Health equity is health care. That visionary theme echoed across the Palm Springs Convention Center on March 25, as nearly 1,000 guests gathered for 2023’s The Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards (AKA The Chase), the annual gala and fundraiser - presented this year by Eisenhower Health - that has raised millions of dollars to support DAP Health and the people it serves. I was not treated fairly during my employment at San Francisco Community Health Center. The program manager did not care about my personal development. I was not given opportunities to apply for supervisor position, the program manager did not like me and promoted someone who worked for the company less than one year and far less experience. I felt heartbroken and ashamed by a company I loved so much. I worked so hard for this company, I showed up hour early almost every day, I volunteered for events Pride March, Folsom Street fair, Show of Hope, Trans March, Trans giving, I wrote all the treatment plans for the program and designed a training curriculum only to find out I was being undermined and set up for utmost failure. Not one person stood up for me, not the administrators, not human resources. They just turned a blind eye as I was harassed out of a job by one person who did not like me and did whatever they could to show it. As a Licensed professional of twenty years I have never experienced so much shame and retaliation from the same people I supported. The time I spent working, volunteering, serving your clients was unremarkable and in vain. My message to the management is to implement fair hiring practices and equal opportunity workplace whereas individuals have opportunities to grow and evaluated for skill set and experience, not personal preferences and prejudice. Static, typical, unimaginative. Should be outer space on earth. Diagonal lines, seating mixed into garden, sculptures, asymetrical arrangements and textural heights. The plants and desert ARE other worldly. Why stick to boring traditionalism when you have such a landscape? Why pander to mindless Los Angeles culture and boring English Gardens? Looks like a big box garden department. Drop some acid and rethink the look.

@@LetsGowithLani part of the Wyler Scott series. I found I could read some of it at Smashword.com for free, so I read some then got the paperback at Amazon. It is a series or appears to be. It looks like they used Tahquitz a lot in that series, because a main repeatng character is a Cahuilla Indian.
