I'm thankful for the more detailed stance on KCD:2, since I'm really conflicted about my pre-ordering it and sinking in some time after the 2-hour no guaranteed refund mark. The gameplay itself as far as I've experienced is a more polished version of the first game, I'm having a good time with the writing so far, but it gives me the impression that all the stuff that's being talked about holds off on showing up until the second half of the game in the Kuttenburg area, which would be a really scummy thing to hide all the changed stuff in the second act of a 100+ hour game... But you're right, nobody as far as I can see who's got a good head on their shoulders is calling for boycotts, doxing people, or even shaming those who bought the game as being complicit in funding those that hate us. I think the apprehension about being a part of funding Embracer and such is what is so hard to think about for some, so they get defensive. At least that's my going theory of all the cope, plus like I said: gameplay, music and atmosphere outside of the overall written story is really well done in and of itself, so it's not as easy to just completely write it off for some as it is for say Dragon Age: Veilguard or something.
