I think I have finally found the most optimal way to record the highest audio quality of my motorcycle. A Tascam DR-05X is recording the exhaust and engine sound and it is placed underneath the passenger seat. RAW Sound of the Kawasaki Z650RS while riding and on the move. As usual, all audio was recorded using a Tascam audio recorder and remote mic was used to get maximum exposure to exhaust note.

This video is meant to help you in evaluating the sound of the OEM engine and the stock exhaust note. A Tascam audio recorder was used to capture a high quality audio track. When I get a chance, I will record the engine exhaust sounds during acceleration and deceleration.

I bought a new but old stock 2017 VFR1200XD in 2022. In the beginning, it was an intimidating bike because it is big, heavy and very tall. I could barely tip-toe when coming to rest. I'm interested in buying one but the sound from the exhaust is awful. Back in the 80s I had an XS650 with megas on granted, but the sound was amazing. Seen videos of different exhaust systems for the Z650rs but all sound awful and tinny
good informed video, agreed with your comments on the lovely all rounder aspects of the bike, i am a light guy 61kg so standard set up ok for me up to now, mpg i get good fuel consumption 48/52 most time's so happy with that, it all depends on how you ride,😃

I ride the '23 black Canadian model. Love it. Sound is addictive, throaty and throbby enough for me. Note: a worthy mission, but capturing bike sound is difficult with wind noise and variety of gear used. Good on Ya.

Have to be 200% Alert on a motorbike. Those horns sound great. The video image quality is top, if I was you I would work on the microphone and sound next. 👍 What software are you using in post edit?
Apple Final Cut Pro was the main software. Yes, I tend to dislike talking while I am riding but I guess I can voice-over.

Isn’t the ride home after picking up a new bike just the best?? Love my 2018. Get the maintenance videos from Cruiseman. If you are handy and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, I promise they will save u tons of $$- especially these days when it seems impossible to find a good technician.

What windscreen is that?
That is a Honda OEM windshield from the 2021 CB650R. It's a drop-in exact replacement with no modifications required for the 2021 model year.
Enjoyed the video. Regarding the rear shock it can easily be adjusted to take account of our different rider weights and I am quite happy with how mine is now dialed in (after some trial and error). Regarding the right hand throttle grip I believe they have to have some ‘loose-ness’ to allow for expansion of the metal handlebar tube ends due to heated grips & hot weather making them expand. Too tight would run the risk of the throttle sticking open. Triumph had a problem on their T120 models when released in 2016 ( ask how I know…..)
Yup, I'll continue to explore the adjustments of the rear suspensions. Glad the looseness in the grip isn't anything to worry about. Thanks for the validation.
