@@nielsottens8046 No, that's ok, because the temperature only drops to 18 degrees for a short time and not all the time. In nature there are also constant fluctuations. The neons in the video have been in this tank for 3 years (winters). ;-)

@@relaxing_water_life7245 yes I'm aware of the fluctuations 😄. Was just wondering how cold they can take it. I knew they could be fine at 21 degrees but didnt know 18 was fine too. Cool to know 😄 I have an unheated tank too but only fish from the rio paraguay in there, like black neons, serpae tetras, apistogramma trifasciata etc. Nice to know there are more options for a future setup 😄

I think the neons will tolerate this without any problems if it is only for a few weeks. Fish are more robust than most people think. :-D I have 2 Platydoras costatus, for example, and they supposedly need a temperature of over 24 degrees. I was a beginner at the time and got them as a present. I wouldn't buy them today. Anyway, due to an "accident" my tank cooled down to 14 degrees one winter for about 2 or 3 weeks. That was 30 years ago and these two fish are still alive and vital. ;-)

Thank you. :-) The aquarium has 79 gallons (300 litres) of water. I change the water about every 4 - 6 weeks to 20 - 30 %. Sometimes I change it after 8 weeks or more. This depends on how the water values are. The filter is called "Oase BioMaster 600". The aquarium is NOT heated. It is at room temperature. I also add a little CO2, but not very much. I hope this helps you.

Hi, the swordtails only hunt small baby shrimps. But they leave the adult shrimps alone. In addition, the shrimps still reproduce very well because there are enough hiding places for the babies. That is important.

You must mean the plant behind the compass, which is also on the left-hand side, right? That's a Cryptocoryne, but I don't know exactly which one. I bought it over 20 years ago. I suspect it's a Cryptocoryne wendti. The aquarium has about 79 gallons = 300 litres. Most of the fish love the current. Especially the brown ones with the red stripes, they are "Danio choprai" and they originally live in rivers.

Yes, it's also very reassuring when you work or study on the side. :-) And the story about the island communities is super cool! Yes, maybe I'll create another decoration with pirates later. Thanks for the idea with the lookout. Hahaha... But there are definitely other themes planned, such as a Buddha scene or SpongeBob. And of course a purely natural aquarium. I'll just experiment a bit. Have fun looking at it. :-)

Wow! Thank you so much for this lovely compliment. I love my hobby very much. I'm currently working on a new, even higher quality recording. There are also new fish to be seen. This video here is already 2 years old and an aquarium is constantly changing ;-)
