With that size tire, flip your axle to the top of the springs to lower the trailer frame a bit. Easier to load/unload the boat.
You did such a awesome job from start to finish have sumthing to be very proud of hope you keep it a long long time give to your son one day .or if not let me know if you ever decide to sell it 😜 . Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thanks man! Definitely proud of it. I'm toying with the idea of selling it. Where are you from? What's your email?
Taco makes boats rub rails all different ones you can pick they are the best and most all boat repair and boat shops buy from them they sell other stuff for boats as well look them up.
I should definitely look it up, thanks for that tip
What the name of the color please it's look like red orange ?
Hey David, the paint is Fire Red from total boat
Why does it hiss when pulling the string... My 212 makes that noise but still, start-up.
That's most likely the sound of the compression stroke you hear through the exhaust.
Great video, always wondered the best way to do this.
Certainly here to help 😊
Great video 👌👌
Thank you 👍
good to see your back. good video
Thanks John, 😀
Genius!
Thanks Lydia! 🥳
That is fast for that ol thing. I just acquired a 1993 spx very similar to that, just needs a few parts can't wait to work on it this winter.
There definitely fun little things.
I have a 1990 seadoo sp but the guy told me he put regular in it and blew it up so I’m wondering are they supposed to run regular or mixed fuel? It’s now rebuild that’s why I’m asking
I don't see why you couldn't run regular, I've run both. He might have blown his up due to a failed oil pump, maybe starve the engine of oil? Not sure, but it doesn't make sense that it would blow up just using regular
I had a 1967 I believe it was it moved with 25 and 35 we put a used 40 yamaha short foot on it the first day we tried the motor I hit 35 with the gps and then found out the plugs where bad when I changed the the hual shot out the water so quickly and got up to 39 the next day my dad went bought a brand new 50 for his boat so I couldn't leave him behind as easily when we went fishing 😂😂 I miss that boat it was a great boat.
Haha what a great story, that's funny. Ya these boats are so light. I'm wondering what it would do with a 50hp
@Project2Potential I'd probably hit 45-50 with a 50 on there you'd definitely be the first at the good fishing spots 🤣🤣 my dad knew a guy that put a 75 on his and put all the controls in the center and turned it into a racing boat he said the back of the boat was all that would ever touch the water thats the only time I've ever heard my dad say he'd be scared to drive something 🤣
How did you do when you connected the water to the ski?
I used a hose attachment that came with the ski.
I still can’t find where it gos lol I think I might have the wrong one bracuse I can’t find a small enough inlet to attach the hose attachment.
Bom dia, veja o vídeo ( fly brasiliense), homem não usa compensado para o espelho de popa e nem madeira para fazer a estrutura da caverna do barco ( ele tem um canal no TH-cam ( fly brasiliense).
Thanks I'll take a look
A little late to the party.. but, what kind of fiber glass resin are you using? Looking to make similar repairs but have not worked with fiberglass before.
haha welcome to the party! glad you could join, for this part I used the Total Boat 5:1 Epoxy mixed with wood flour and White Glass Microspheres. I bought them on amazon
Excellent work.
Thanks man!
i have the same ski it’s turning over but won’t start fuel tank is clean so is the oil tank both are running through the fuel lines just can’t get it to start help please
I would start at the carburetor. Give it a thorough cleaning. Also remember these jet skis are naturally hard to start, I have to pull the choke and pin the throttle while turning it over for a good 20 seconds before it starts.
I was interested in your content but couldn't stay engaged because of the background noise I guess these days they call that music
Yeah, I guess some do.
Have you deleted the oil tank and put mixt or do you use it?
I use the oil tank. The oil pump seems to work fine.
@@Project2Potential Okay, Just wondering I have the same modell and dont have any spark you know why
@@isakvikstrom2743 It could potentially be so many things, I couldn't tell you right off the bat. But I'd run through and check the Coil, stator, kill switch, safety harness switch, bad grounds, bad spark plugs, bad wiring.
@@Project2Potential I think that the coil was the problem
MBI, JAARS; A&P ?
Haha, yes. I graduated from MBI with my A&P
I just finished binge watching your series on this boat. I myself have a 1969 model of this exact same Silverline Swift boat with a 1969 Evinrude Ski Twin 33 hp motor on it. I watched to see what the guts of your boat looked like and what you had to do to fix it. It was very illustrative what all you found. And your boat turned out fantastic. By the way, my boat still has its data plate and I found some sales brochure information on this boat. It’s factory rated for up to 50 hp. I bet you would get a bit more spunk with an upgrade and maybe 35 mph out of it with a lightweight 50hp. The previous owner I bought the boat from water skied with their whole family on board. I was skeptical, but I see you also were able to ski behind the boat. This is a great looking boat out on the water. Mine is the original aqua blue deck and interior with the sand color (kinda a seashell soft white) hull. The Evinrude is the dark semi metallic blue with the white engine cover with the red Evinrude decals and the blue carburetor and pull starter access door on the front. It came with electric start. I too still have the original windshield and it looks great. Do you still have the boat or have you moved on to something else?
That's great! It'd be cool to see pictures of your boat, I also saw a brochure advertising 50 horsepower for this boat. My 1994 40 horsepower though does a pretty good job keeping this boat at speed even with four people in it. I do plan on selling it soon though, but it's all about finding the right buyer. This is more of a unique boat that not all people would really appreciate. Thanks for watching all the videos eh. If you ever have any questions? Feel free to email me at project2potential@gmail.com
Could you please post a video detailing where all of the different hoses go to and from? There isn't any for this ski and the manual isn't very clear.
I'll see what I can do
The 14 foot is the gunwale length. Not the centerline length. Measured from the front along the rub rail to the transom. That will get you your 14 foot length. Or close enough to it. It was a common way to measure boat length at the time.
Did you figure out why it’s sputtering ?
I believe the lean/rich mixture wasn't adjusted properly.
How did you clean the glue off the gunal ?
I believe I used acetone
lol buy a floking kit and do the inside for some vevelty luxury, trash style.
Best to replace the drop cloth again. With it moving chip can break off and get into the paint.
I wish my FBO had a paint booth.
What rebuild kit did you use
I found this one on amazon. a.co/d/29pyqJc
I’m looking for the same choke shaft and plate. Where were you able to get it?
I bought mine on ebay. www.ebay.ca/itm/313060481881
GREAT,,,,
Thanks man!
Amazing transformation. I sure enjoyed this project. Thank you
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awsome work and I love your wingman 😂❤ Paint job, paint job, paint job👍
I have a trihull with fiberglass floor I just picked up for very cheap but has soft spots and I’m terrified watching this vid. It’s a 1973’ 14ft. Feeling like giving up before I even pull the floor up.
Hey man, I know the feeling! To be honest, after I tore my floor up I almost brought the boat to the dump. I was really discouraged. But I'm so glad i pushed through the rebuild and didn't scrap it. If you decide to go through with your floor repair you can email me at project2potential@gmail.com if you have any questions. Also where are you located? If your close enough maybe I could come to help.
How much does that beauty weigh after the reno???
That's a good question, the engine has definitely added the most weight, It performs well though. I often think it's a little overkill and should perhaps downgrade to a smaller short shaft motor. But that's also a lot of work and money haha.
throw in a car backbench
Interesting idea!
nono dont wash boat then paint it must dry for many days
The boat dried completely before paint. :)
You should put some nice decals with a paint job that has sparkles 👍
new paint!
Make sure you dont start flowing water until it is started and stop the water before you shut it off… Its really bad to have water running without it running
good point! I learned this after It ran. it doesn't look like a ruined anything though.
I have the same boat in my yard
Nice! does it need any work!?
your kido is get so big since your boat series haven't seen it hopefully you still have it keep up the good work
I know eh, It blows my mind how fast he grows. Yes, I still have the boat, still looks as good as when i finished it
that's awesome maybe once I get my boat done can maybe take it on a vacation and meet up
NICE!!! Solid work man! That's gotta feel great!
Hey thanks Rick! It does feel great! you also know the feeling eh! Haha 😉
Love how the whole family comes out to see it fire up
It's was quite the exciting experience for sure!
JETSKIIIIII!!
I'd love to see it all painted up. Would add some new character to it. Plus your lovely boats just going to show it up 😂
I think I'd like to paint it to! Your right the boat would show it up! Haha. Maybe I'll paint it the same!? 😀
@Project2Potential I think that would be the obvious choice. Altho you could always do something abit different but use the same colours I suppose 🤔
where are you finding parts? im working on the same jetski
I bought the carburetor kit from Amazon and other random parts I got from the hardware store.
❤
Glad you enjoy it! 🙂
i watch the whole series and wow i have been looking to get into my 1960 mfg and u have showed me a little more then other videos I have watched learned lot's wish I could post a picture in comments of what my boat looks like but good job sir great work looks amazing would like to know where u got some of the stuff for yours so i can add to mine little bit jealous there guess i better hit the internet harder
Glad you enjoyed it! If you want to send me pictures of your boat you can email me at project2potential@gmail.com
