The MICF has worked with Ziweto Enterprises Ltd to set up a manufacturing facility to produce animal feed supplements and premixes in Malawi. The company has expanded its network of Ziweto agro-vet shops throughout Malawi, thus allowing farmers in various parts of the country to access the new products.

With support from the MICF, Global Seeds Ltd have developed a smallholder led groundnut seed supply chain for the improved varieties; CG9 and CG11. Seed procured from the supply chain, which includes an integrated traceability system for quality assurance, is processed in a new facility and sold to a range of customers throughout Malawi, via an established distribution and agro-dealer network.

The MICF has supported Naturals Ltd to establish a smallholder supply chain for baobab and mango raw material for the scaled production of a range of value-added products, including juice, powder and oil, by the company.

With the support of the MICF, Estrell Trading has developed a business model to process and pack peanut butter into lower volume sachets, making the product more affordable to low income households. In addition, Estrell has integrated smallholder farmers into its groundnut supply chain and provided them with inputs, seed and targeted agronomic services.
