The prequels are inferior to the original trilogy but they are still decent and pretty memeable in a good way. The sequel trilogy is just objectively terrible and no one will look back at these movies and think they were good.

I was 9 or 10 when the the force awakens came out and I hated it as a kid same as 8 and 9 when prequels came out the internet was just getting started so fans could not voice there opinions mainly critics but today the fans are able to be very vocal and the fans don’t like Star Wars even the people like me the kids that the sequel generation was made for dislikes the sequel’s

One thing to consider is that the prequels only started to get re-evaluated after the 'prequel era' was over. Lucas is no longer in charge, and the problems of the Prequel Trilogy are very much in the past. The Star Wars content being made now is not plagued by the same issues that the prequels had. In a way, that's all ancient history and easily forgiven now it's over. Unfortunately, it's not the same for the sequels. The trilogy is over, but the 'Disney Era' is still going, and a lot of the same issues that plagued that trilogy (creative differences behind the scenes, lack of long-term planning, lack of consistent creative vision) are still plaguing Star Wars today. I think the sequels will only be re-evaluated in the eyes of the fandom when the problems of the Sequel Trilogy are no longer present in the new content, when the 'Sequel Era' is officially over.

Not at all. The storyline is a joke. They made Anakin's redemption a joke. Why would Luke do that to Kylo when he was so adamant not to kill Vader. It makes no sense to his character at all. They had so much material from the comics to not mess it up, but they did. I can think of 5 different plots that would've worked better. 1-6 always. I will never watch 7-9 again. I will give props to the series Kenobi and The Mandalorian.

The sequels are already been forgotten, while the prequels while controversial always had a good share of audience and hype and lots of replays on tvs, and famous attached series (clone wars), and geberally speaking people were still attached to the franchise. Nothing of this sort can be said for the sequels. It is also objectively a worse story, with worse characters and writing, then even the actor that were in it shitted on the film (Mark hamils First and foremost)

No, because the sequels have very little to do with the Skywalker Saga. It's like a whole different story. Plus the way Luke is treated in the last Jedi is upsetting.

I don't think I could get over the convoluted return of Palpatine in Rise of Skywalker, how it took away from Rey's realization of her parents being nobodies, how in the novelization explained Palpatine's return as him actually being a clone, which by the Clone Troopers' relationship with Jango Fett would mean Rey fought her uncle, not her grandpa, especially since her father was a clone too.

There's another factor that makes these films age worse than the prequels. While the prequels go from worst to best, the sequels go from best to worst (my favorite is actually TFA, but I'm talking about general sentiments here). This makes them better at the box office as people get hooked by a promising first film, but makes them worse in terms of legacy.

I don't like the sequels because they are not sequels but remakes. A remake is the wrong way to make either a sequel or a prequel. Nevertheless I have to recognise the sequels are much better executed than any of the George Lucas' SW movies in technical terms. Perhaps that will endure.

I don't think so. The prequels became definitive Star Wars for younger kids because there was so much prequel stuff coming out. Games, comics, two successful animated shows. The Sequels on the other hand have gotten barely anything. And what little they have has been shared with other eras. Not to mention that there has been loads of prequel and OT media coming out at the same time. So kids today have no reason to see the Sequal era as definitive when it's among so much non-sequal stuff to watch as well like Mando, Rebels, Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Rogue One

People dislike the prequels because the movies were simply not that great. With the context of the shows and all the exapanded universe stuff from the games the movies are better and more engaging. The new movies are pretty much soulless with nothing new to offer. Also the fact that the last Jedi takes place right after episode 7 and then episode 9 is years later isn’t helping things

Hi there! Full disclosure, yes, i am one of those people who strongly dislikes Disney's sequel trilogy, this was an interesting video nonetheless. And yes, fans getting a little bit crazy is nothing new. You would think people could keep their tempers in check over the years... However, just a thought to put to you about these points, because I daresay the Sequels will age similarly to the Prequels to SOME Extent, but not the same one as the Prequels had, because: 1-Do people really think the Prequels are good now? Or have they just put their problems with it to rest and embraced them despite any flaws? 2-Can a Clone-Wars esque-show help the Sequels as the Clone Wars helped the Prequels? TCW had the advantage of it only needing to stick to the single vision of the Prequels, but put that in a better light. A show like that for the Sequels somehow needs to balance the three separate visions of the three films as they were at odds with one another. 3-Will the kids of the Sequels have a bigger voice than they used to? The Prequels came out only at the dawn of social media, and even then just on the precursors to modern social media. Most prequel kids would not have been avle to voice their opinions back then. But the Sequels came out in the modern social media landscape, and while the younger kids naturally would not be (or should not have been) on such platforms, the older Sequel kids would have been on and defending it in greater numbers than the prequel kids would have. 4-The Force Awakens is by far the most popular of the three sequels, but will the others get the same love? Speaking to some friends I know, they still regard TFA fondly, but TJ remains divisive, and TROS gets little love at all.

People did not like the prequels because they were different not because they were bad. People hate the sequels because they are just the originals remade with a lot of plot holes and inconsistentities. The prequels were a different story that was expanded and is still being expanded.

I don’t think they will unless Disney expands upon the sequel trilogy era. I think one of the biggest reasons the prequels have become as loved as they are is because that era was expanded with video games, and TV shows like The Clone Wars which allowed the audience to really start to care about that era a lot more
