched another video where someone recommending using REC.709-A in both Timeline and Output CS and that has worked for me as well.
@@Thomas-Fleming no i haven’t but i’ll give that a try! i’ve been setting my project to Davinci wide gamut and the color space to rec709-a. then on export page i make sure that i also set it to rec709-a. and so far so good!
