Snarky Puppy - What About Me - performed, produced by Luca Pizzetti
Man....This thing took me longer than anything else in my life.
Worth it? Definitely yes.
I started thinking about it 3 years ago or so, got me the cheapest trumpet on Thomann and begun to figure out how to make something almost nice out of it, with the help of some great musicians friends. Basically, i thought it was a great and fun way to practice many instruments (which is my favorite hobby!), increasing my musical skills as well as producing skills, constantly thinking that some day I would eventually be able to play and record one of my favourite band's masterpiece that Michael League gifted to the world in 2014.
I eventually decided to add the caption "Dedicated to Shaun Martin", one of the member of Snarky Puppy that has recently passed away. I loved him, funniest guy ever, filled with joy while playing, you could literally feel his emotions by looking at his face. Great great great musician.

First I made a MIDI track of the entire song with the necessary suff so that I could use it to record the drum on. I played the bass on the drum track followed by all the guitars (except for the solo), keyboards and synths. I finally did the Winds adding some different flavor with the melodica and the soprano sax. The congas went after all this just because I forgot to record them earlier :D .
I spent some time trying to transcribe the whole drum part including the solo for "learning" purposes... I ended up keeping the solo as close to the original rather than playing my own or even improvising it... I could have give it a try to improvise it, maybe.
The guitar solo was a total pain... months and months of practice, I remember doing the solo transcription on January 2024. The thing is that I see myself more like a bass-man rather than guitar, probably due to my hands size, or my drumming background... I'm not very comfortable with guitar solos yet. I then decided to make my own solo for the first half of it, the second one I left it as my ears heard while transcribing Bob Lanzetti's marvelous solo.
I used Logic Pro x and a Persons Studio 1824c Audio Interface associated with a Beringer Ultragain Digital (for 8 more channels).
10 channels for the drum: Kick, Snare up, Snare btm, Second Snare, HiHat, Tom1,2,3, OHL, OHR.
MICs: SM57 for HiHat and Snare 1 (up and down) and a set of Persons DM-7 for the rest.
""FUNNY STORY"" : While recording the drum I somehow managed to smash the snare BOTTOM head for the first time in 29 years. I still don't know how this is even possible. I didn't have of course any spare bottom head to replace with so I put another top head instead and it sounded... not as beautiful as a Ludwig Supra Phonic should sound. But I had to record on that day at all costs!
I did all the guitars with the SM57 placed "kind of" in front of an old ELKA AC 1280R Amplifier.
The rest went directly plugged into the Presonus. I used some Logc Sounds as the Bebop Organ and the Vintage Wah Clav.
- Video
I self filmed all the clips with my mobile phone, I only used a GoPro, an additional Camera and an additional phone for the drums.
Put everything into Davinci Resolve, spent hours to manually sync every clip in time with the audio track (hope to learn the proper way some day)
Spent another Three of days to do all the cuts and nuts and there we go, I really hope you like it and appreciate the effort :D Cheers

I strongly believed in what, at first, I thought was very close to the impossible. I had this crazy idea in 2019. Got the score from snarkypuppy.com in 2020 and I started practicing. Played my first note on the trumpet in 2021. Kept practicing in 2022. Self-recorded in summer 2023 in my house. Video editing and pubblishing on 29th December 2023. This video is dedicated to Michael League, band l...

Here for you, my own " one man band " version of Another brilliant work by Australian band Tame Impala. I believe Kevin Parker really hit the nail with this piece, both musically and emotionally. Went through a dark time a couple of years ago, could't speak, had my mind on hurtful thoughts, spent almost a year hiding away from my friends, my family, my life basically. So I spent days listening ...

Kaval Sviri - Bulgarian folk song

Follow me on Instagram : piluca_music One of the funniest thing I've ever experienced since I've started making music videos. I've always been in love with harmony, especially vocal harmony so when I first heard the song it was straight love. Performing a female choir song was quite challenging, so I had to sing it a whole tone below at 432 hz tuning, just for fun :). I find the modulation part...

So much fun doing this! I tried to make the most "fun" out of my really bad playing wind instruments... I'm quite happy about the bass though :) :) :) But that's all about music right? Having fun!!!! The overall intonation isn't very good, the original audio were not perfectly in tune so I had to pitch it up... Also, since it was a live version they "moved" the intonation along the way and I ha...

After listening to the third track from Tame Impala's fourth studio album "The slow Rush" I just thought I would do my own version of it. Big big fun, expecially making the video.

Second track from Donald Fagen's debut solo studio album "The Nightfly". The first time I listened to "Green Flower Street" I just couldn't keep myself from picking up the bass and play that line... then, i just felt like doing the rest, huge fun!

Grazie Luca! Grande, grande! This is amazing. Greetings from Sofia, Bulgaria from a fellow musician :) I watched more vids from your channel - you are amazing and now you have a new subscriber.
I loved when you made it a round at 1:12. As captivating as this piece is on its own, that trailing voice instantly made it feel less spectacle and more participatory, if that makes sense. Maybe it just took me back to choir practice from my old school days, but for whatever reason, that made it seem more personal. I'm always engrossed with this song, but that feeling of direct involvement is what I enjoyed most about this interpretation/arrangement.
Bravoooooo 🤍💚❤
Che posso dire? Complimenti!
ВАААААААААААААЎ 😍😍😍😍
Wow! Pure, mesmerizing perfection! I'm a fen now <3
While listening to this amazing performance I was wondering:”why this man is not famous?” “Who is he?” Then at the very end I noticed his almost undetectable foreign accent and was gobsmacked and moved to tears! Beautiful!
Luca, you interpreted a complex Bulgarian song in the most incredible way. You made it sound different and very modern! Bravo again!
<3<3<3
A versatile musician! Bravo Luca! I like your music.
Hi ivan, thank you so much, I'm glad you like it, hope to do some more in 2025 :D Cheers
Sei un fenomeno
I'm not a musician 😅 but I think your performance is creative and full of feeling, the right one. I'm just curious: how many voices have you recorded for this video? Thank you.

Браво! Чудесно изпълнение!
I loved your inset of Shaun Martin. And - yes - I was also making my stank face! :D
Epic rendition to an epic song! You pushed the harmony even further on a few spots. Loved it! At some point I wanted it to go full Jacob Collier😅 Great job!!
Rollercoaster of emotion! I got goosebumps, bobbed my head and cried. WOW! JUST WOW!
Awesome! aha
Incredible performance and choice of song! Thank you!
I just danced around to this and couldn't believe what you've achieved here! Amazing! What about Lingus? :)
Amazing 😍Bravooooo from Bulgaria!!!!
Hi! I like your stuff! Any plans to put it on Spotify? I would definitely give a follow. :)
Do you also dance, maybe with Hora Za Horata sometimes, Plovdiv?
Excellent! You have a huge talent and a great voice!
Soo good. So well
Wow, as a Bulgarian I really enjoyed that version. Well done !
GOOSEBUMPS
😍🔥🔥🔥
You can really appreciate here the effect of using the same voice for the whole choir versus using different persons voices as a choir. Although this is very well done and almost impeccable, I lean towards the tonal colours of different persons singing. Beautiful strange music, isn't it?
how is it possible this channel has only 1.3K subscribers???
Wonderful performance! Also, great work on the pronunciation! Bravo!!!
@@stefantsarev4442 Thankyou Stefan, pronunciation was the hardest part :)
