Costa Rican Independence Day
This video was made in the beautiful city of San Isidro de El General, Pérez
Zeledón, Costa Rica, with a lot of love for everyone. Students of Spanish as a second language can practice easy Spanish vocabulary related to the Costa Rican Independence Day parade.
This year, Costa Rica celebrates 202 years of Independence.
Costa Rica became independent from Spain in 1821.
In Costa Rica, parades do not have military representation, since the army was abolished on December 1, 1948. The parades are made up of students from schools, colleges, universities and some other representatives of the
communities. In this video, you will get to meet some of them since I will be conducting interviews. At the same time you can sharpen your Spanish listening comprehension!
All “Ticos”, (the nick-name of all Costa Ricans), celebrate it with great joy and enthusiasm.
This video is an example of how we celebrate Independence, who are the
participants in the parades, Costa Rica folk music and the
beautiful typical costumes that represent our true “Tico” culture.
Enjoy it!

This is mind-blowing. I thought I couldn't understand Spanish for s**t; it turns out I just can't understand it at full-speed. Slow it/dumb it down enough, and it's all clear. She's utterly brilliant, watching all her vids, que sabor la pura vida!

Gracias por esta lección, señorita.
Very helpful. I appreciate that the teacher pronounces very clearly and explains clearly.
Decent this is!! Thank me later -> S M Z E U S!!
I really like your videos but since you don't say the English translation of the phrases I have to take more time and do a translation on a separate device. So this takes way to much time. I do understand some Spanish words but your not saying the translation of the phrase and words into English. If you did I think you would have more views and more subscriptions.
