Lithography Fundraiser
LITHOGRAPHY WEEKENDER FUNDRAISER!
As many of you will be aware Leicester Print Workshop has over the last 15 years gradually gained international recognition for its lithography expertise and we are now keen to improve our facilities.
With this in mind we are very excited to learn that one of these sought after small hand-offset presses has come up for sale. If we can raise sufficient funds this will be a wonderful piece of machinery for the workshop to have as a resource, both for our lithographers working with photo-lithography, and for anyone who loves to work with monoprint. But we need your help to raise the money.
The press will cost £2500 and we will need to match that for the cost of specialist engineers to move it from Somerset to Leicester and set it up.
We’re staging a full weekend of events as well as a prizewinning Raffle to raise these funds, calling on the support of LPW artists and lithographers over the years. So please join us, share our campaign, consider making a donation and celebrate making lithographs at Leicester Print Workshop! All proceeds will go towards a new hand offset lithography press for all to use in the studio.

Such a great video Peter, I'm totally inspired for ideas now not just for but for work. You go go through your processes so clearly. Thankyou 😊ps. What is the magic yellow tape called again? Jo
I can't take my eyes away from the Columbian press in the background!
Thank you very much ❤ 🙏
Thank you so helpful
Excellent tutorial showing so many ways of working the plates. Beautifu,l delicate results.
THhis is excellent. You are explaining and demonstrating everything so well. Thanks. :-)
So glad I came across your video as I am just starting out on my collagraph printing learning. Very helpful and clear video. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. Love the tutorial. Inspiring.
Thank you for the clear video. It is a bit clearer for me to try like this.
hi, just wondering are you using acrylic paint or acrylic screen printing ink?
Hi, we are using System 3 Acrylic paint mixed with an Acrylic medium
tres interessant merci
Thank you so much for this demo. I have learnt a lot.
Thanks for a really helpful tutorial, lots of fun to do now
Did you reach your target and obtain the press?
Hi Anne, sorry for the late reply. YES! we reached our target. The offset litho press is being very well utilised in our studio.
Monoprinting is so magical!
Fantastic work. Thank you so much for showing this video.
Fascinating.
Great demo. Thank you. What is thar print press called?
Really enjoyed this John with lots of useful tips and techniques
Merci pour ce partage magnifique 😊
Acetate sheet: perhaps taping it to the table would make it stiff enough to work though?
Fabulous
I watched this video twice, and the second time I took careful notes. I then followed the instructions and inked up an old collagraph plate I had, one that I had only had modest success printing in the past. This time the print was *perfect*, frame-able. The technique of using trimmed paintbrushes to apply the ink, and putting down a layer of black ink first made for an exceptionally rich result. This has been a turning point in my printmaking. I wish Serena would post more videos (please). One question: vaseline is added to ink (I use Akua) to make a final top layer that doesn't mix with the layers below. I skipped that because the I wasn't sure about how do that. What proportions do you recommend? Thank you so much, if I were in the UK instead of New Zealand I'd be at your workshop.
Very informative and encouraging--there are 'hundreds of ways to ink a collagraph plate'--so calming to know! Thank you!
"Mono prints using the silkscreen process" is the proper description
That was terrific - great informative delivery! Thank you very much.
💐🌻👏👏
Lovely lesson. Beautiful outcome! Thank you.
thank for your clear demonstration which gives a lot df ideas thanks for this share ! iam such in the moo d to experiment this technic Marie
Great video. Thanks.
Wooow, so many ideas... It makes me want to start monoprinting ☺️ Maybe I can mix that with my linocuts ! Thank you so much for this video.
Very good demo. Loved it.
Thank you 🥰🙏🌟🎶🌈
What is the black pencil you are using please? Lovely work!
So helpfull hints and details. Thanks a lot
Very clear demonstration with instructions
It's one thing to have a mechanism that functions to press beautiful works of art . . . but it's a whole other thing when the press itself is a beautiful work of art. I'd say you've earned a just reward for joyful toil . . . now the past is made relevant again.
Thank you Nicola, for being so generous with your ideas Loved the Video with clear instructions. Cannot wait to try the different the different techniques
Too much talking
Very inspiring! Thank you Nichola.
Nice and clean! What is your plate polishing technique?
Terrific - so much info, so many ideas, demonstrated so clearly in such a short time!
5% art piece 95% room
Really enjoyed this video, thank you very much.
Hard to see
This process seems more complicated than necessary.
👏🏽👏🏽
If the Professor is quiet...IT'S Okay (yes. I put it on mute before I get comments)...the process is...well Thank you.
You mention loosening the blue ink with Vaseline. Does this work like extender? May it be used with Caligo safe wash ink?
Beautiful art
