I have been planning to do this with various tools in my shop that have dust ports of varying sizes. For my table saw, I will try to adapt something to the outer diameter. Maybe a 2 inch pvc coupling or 2 1/4 or 2.4” might work. Size i used to work on cars, I have an exhaust-pipe expansion tool somewhere in my garage. I think mine is a Lisle 32500 TAILPIPE EXPANDER. I believe i paid something like $25 for it 20 years agp, but a quick online search shows it selling for $80 now- wow, that’s expensive. There might be a cheaper option. For reducing outer diameter, I might get an “exhaust band clamp”, which is like a really wide hose clamp. So you could try to expand a smaller pipe over the outer diameter or else use the exhaust band clamp to clamp the hot pvc end to the outside diameter of the cast metal exhaust port while the pvc is hot.

I used to fish by the dam as a kid. Purple fly tipped with a minnow. Drop it down to the surface of the water so the bait is about 6" under the surface. Walleye for days. I'm in my late 40's now and my boys want to take the trip there..lol

Thanks for watching! The plans were unfortunately made up as I went although I did base it off a few other designs I found on youtube. It will depend on your needs for work surface and height. The journey was fun and don't be afraid to just dive in. Referencing the joints amd general methods of construction will get you there.

Which way are the arms supposed to be situated when the wipers are off? My wipers keep going all the way down and getting stuck, preventing them from going back up. My arms seem to be out of position but I can’t figure out what starting position they should be in. Looks like your arms are close together where the brackets are pointing left. (?)

Just purchased a used boat (I/O). Took it out for the 1st time today to see what she had. Pulled HARD to the left at speed. I was basically wrestling the wheel to the right just to maintain a straight heading. Pretty sure it wasn't my steering hydraulics because at lower speeds, it was just fine. I didn't have to wrestle the wheel. It went straight no problem. After watching your video, I went and had a look at the trim tab. It was angled to the right. I simply losened the hex nut and angled the guide edge to the left, same direction the boat was pulling. I didnt go to much, just a bit to the left off center. Fishing opener here in MN is in a month. Ill find out then if it helped. I have a feeling it will fix the issue. Thanks!!!!! Very easy to understand video

If you want to expand the outside diameter instead of reducing it, heat up the pvc as you did and then slip it down over the neck of an empty wine bottle to stretch it to the diameter you want. Be sure to drink the wine first.

Thanks for the informative video, Mike. The setting of the tab is a little counter-intuitive. The immediate thought I had with my steering pulling to starboard was to set the tab so that the trailing edge of it was aiming to port. When thinking a bit harder on this I thought the opposite was the way to go. After a while smoke started coming out of my ears!! Thanks for clarifying. In conclusion: Steering wheel pulls to starboard, then the trailing edge of the tab should be offset to starboard.
