The 'larger idea' is that people really don't like being deceived and saying this is a 'rescue' when it's a training exercise is deceptive, not to mention disrespectful. This organization relies heavily on public support, respect goes both ways, at least it should.

The drone wouldn't be able to pull the rescuees, but maybe a rope attached to the floatation device, long enough to reach the shore so that the humans can take over. You'd need quite a long rope, though, and that stuff gets heavy when it gets wet... A bigger drone (those that can actually lift a grown person) would be able to handle this, but i don't think that there are that many of those out there - or that they'd have the budget for a couple of them.

Also, you know, the description says that the swimmers were in trouble ;) I don't think you'd describe somebody as actually "in trouble" if it was only a trial, would you? The news article that brought me here specified that the (still running) trial mentioned above is about using drones for this purpose in general, and that this was (supposedly) not part of the trial, so it would have been an actual rescue mission using tools that are not officially approved yet. But hey, the manufacturer doesn't care, as long as he gets the publicity and the agency in charge will have to answer for using it... if, you know, it wouldn't be all staged anyways.

what an absolute load of rubbish. You do know there are other way to make a family. Adoption, Surrogates and the like. Gay people do it all the time anyway, well for those of them that are interested in that lifestyle (spoiler alert: they are arent all interested in that). the thing you are calling a fact has only been one since 1994, in our country. Countries all over the world has been redefining them for almost a decade and their societies still function. Pretty much when someone says something is a 'truth' actually translates to 'the only reality i want to believe'. Whether something is true, is based on someones opinion of what is right or wrong, your truth is only true to you and people of likeminded thoughts. That doesnt make you right. Nor does it make you wrong. It just means you have an opinion.

you do know things have changed through history? Slavery is wrong now. Woman (in theory) are now equal in all ways. Though some loser males still dont see it that way. You mention about kids, once upon a time, woman used to be forced into marriage at an age when that was legal, they were property, children. We used to arrest and imprison gay people. We use to have no police and if you go back long enough we didnt have justice. A commoner was the property of their Lord. See the flaw in your argument yet? HINT: Morality is not fixed. Human social evolution, keeps doing exactly that, evolving and adapting. So by all means keep going on about history, while the rest of us understand, that while those things are fixed in time, morality adapts from those lessons.
