As much as I vibe with the 2D of the anime, Monty Oum is still the reason I find the fights in volume 1 and 2 my vibe. The choreography, the tempo, the music, everything just hits hard.

The only thing I don't like here is the infinite ammo. Literaly second later Rwby reloaded her weapon...LMAO

I like how most of this show is odd and a bit clunky but the second a fight happens shit goes from 1/10 to a what the actual fuck is going on/10

I wonder how ineffective guns are in this universe. People always dodge them, when they get "shot" they're fine (yes I get the aura thing, but that's still a little extreme) they almost never work on Grimm until it's convenient for them to do so... I'm so confused.

I see a lot of people complaining about the fight scenes in the newer volumes, and I gotta say, I can't agree. While these fights are really creative and have their own charm, the polish the new fight scenes have make them more believable and even more hype in a way. I especially loved the fight in volume 5 between Raven and Cinder, HOLY FUCK was that a blast to watch! I will say though, it's incredible that even after so long, Ruby still doesn't get any screen time with her scythe up close whatsoever. What the fuck happened to her being the posterchild? Jaune gets more plot focus than her for crying out loud XD

Watching all the rwby trailers again, why doesnt blake have a cool air move? She does buut like for 3 seconds 😂

I really like how in the first fight scene RWBY uses her ranged weapon every chance she gets, and uses melee when the enemy got too close. Then, whenever she gets/creates a pause or gets distance, she gets off as many safe shots as she can. That's pragmatic fighting right there.

Fight choreography is pretty good, but boy that animation quality is horrible, can't understand why this show is popular. Also, I'm so tired of constantly having way more badass female MCs/characters than male ones. I think more men watch action anime than women, I have trouble enjoying shows that don't let me self-insert tbh.

In my little opinion the small section 9:58 is the best of all of the series. The footwork, fakes, quick test jabs (kicks) till Melanie kicks too high and Yang uses that opportunity to beat her down. Monty you are sorely missed.

I liked the fight scenes from Volumes 1-3 more than the fight scenes from Volumes 4-6. The choreography was just more... organic.

All these fights gave me chills. I’m in love with this series.

The more I look back at these fights the more disappointed I am with how the fight scenes are now in RWBY. The very small intricate things that were once integral to each persons fighting style have all disappeared. Ruby isn’t as agile as she used to be, except in certain situations, and Blake no longer uses her sword as a whip she can control in mid air. It’s these minor details which always made a fight scene so unique. Also holy shit Adam was super fucking powerful in Blake’s trailer. What happened to his sheath being a gun, and him charging up slash attacks.

Gun-chucks are still probably the best weapon idea in this whole show.

I love how the design has changed so much since the red trailer. And Vol. 6 looks beautiful.
