Jawhar is a cold weather place in Palghar district, about 140 km from Mumbai. The special attractions here are Old Palace, Dabhosa Falls, Shirpamaal sanctified by the foot of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sunset Point. Tribal culture can also be seen closely in Jawhar.
But in this vlog we are going to visit the Kalmandvi Falls of Jawhar. So let's start the vlog.
Kalmandvi Falls is about 8 km from Jawhar. The nearest place is Kelicha Pada.
If you enter the location of Kalmandvi waterfall on Google map, you can reach this place without fail.
After turning right from the main road, the initially good road becomes unpaved. No problem for bike riders. But further the width of the road decreases, in some places there is only space for one car, so if possible, the car can be parked beforehand and walk a little further to save the trouble ahead. There is enough space near the falls for car and bike parking.
Kalmandvi is a confluence of two small rivers. Due to the construction of small dams on the banks of both these rivers, there is water in this waterfall even in summer. These rivers flowing from the mountain slopes have a great speed during the monsoons, so by cutting the mountain slopes, there has naturally been a flood here. It has to be called the magic of nature.
The waterfall and its surroundings are as peaceful and beautiful as they are terrifying as the formation of mud makes it difficult to gauge the depth of the water. So it is convenient for non-swimmers to stay away from it because all the puddles here are deep. During the monsoons, this waterfall turns red and there have been some unfortunate accidents during that time.
Nowadays some people organize camping or day trips here and provide life jackets, ropes for the safety of the tourists so that even non swimmers can enjoy this place.

जव्हार हे पालघर जिल्ह्यातील थंड हवेचे ठिकाण असून मुंबईपासून साधारण 140 किलोमीटर अंतरावर आहे. इथलं विशेष आकर्षण म्हणजे जुना राजवाडा, दाभोसा धबधबा, छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या पदस्पर्शाने पावन झालेला शिरपामाळ आणि सनसेट पॉइंट. जव्हारमध्ये आदिवासी संस्कृतीही जवळून पाहावयास मिळते.
पण या vlog मध्ये आपण जव्हारच्या कालमांडवी धबधब्यास भेट देणार आहोत. तर चला मग vlog सुरू करूया.
काळमांडवी धबधबा हा जव्हारपासून साधारण 8 किलोमीटर अंतरावर आहे. याच्या नजीकचं ठिकाण म्हणजे केळीचा पाडा.
Google map वर काळमांडवी धबधबा असं location टाकल्यास न चुकता तुम्ही या ठिकाणी पोहोचू शकता.
मुख्य रस्त्यावरून उजवीकडे वळल्यावर सुरुवातीला चांगला असणारा रस्ता हा नंतर कच्चा होतो. Bike रायडर्स साठी काही समस्या नाही. पण पुढे रस्त्याची रुंदी कमी होत जाते काही ठिकाणी तर एकच गाडी जाऊ शकते इतकीच जागा आहे त्यामुळे गाडी शक्यतो आधीच पार्क करून थोडं चालत गेल्यास पुढे होणारा त्रास वाचू शकतो. गाडी आणि bike पार्किंगसाठी धबधब्याजवळ पुरेशी जागा आहे.
काळमांडवीला दोन छोट्या नद्यांच्या संगम झाला आहे. या दोन्ही नद्यांच्या पात्रावर छोटी छोटी धरणं बांधल्यामुळे अगदी उन्हाळ्यातही या धबधब्यास पाणी असते. डोंगरउतारावरून वाहणाऱ्या या नद्यांना पावसाळ्यात प्रचंड वेग असतो त्यामुळे डोंगराचा कातळ कापून निसर्गतः इथे घळई निर्माण झाली आहे. निसर्गाची जादूचं म्हणावी लागेल.
हा धबधबा आणि याच्या आसपासचा परिसर हा जितका शांत आणि सुंदर आहे तितकाच भयानकही आहे कारण घळई तयार झाल्यामुळे पाणी किती खोल आहे याचा अंदाज काढणं मुश्किल होते. त्यामुळे पोहता न येणाऱ्यांनी यापासून लांबच राहिलेलं सोयीस्कर आहे कारण इथली सगळी डबकी खोल आहे. पावसाळ्यात हा धबधबा रौद्ररूप धारण करतो आणि त्यावेळेस इथे काही दुर्दैवी अपघातही झाले आहेत.
आजकाल काहीजण इथे कॅम्पिंग किंवा एकदिवसीय सहल आयोजित करतात आणि पर्यटकांच्या सुरक्षेसाठी life jacket, दोऱ्यांची सोय करतात जेणेकरून न पोहता येणाऱ्यांनाही या ठिकाणची मजा घेता येईल.
या धबधब्यावरून आपण सहज उडी मारू शकतो असा कॉन्फिडन्स मनात ठेवून मी कडा चढून वरच्या बाजूला गेलो आणि 20ते25 फुटावरून खाली खोल दिसणाऱ्या डबक्यात बघताच तो माझा ओव्हर कॉन्फिडन्स होता हे कळून चुकले. पण काही झाले तरी आज उडी मारायचीच असे ठरवून आल्यामुळे वरच्या बाजूला असणाऱ्या छोट्या डबक्यात तीन चार वेळा उडी मारून मी अर्धा तास मनाची तयारी केली. शेवटी धबधब्यावरून उडी मारलीच, पण gopro ने दगा दिला. उडी मारतानाचा व्हिडिओ अर्धवटच आला. नशीब खराब आणखी काय म्हणणार. संध्याकाळ झाली होती आणि पुन्हा वर चढून जाऊन उडी मारण्याची ताकदही माझ्यात नव्हती त्यामुळे परतीच्या मार्गाला लागायचे ठरवले.
काही मंडळींचे टेंट्स आणि जेवणाची तयारी बघून मित्रांसोबत पुन्हा या ठिकाणी कॅम्पिंगसाठी येणार असे मनात ठरवले आणि कालमांडवीच्या या निसर्गरम्य घळई चा निरोप घेतला...
