A selection of videos from the different projects involved in the Inner Forth Futures partnership, formerly known as the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative. Round the Inner Forth (NCN76) Route
Take a ride through Scotland’s rich history and industrial heritage on this two-day tour around the Inner Forth Estuary.
A new brand and logo have been developed for this National Cycle Network route in 2023/2024 as part of the Climate FORTH project. This was made possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and from the Scottish Government through Sustrans Scotland’s Network Engagement programme.

One of my favourite route. The variety of scenery is brilliant. Doing it clockwise from Edinburgh (via Dalmeny). Great for casual cyclists are plenty of train stations / escape routes on the way if any issues.

My father was an underground miner there for 22 years starting when he was 14 until we came to Australia in 1972
my grandad was killed there John Morrison
My dad was a miner there for years. Ended up at the Cape doing roofing batts after he lost a finger, being crushed off by coal. My uncle John Shearer lost his arm there, first day on the job. Died instantly from shock and blood loss. Historical, but not to user friendly, back in the days of no OH&S. I used to live on Polmaise Cres. I hope to get back there for a visit next June. Great video by the way.

Are there any plans to make Kennetpans distillery look better? I did a 3 mile walk to get there and was saddened to not be able to get close to the distillery or barely see it through the tall grass and reeds. It would be lovely to see it tidied up a little and get a proper idea of what it was like when that area had industrious activity.

My grandad used to work in valleyfeild pit... in 1973
That was very interesting video about a tragic story.I just recently learned one of 35 deceased men was a brother of my great grandmothers.
Just a shame the bird viewing hide is not in the best location in relation to the sun and people have been shooting/hunting the wild life down that way. ;-(
