Pharmacists in the public sector are essentially just qualified cashiers-nothing more. Don’t even try to argue they need a doctorate because they certainly don’t deserve one. If a pharmacist can pass off their responsibilities to a PA, then those PAs deserve the pay, not the pharmacists. The years of “medical knowledge” that pharmacists supposedly studied for are clearly useless if they’re willing to hand over their tasks to someone else. PAs are meant to work under pharmacists, but if clinics and pharmacies are understaffed, that’s just overworking the PAs-so pay them appropriately. Now, let’s address the question no one wants to ask: Why the hell are pharmacists making more than nurses?
@glorioseuhuhire4022 haha wow thanks for your comment but you sounds very angry. Why? Maybe change your perspective. I think you are looking at the visible tasks and not the intangible ones. Verifying pharmacotherapy is a specialized skill. Caring liability is a specialized skill. Both examples are "invisible" to an onlooker or even PA. Payment is not according to physical labor else cleaners and builders would be millionaires. Ask an anesthesiologist why they charge 10k for 5 minutes of induction? It's the same principle. Much payment is to prevent "what can go wrong" as opposed to just performing a task. That said: you need to visit actual proper pharmacies that are not corporate pharmacies to experience the dull scope of a community pharmacist. Drug reviews, adjustments, interventions, screenings, councelling and consultations are tasks you'll never see in a corporate pharmacy because the owner care more about pushing number rather than pharmaceutical care. Also.a PA could never perform those because of lack of knowledge and training scope wise.
Good day please assist with accredited short courses that one can take for RA

Really enjoyed watching this!🤗❤️

What would you advise I do? Masters in clin pharm (3 years) or mbchb (4 years). Im interested in clinical work
Hi Patricia. Could you possibly explain this video a bit more? I'm confused as to what you're promoting here..
All medical aids will hit you with high double digits increases and cut benefits every year and when you need them they will deny, defend and delay.
This is much needed youtube video. Thank you . Looking forward to many more of the sort
Wonderful interview 👏I wish more Pharmacy Students could be more involved and engaged in such conversations in steering the field/s of pharmacy forward. Amazing work Pharmers!
#FIP 2024 was a fave🎉
Need material for south africa pharmacy exam
I have a technical question, and I think you're knowledgeable. Which sector is more grounded in the pharmaceutical/pharmacology side of pharmacy as a career path, QA or RA? Are there other sectors in pharmacy, other than clinical pharmacy, that are more theory-based? Thank you, Patricia.
Hi Patricia, could you share more detail into what you are talking about. I'm kinda lost😢
@@lindokuhlesonteya6435 there's a board notice by sapc sent regarding pharmacists needing to help patients ... full video will come
The big question is that why most pharmacists who owns community pharmacies shy away from compliance coz they know very well that they need to register as tutors and their pharmacies training facilities, mxm its worrying a lot coz some of us have been operating their practices without qualifications, I wish the council can allow us and everyone who is interested and love to become a registered pharmacist Assistant to go ahead and study even without been working in a pharmacy like it was before they amended this new law.
@paulnyathi6857 yes there is a new course which is not based on in-service training. Honestly report such pharmacists and pharmacies... you will still get another job
What was your favorite event or moment of 2024?
Thank you for this video ❤
@@lindokuhlesonteya6435 thanks for watching
Have you ever had to quit?
Yes. January 2024, and I do not have regrets.
@lunathimangqunge4160 what happened
It's common practice in the townships. Do inspectors every pick this up? Do they act upon the shortcomings? You'd wonder how a situation goes on like that for 20 years.
It's ridiculous. They even had Grade A certification so you know bribes were flowing somewhere
I never worked in RSA, worked both in Botswana and Lesotho its common in both countries Botswana is better. Lesotho is worse, to an extend tt I told my self I will never work in someone's retail either I worked in NGOs or government Hospitals
@danielsekhonyana2752 that's really sad. Pharmacy has to arise in all African nations and become compliant in communities
This course should be phased out and they need bring back the pharmacy technician course and make it a diploma. Assistants are just used for cheap labor technicians get paid way more.
God bless you
Morning is there a yearly increase on these medical aids
@kedibonemmalegogela7075 yes indeed there is
One question, can i open a pharmacy with a pharmacist bachelor? Loveed ur video btw 🤍
yes. Thank you
Good interview i also have the same sentiments with the guy there, if the curriculum can be changed a bit to make students to be exposed to the practical work it would be easy. the same way Nursing students do their rounds at different health facilities it is the same way we should be taught too much theory with little practical work is not as effective.
Nice Interview 👏🏾
Such a good interview. Thank you so much guys. If you'd like us to come to your campus next year, please email us!
