We currently explore on a shoestring budget as we still have full-time jobs with kids, but we have an incredible urge to travel the world for a living someday when all our kids are grown up and out of the house! So far, we have started our great adventures when and wherever we can from short overnight road trips to great adventures. Informative video, quick question when in the year did you guys go. Want to avoid rainy weather😂. We booked for October please tell me it wasn't October I'm not cyclone proof
Hi John, if I remember correctly it was around April/May that we went BUT we did catch the back end of a big cyclone that had come through. The winter months are less likely to see rain and summer (probably more from Sep onwards) would have more rain

Visitors to small Karoo towns are always welcome. When city dwellers come to Karoo towns it reminds one of that Irish folk song - "The strangers came and tried to teach us their ways and scorned us for being what we were ...." They leave and the Karoo dwellers have to live with their changes. Pity

How do I achieve this with work ? I long to travel through South Africa but full time jobs make it impossible.. also how does one afford this ? I’m so intrigued I could do this all the time and live inside a caravan
Hey Jade :-) Thanks for the comment. We too find ourselves at this point unable to travel on a full-time basis as we have 3 teenagers at home that we are waiting to finish up with matric before we can think of doing it for a living. Our plan in the interim is to try and build up as much residual income with the purchase of assets as well as "up-skilling" ourselves with qualifications that would be sought after jobs to do as we travel (dive master, yoga instructors course etc.) I currently am also a full-time photographer & run my own social media business which will enable me to continue working no matter where I am as long as I have some wifi. Other options would be to sign up with a freelance work website, teach English online, become a virtual assistant (I know they make pretty good cash), so perhaps start a sideline thing for yourself after hours for now, and build up from there...easier said than done, but I suppose one has to start somewhere?

Okay, I officially frekaing love you guys :'D The coffee thing, and George and Esmeralda, the two elephant bulls. Sighs, you guys are awesome. So many videos I come across where the vloggers try too hard, or they try to be too knowledgable and almost patronizing...but you guys? You're just so darned wholesome. Only problem is you're making me miss the Kruger. Haven't been for over ten years and cannot freaking wait to go back. My boyfriend and I are making plans, so hopefully next year. But in the meantime, totally binge watching your stuff. Love it!

It was in Kruger when I was able to photograph a leopard in a tree. First and only time in a two year period. I love Canada, but SA is special. I hope to be able to return at least once more.
