Union Pacific's Wasatch Crossing!
Back in July, I explored Union Pacific's Mainline across the Wasatch Mountains in southwest Wyoming and northeast Utah. Union Pacific runs dozens of trains a day across this important line, which remains critical to the American economy over 150 years after it was built. Come along as we explore this iconic portion of the original transcontinental railroad!

Mainline Action on Mullan Pass!
มุมมอง 452ปีที่แล้ว
Back in July, I visited the Montana Rail Link's former Northern Pacific mainline across Montana. One of the most intense parts of that corridor is the mountain crossing between Helena and Garrison, Mullan Pass. Mullan Pass is one of the last places in the Western U.S. to continue to use manned helpers, many of which are seen in this video. This video covers the day I spent on the pass, as well ...

Montana Rail Link's West End!

This past July, I made a trip out to see the Montana Rail Link in what are likely its final months of operations. I started on the west end of the system around Missoula, following the line eastward towards Laurel. This 3-part series will cover my trip, starting with a chase of the Gas Local on the west end from Missoula to Thompson Falls, plus one other train (there was a lot of trackwork goin...
BNSF Trains Across the Beautiful Montana Rockies!

In July of 2022, I spent some time trackside along BNSF's Hiline Subdivision just outside of Glacier National Park in northern Montana. This line crosses Marias Pass, which, albeit being one of the lowest points on the continental divide, is home to some amazing scenery. The Great Northern Railway under the leadership of James J. Hill chose Marias Pass due to the fact of its lower elevation com...

Reading & Northern STEAM DOUBLEHEADER!

A double-headed, steam-powered Iron Horse Ramble in 2022! Who would believe it? As crazy as it sounds to imagine such an excursion happening in the 21st Century, the Reading & Northern Railroad ran a doubleheader on August 13th, 2022. Several of my friends and I chased the train, led by engines #2102 and #425, from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe and return. About a million other railfans joined us ...

nice tour for sure. But you really need to study up more on the B&O history and their cars and cabooses. You have quite a few dates incorrect as well as the box cars information as well as other information through out the video incorrect. Like at time point 5:08 that first box car with that special roof was a special service car, it is not an earlier version of the M-53 in front of it for instance. You will learn in time. Study up and also join the B&O historical society and you can over load on information about the Best and Only RR. :) As to the C&O/B&O Merger from Wikipedia and all B&O records "C&O continued to be one of the more profitable and financially sound railways in the United States, and in 1963 (not 1958), under the guidance of Cyrus S. Eaton, helped start the modern merger era by "affiliating" with the Baltimore & Ohio."

The A B unit. I think its an EDM f8 or f9 A&B i do you know what # the B unit has? I know the A is 270. I usually the B units had a differing number. I want to make a Ho scale model of it. I looked high and low for an actual model of it but none in HO scale. I got a news letter from train world the model train store in Brooklyn where i grew up and it had 2 reading and northern freight diesels. The Green ones. In HO with DCC and sound values. That got me looking the A&B unit.
