Hotline vs Nyx deserved a Spiderman vs. Spiderman meme 😀
How did you get your p1p to print nylon?
@@jacobmoscarella9057 Printing is the easy part, but making the nylon stick to the bed is a pain. finally after some time figured how to by buying myself a g10 garolite build plate that was quite expensive, but nylon sticks to it perfectly.
That makes sense
Those gyroscopic "evades" vs. NYX were awesome! Doubt those were intentional, but they looked sick!
@@SanderMakes Yeah it looks pretty cool, I was trying to self right onto my good side
I think the PP was printed a little cold it looks like the adhesion isn't great and PP should have some of the best layer adhesion of any material. It's also the lowest density though so remember the same part in nylon might be stronger but, it also will weigh like 20% more I think.
I agree, it was printed at 260 celsius and Now that I tried printing at 300 it looks the same as I thought the temperature would decrease the quality of the part.
@@DrumBotics With good settings PP has TPU like layer adhesion and elongation at break is higher than any other non flexible material but, nylon has a lower coefficient of drag, higher tensile strength and stiffness, which might be better. I'd be interested how a higher temp PP part would perform.
@@thirtythreeeyes8624 Two weeks till my next competition so I will give it a try.
1:45 my horizontal spinner also made in 1 week hahaha. Great video
Tyto-two 💪
I love drums… Would be very interested in seeing how a 1lbs tytotu would perform over here in the US.
Hi, I love your videos. I'm from latin america and I also participate in this kind of 500g tournaments, could you give me some advice on what kind of filament to use in my combat robots, so far I used petg and it was not a very good idea xd.
Nylon pa6-12 is best so far, very tough, carbon fiber nylon of needed something stiff, and tpu for side armor of ot doesin't need ti be stiff.
What about the rules? I am planing an competition here in Brazil with the same categories and arena size
3minute rounds till one point double elimination if there's more competitors and if there's not that much robots then it's sometimes devided into groups so we could have more fights.
@@DrumBotics thank you
In Croatia we have only 3 pound (1.5kg) :)
Are you voing to participate in Preiļi, 25th january?
Of course! I will bring my 200 gram Tytotu eggbeater, so it will be really intresting. Also I'm planning to finish my new version of this 1 pound tytotu and bring to preilu 1 pound category.
Not having a roof is super concerning. That could have easily led to a severe injury if a part failed and hit someone or even worse a robot could get launched OOTA. If you have contact with that event organizer please tell them to invest in a roof.
@@prodgbm I know right, I kept saying this to them, but as this competition was too small and probably won't grow I won't come there again. Without my team there were mostly pushers with no weapons and I get why they thought the roof is not needed.
hello what bambu lab 3D printer are you using?
@@blinkdagger4393 Bambu p1p, with a custom enclosure for printing with special filament like nylon or polypropylene.
@@DrumBoticsi am planning to buy a 3d printer bambu lab p1s. as a beginner, i got a little bit of knowledge about 3d printers. will this printer work on printing nylon, polycarbonate and carbon fiber? the parts will be used on my combat robot.
@blinkdagger4393 Yes bambu in my opinion would be the best choice and of course p1s has an enclosure so even better. Just know when printing nylon you would most likely need an advanced g10 garolite bed. Cf-nylon amd polycarbonate prints perfectly fine.
May I ask, I'm curious, what are your origins? Because you sound extremely American/Californian.
@@SpiderWaffle I'm Lithuanian. And the truth is that I'm not the person speaking as my english speaking is not that good, so I just have another person who speaks english perfectly and who also has a very good microphone to speak everything that I have written. I haven't really published that yet to the viewers tho. Hope that is clear.
@@DrumBotics Okay, makes sense I thought something like that. Was too good to be AI voice.
@SpiderWaffle Oh yeah that AI voice was terrible when I used to use it earlier.
@@DrumBotics But maybe with some of the filters now, they're pretty impressive.
8:47 Why not have a direction swap function, the bot is very symmetrical either side.
I thought self righting with gyro would be enough.
@@DrumBotics Ya, but the time it takes is so detrimental. You're very vulnerable, plus can't capitalize and go offense when you're trying to self right like that. Would be so much better if you could just seamlessly go right back to fighting. I bet you'd have won the rematch with that difference.
@@SpiderWaffle I guess at first for example the 200 gram tytotu version self rights way faster, but as we saw the 1 pound version self rights for some reason slower and that shows.
So I guess I'm visiting Lithuania in March :)
@@OptimusRoboticsPoland Yesss😀 That would be incredible!
Hot line vs TitotuXL
@LeonardoGomez-d8m Hotline every day🔥
I didn't even notice the pit until you ended up in there 😅
Your bot did really good, how can you counter the gyro effect? does NYX have a channel or page somewhere?
@@chyrt No, nyx is just very low to the ground and It's affected by the gyro much less than me.
@@DrumBotics Interesting, was the rotating mass of the spinner the same on both bots? does nyx have a instagram page or something?
@chyrt Yes it's balanced, but the weapon is non symetrical so one tooth is longer. He doesn't post anything about his robot on instagram.
Does the motor fit in the drum with only friction or is there glue/material involved too?
This time, because the drum is printed out of soft material it is pressfitted, but in the future I will use something like nylon which is harder yet still tougher and will put some glue there in as I press fit.
@@DrumBotics so if it was made of metal, would it be pressfitted or glued or would you use a collet?
@Greanbeens14 When I need to fit a motor into a metal hub I make the hole a bit bigger and just print a soft adapter and then the motor press fits perfectly.
@ thanks!
That arena having no roof is very worrying if they are allowing spinners. Even if they are at the 1lb weight class
Yeah right, I said that myself there, but I won't go home after a 300 kilometer drive😀 It was a very little competition and they probably didn't even think that there will be some powerfull spinners.
@DrumBotics In which case I hope they saw what your robots are capable of and make a roof! Or just send them the IIT Techfest 2014 video of a guy getting brained by shrapnel and hopefully they'll realise why you need a roof.
Why not just make 2 tytotus with some beef?
Why not multibot?
@@ineedachannelname8505 Actually I have already competed with two tytotu's way back in Latvia ryga's competition and it went terrible, didn't even deserve a video🙂
cool also I have a question are you gonna replace the drum with a different material or is it going to stay the same
Yes, I'm now working on this particular 1 pound drumspinner and it will be way better in the future. Planing to print the drum out of nylon or TPU 100 procent infill and in theory it should be indestructable, of course a lot of testing is still needed.
@@DrumBotics ok thanks
imagine what you could have done in 2 weeks
@@TomcoDesigns Haha😀
Wow amazing video, I immediately subscribed!
first :D
Can you give me advice to get a kit or build a combat robot on 200$ buget in one pound weight class
200 pounds is a lot, if it's your first time making a combat robot and you want to learn how to build one fast I would recommend getting a kit, but In my opinion building one on your own would be more beneficial, although it takes some skills designing knowledge and it takes more time.
ok, hotline is preti nice but chesecake would win easili, like why is avery robot in there held together by hopes and dreams?
8:31 ah yes, someone decided to test theyre weapon with an exposed battery hanging out
And you know what happened seconds later? His whole 600 gram weapon came out flying and he ended up breaking part of his robot :)
@ sounds about right. By the way I hope you find a way to fix the brushless drive, though I gotta say your robot performed extremely well with just 2 n20’s
@@jacobmoscarella9057 Yeah, the brushless drive problem was frustrating. Ordered some better AM 32 esc's so now They should work flawlessly.
Saw that fight irl, it was epic!
35 likes, 1 comment. Lemme fix that.
Which DC motor u used
@@Dailydiary._ The weapon is spun by a brushless motor not DC and the wheels are spun by brushless motors too.
Also I’m thinking about use ing legos for my bot because I have a decent amount of Lego tecknik
@@Caterjunes For the wheels or for the whole robot?
Nice I love combat robotics
Hi!! Iam from a beetlebot team in Croatia....would you be interested to come fight here?
What's the event called? I might check it out.
Great video!
@@MBotX Thanks!

I can't get enough of your videos and finally get into robotics myself!!!!! Just sad every time I go to buy your antweight kit it's always out of stock 😔 keep up the awesome fights!!!!!!
@@MikeOpath96 It is very great to hear! The kit is in the makings now and when I'll restock I will notify you before publishing🙂
@DrumBotics that will be massively appreciated if you can as I'll buy one in a heart beat I'm from the UK and got to a few events now just to watch and think it's definitely next level to what's around here
Once again great fights, but you should really switch to sharp thin forks instead of wide flat ones...
@@KingPieGamez You are reading my mind! My 4th version of hotline will have 4 long thin titanium forks.
@DrumBotics great minds think alike xD (can't wait to see it)
very nice!
Hey you should try comming to RCX 25 in Brazil
Brazil? Is the comletition as big? First time hearing that brazil has robochallange.
I think you could have taken the top spot if it were not for that brushless motor trouble!
Yeah I'm thinking like that too! Next year in Robochallange I will take revanche.
Uff
When I first started combat robotics I never had enough extra parts. Now there are always 3 full bots ready to go and at least 6 replacement parts for everything. I've lost a few times late in brackets because there were no extra parts.
Actually, up untill this point I have never needed any extra part for hotline when I competed with it. This was the first time and I learned the hard way.
@@DrumBotics I know the feeling my friend, and I don't like it!
Who won?
@LeonardoGomez-d8m A two disk vertical spinner. It was prettt good.
It was amazing meeting you and having you destroy my robots. I hope we fight again in RC2025
PD: The Hspinners with polycarbonate are mine. Thank you very much for keeping the aluminum bar that I gave you.
I hope to see you too, as I really liked competing here. No doubt I will come again.
@@QWERTY_56_WASDI know of course! Just when editing the video I forgot the name of your bot. It was papubot or something like that, but didn't want to make a mistake. Yes aluminium bar and that green wheel is sitting on my shelf as a memorial!
Thank you very much and happy holidays
@@QWERTY_56_WASD Also, I have one question. In the competition I saw you had the pistole like grip controller yeah? What receiver you were using. The one that came with the transmitter? I would like to use this controller too so I'm curious.
Polypropylene for the win!
@@OptimusRoboticsPoland Yeaaah, I might have overestimated the capabilities of polypropylene. It can crack after bigger hits not like TPU. That was shocking to see.
@@DrumBotics I was pretty happy with my parts but they weren't taking such a big stresses like yours. I'll be testing it more to really feel it, because during my time printing it I noticed even 5 degrees on the nozzle really changed it's properties. And also - different brands give different properties for PP, seems like every brand has a little different mix. I'll be sticking to Fiberlogy one for now as it was the most consistant.
@@DrumBotics UHMW will probably be your best bet, if you can cut it or find someone to cut it for you.
@@overmatchrobotics Yeah, PCBway can do pretty much anything so that would be my best option.
Spotted our channel at 1:20 😂 love your content, keep up the great work!
Thanks! The red two disk beatleweight?
@ nah, the VMA bot brawl video.
ahh, I see now. Great!
super cool to see the brazilians and other countries there too! will you build a beetleweight at some point?
Not brazilians, but mexicans and in bealteweight some kolumbians. Beatleweight? In the future for sure, but now focusing more on 1 pounders as I originally started from 150 gram robots now one pounders and after a couple of years hopefully will go up to beatleweights as I would really like to compete in NHRL.
