I've been training systema while in college in Florida and have been doing this drill a lot, with and without striking. It change my walking pattern in everyday life and I think the footwork here is the optimal pattern to do a 180 degree turn, simple and efficient.

Excellent video. I've been putting together a video on an introduction to stretching. There's not a great deal out there for a full body stretch with Systema in mind. However, there doesn't need to be 😊. You've really covered key points . Thanks

Thanks Ivan Problem with high kicks is that they are relatively easy to see and dodge and you are in a vulnerable position. So strategically inferior for fundamental reasons ...unless you are positive the guy can't escape due to timing or lack of awareness. On the other hand its good to practice high as tension in real use will decrease your range about 50%. Plus its fun. ;-)

Great info, thank you very much. Impressive round-house kick and side kick done slow-mo, excellent explanation, enjoyed the part about not having to sync breathing and kicking as such, I see why it would be important from a systema point of view. I am surprised this video did not get more views or comments already. Again thank you

Slanty i think you're missing the point It's not about self defense tactics. It's about learning how human mind and body works. For example: you're walking in a dim corridor. You can see but not clearly and far. You encounter an obstacle hanging from a roof. You see it a just a glimpse before you run in to it. I bet you flinge, duck, dodge or whatever to avoid an obstacle catching you off guard. Same here. You're not supposed to stop a person waving your hand like a jedi but you might be able to use the knowledge from this lesson in a real situation making the attackers body and mind react in such way beneficial for you

if this nonsense worked every victim who lay cowering in a corner pushing there hand out willing the person not to strike them would be protected. teaching this as self defense is sociopathic , you'll get someone killed if they try this in real life
