I believe the Factorum ships are set to target medical stations.
You might want to use landing gear to attach the interceptors to your ship and undock them after you get close to your target. Less chance for them to wander off and get lost.

"ship fuel low" "ship fuel Critical" I think the ship NEEDS a bunch more batteries to make it "happy" and shut it the hell up.
One change I would make is setting the Gatlings to target enemy missiles. Factorum seems to like to use missiles. If the gatlings can destroy the missiles you will be spared a bunch of damage.
You can increase your production speed by adding additional build and repair modules.
If this is your first time with build and repair, you can also use it to grind down as well. Can set a colour and when painted and in range, will grind down blocks/grids
You're the first person I've seen that on capturing the Warship has taken it back to base. Everyone else has just stripped it and left the carcass where it was. I wonder if the encounter includes the arrival of the 'Reclaimers' after period of time and they simply spawn wherever the Warship happens to be.

You could've grabbed the reactor in lieu of the batteries and saved some mass. Likewise, the small hydrogen tanks combined have less mass than the single large one. Other that that, congrats on beating the challenge. I was worried when you decided to go to the last site after losing half your craft! I hope you have enough O2 in the cockpit to get to the moon. :)

I know this has already been recorded but I have seen others have some success with attaching decoy modules? beacons? (what ever you call them) on little wings off the side. The sacrificial wings sometimes take a hit before the main body of the fighter does. Doesn't always work but diverting one or two hard hits to secondary parts could help you last longer in a fight.
It is something I have considered, and may incorporate into future vessels. Although, if I remember correctly, decoys only work on turrets? Will have to experiment and find out.
Rather than trying to make a welding arm work, why not use Build and Repair? It would allow you to concentrate on your build layout while the bots fill things in for you.

I don't know if you are already aware, but were avoiding it for the sake of the game-play, or if you might not be aware: The drones are spawned because of the antenna signals (the combination of them being owned by SPRT and the signal name). Shutting down the antennas stops new drones from spawning.
True, but the drones make it a bit spicier.
The Alley Cat could use a bit of a redesign. The conveyors and other equipment need some armor protection so that you don't have to keep repairing them. Adding a few more guns would be a great help.

you should build another grinder drone and have it work from the other end of the ship. that way you can grind a ship down faster.

Nice on the 2nd run. tho im surprised the base didn't fill in. I have seen those fill back in void made for the encounter when the timer is up. On another note... there is a stealth option with that encounter :)

Pretty simple inside. cargo containers for each turret, reactor for power and hydrogen tanks for boost thrust, with barely room left for a control seat. All wrapped in heavy armor.

So rare that there is a moment in every single video of any creator that i instantly think of the like button. I'm quite the airhead so moments like this are extremely important for me to remember the like button. 20 minutes in, joke flies. Like button engaged. Its that easy for this guy.

Do you use the AI defensive block on your bobcat fighter? If not you should. Gives your turrets a longer range to engage enemies
Also add a projector to each ship, blueprint ship, then after a battle turn on projector while in the welding bay
That is one of those things that I forgot in the original build, and I usually think of it when heading into combat, lol.

Great idea for base building! I'm going to use your idea for ships to take on the Factorum, jump in with a carrier then use a non-jump heavy hitting ship to take the Factorum out. I love the music during combat!
Re-using what I find saves a lot of time and materials, alowing me to focus on other things. Glad you are enjoying the music.
I'm generally not a fan of Railguns, but if you're skilled at kiting enemies, they can be quite useful. Get a target to pursue you as you move away from them at max speed, while keeping near max weapon range. They become sitting ducks as you're able to disable your dampers and orient your ship, optimizing your firing arc, while their weapons struggle to reach you. It's very "Rocinante versus Pella," if generally somewhat slower and less flashy, but still effective.
I will have to keep that technique in my toolbox. Thank you.

The colony ship reminds me of one of them blue ships with the metric tonne of solar panels at the front from WAY back when... so when i saw this it gave me nostalgia from my own roleplaying days back when the game released that desert world... pertam i think it was called? As we used the rusted texture on it and dismantled some of it before we started a roleplay and used it as our home base to try get it spaceborne (we modified it prior to have hydrogen thrusters able to be placed instead of ion thrust) sadly... my roleplaying days are gone and done given life happens... and friends leave... but seeing that colony ship brought back fond memories of a better time...

I'm pretty sure it was a small grid missile with a warhead that hit you. Those things are nasty. You got hit by one and the other missed at 18:16
