I wish Havering Borough Council (Romford Essex) had as much dedication to cleaning our Roads as you do up in Chelmsford
I start tomorrow as a loader. Great videos. Theyve been a real help.
Glad you enjoyed it, stay safe out there.

Why is the ignition underneath the steering column? I know some manufacturers put them on the left but I’ve never seen one underneath.
That look nice to drive looks nippy as well
She certainly did rip along, one of the older vehicles compared to the 2018/19 vehicles in the rest of the fleet. No ad blue & DPF perhaps? I don't remember.
@@wheelerd02 ok thanks souds nice to
My dad does class 2 driving for DW Clark and sons
I know of them, yellow Volvos/Scanias near Maldon. Did a day's agency driving for AJ Ostridge driving a DWC Volvo. The air seat kept dropping as you drove and raised at random.
@@wheelerd02 that’s a classic Volvo 😂
Do you work for Vectare? and if you do have you driven any of the old central connect liver CE21,CC21,CE71,CC71 GAL?
I do work there, yes. I have not driven that part of the fleet no. Vectare (now Central Connect "Transport Made Simple Group) acquired CC/Galleon Travel last year. That operation is based near Stansted & Harlow and, as such, is operated as a different part of the business. I once shunted their Optare Metrodecker CT21 GAL into the workshop at Stansted. Interesting, and I would say high spec interior for standard service work. Comfy seats, squashy headrests, phone charging, etc.
@@wheelerd02 What you think about driving CT21?
@TheHertfordshireSchoolKid very brief, very slow movement. Handbrake on between _every_ gear selection.
Hello pounds happy Monday
A Happy Monday (now Tuesday 12th) to you friend.
i like the sound of the elite 6 engine
Agreed, but the Daf CF I drove at Castle Point council (Canvey Island/Benfleet, Essex) were better. Especially the older, fully yellow vehicles. th-cam.com/users/shorts-fjMr8ZeoCE?si=L5d3q9PvpTVWDIq2
Just went to a cars and coffee when I heard someone rev a Crown Athlete/Mark II (unsure which model) to redline. Never heard anything so buttery-smooth before!
1JZ-GTE, lovely engine
Lovely car my brother had one of these back in 2003 kept it standard but they were quick little hot hatches. 😊
Haven’t drove on my class2 for few years got a bit of nerves 😂😂 but your videos helping calm that hopefully should be on dustcarts for local council soon
You'll be fine. It's this kind of work or 18t curtain side that most HGV 2 start on. Mind that swing, look after the loaders, and don't be afraid to abort if reversing looks too risky
Awesome vlog keep them coming Doing my d licence on November 11th 5 day course Passed my CPC case studies and theories test hazard perception Practical tests high chance be a tourismo or plaxton learning coach Lots family stuff need sort out 😂 Costed me nearly £2.200
Thank you for watching. Congratulations on your success thus far. Why have you not joined a company and let them pay for your licence?
Chelmsford!!! i have been there a lot
A fine locale
How many miles do you get on a full tank? And what mpg do you get? Thanks
Hello, approximately 420-440 miles on my normal daily commute with weekend errands. Got 480 miles once with a holiday and slow cruising. 60mph indicated cruise control (real world 55/56mph) on dual carriageway and motorway use. In urban areas try to keep the Eco Metere beneath the capital "E" to get the electric motor to take over. Real-world MPG is a dependable and repeated 51-53mpg fill to fill. Average MPG, according to the computer, over thousands of miles is 56MPG. However, computer readouts are often optimistic. An 1800cc petrop automatic car with 17" wheels and a big panoramic roof giving 50mpg is quite satisfactory for me. Smooth drive, effortless and quiet. Love it.
@@wheelerd02 thanks mate, I’m looking at getting this or most likely a yaris hybrid for driving instructor and also daily driving too. But maybe a diesel, although i think the hybrids are pretty cool how they work
@AaronKundi Toyota Hybrid would be a very good shout. Safe, reliable, economical, and easy to drive. They perform better in lower speed urban environments on account of electric motor use. Although very economical, they aren't best suited for long-haul work. Driving instructors going slowly with pupils would be ideal.

Hey mate one quick question for you, how there is no winning noise in your bus? Globally all the scania buses I've seen used to make this kinda some extra sound other than the engine sound, but this one is absolutely quiet, even scaina's new touring model does this. Could this be something to do with the irizar build?
Quite possibly, sir, 5 cylinder engine, coach comfort & insulation is probably why it is so quiet. Couldn't comment on what gearbox it had, probably a Scania on. Whatever it was, it was smooth and nice to drive.
Looks delicious 👌
It was very good.

is that just paper or is it mixed recycling? I drive a split wagon, tins glass plastics in one side and paper in the other. use slave bins for paper
Recycling was done on split vehicles in Chelmsford. Glass & tins were loaded on side hoppers that raised up on the N/S and went into the vehicle via the roof. Paper & cardboard were loaded on split pack rear loaders. 60/40 split paper N/S chute and plastic got the majority share. Cardboard had their own vehicles from memory, conventional twin bin loading.

Poor labrador..nothing for the lab?
A collie cross indeed, my friend. Lacy ad already blasted through her 1/2 of the ribeye steak with great haste. What Lola (daschund/cokerpoo cross) didn't finish, Lacy got given afterwards. Don't worry, neither dog goes wanting. They are fed raw full-time and are loved very much.

It has taken us a few weeks, but I think we have gained their trust. This wee fella follows us like a shadow on our evening walks. Tantalisingly close to our dogs who often don't realise how close the fox has gotten. We have hand fed them dog treats, and I have videos of them biting my shoes and pulling on my trouser cuffs.
Cromers a lovely town as you may know plus you get a good show out on The Pier at least we did in 1996 last time we were down that way. Plus Sheringhams a lovely Coastal town along with Kellingheath Caravan Park which we always used in the late 80s last time being 96 as I said Buddy. 👍
My lady, the hounds & I visited Kelling Heath this time last year indeed. A colleague owns a holiday renta that he let us use. Quite so friend, we lost him 12/8/24. His rear legs couldn't take it anymore, and we had to make that most difficult of decisions. Is it all ways that quiet?
No, this was shot on a mid-morning run during the school holidays. Otherwise, it would have been _very_ boring watching me get stuck in traffic waiting for multiple traffic light loops.
Your videos are great I am new pass and starting next week to drive a bin lorry what advice would you give to me mate if any cheers
Thank you for watching, and congratulations on your pass. 1: Take your time, don't rush. You are in control of the vehicle, not the loaders, pedestrians, the office, and certainly not impatient motorists. 2: GOAL! Get Out And Look If unsure on reversing, check your surroundings first. Always take the shunt forward if needed. 3: Work with your loaders. They are your colleagues, family, counsellors, and your responsibility. Their safety trumps all. 4: No bin is worth smashing up cars or worth risking colleague safety. Can't get in safely? It gets left behind. Tell the office that it's their problem to deal with. 5: "Plenty of chances to do it right, one time to fuck it up". 6: SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY. Waste management can be a very hazardous game. Please do whatever is needed to mitigate risk & hazard. 7: Beware of street furniture. A lot of incidents on buses & HGV happen under 10mph. Street lamps, parked cars, building overhangs, etc. are all things that CANNOT move. 8: You aren't there to impress anyone or show off. Get the motor back how it left with all occupants safe. 9: Bin lorries like buses are essential but forever in people's way. No one respects the task you're undertaking. Expect people to piss you about constantly, dangerous overtaking, speeding, blocking reverse manoeuvres, etc. 10: NO PHONES! No discussion, severe penalties await those who dabble. 11: Keep your eyes moving. Foreground, background, near, far, N/S, O/S, rear camera. Static, developing hazards and loader position. Use reflections in buildings and moving lights for peripheral vision. 12: Hi Viz at all times and DECENT safety boots. Your feet will thank you later. (Vionic Insoles, the green ones approx £40 are fantastic, trust me). Stay safe, enjoy, and take the experience on board. Get back to me and tell me how you get on. X
