Hello and welcome!
This channel is primarily focused on providing video tutorials for Blender, but I also use Plasticity, Marmoset Toolbag, ZBrush, 3D Coat, Photoshop and Autocad. So you'll probably find some random videos for those programs as well, along with the occasional Turntable rendering or animation.
So, enjoy! And let me know if there’s anything you would like to see covered in a video and I’ll see if I can make it happen.
Also if you use any of the techniques shown in my videos, tag me on social media so I can see what you're working on! I always love seeing what other people are doing. And if you want to see the things I'm working on, follow me on Facebook and Instagram where I post "work in progress" images and previews of upcoming videos, as well as news and information from the world of 3D.
And of course, if you appreciate my content, like and subscribe and feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

Great tutorial, thanks!
Thank you!!!!!! This was EXACTLY what I asked. You're the best. I'm watching it over and over!
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Is there a way of bringing the model into Fusion and then exporting to an FBX from there into Blender?
I don't use Fusion, so I don't really know for sure, but after doing a little reading, it looks like Fusion can import DWG files, (as long as they are 3D solid body models), and it can export FBX files, so that should work. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
Hey, I was just wondering if it's possible to take that flat model and wrap it around a curved object like a cylinder or a sphere?
Hi Molly, that's a great question! The answer is yes, but it will require a little bit of work to make it happen. I'll make another video to show the process.
@@roddeweese6402Thank you! I can't wait!!!!!! 😊
Hey Molly, I just uploaded the new video. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Muchas gracias por compartir esto con detalles y herramientas gratuitas!! saludos ahora estaria bueno saber si es posible trabajar con imagenes complejas que no sea tan facil de vectorizar como las que se puede crear con las imagenes AI
What kind of images? If you can point me to some complex images, maybe I can do another video. I'm sure the basic technique would be the same, you just might have to do some cleanup on the image in Photoshop, or GIMP or Krita, before vectorizing it in Inkscape.
Duuuuude. Looks awesome.
Excellent tutorial! I will definitely subscribe, it has been very helpful!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Looks awesome as usual!
Thank you Molly ❤
How can I import it with the materials?
Sorry but you can't. You will have to apply materials in Blender.

If you ever wanted to know how to make chains that you can manipulate to fit whatever scenario you're creating then this video is for you. In this video I'll show you how to create a procedural chain in Blender using a curve path and an array modifier. It's really very simple, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
In this video, I'll be expanding on my previous video where I discussed basic material setup, and I'll be showing how to add dirt to your model using the gradient node. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you're feeling confused and overwhelmed by the node editor and you're not sure how to get started setting up a basic material, this video is for you. I'm going to show you how to easily set up a material with various texture maps and mapping nodes for color, roughness, normal, etc. By the end of this video, you will have a solid understanding of the node editor and basic material setup, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you've ever wondered how to create a spring, or any type of spiral object, this video is for you. And not only will I show you how to easily create a spiral, I'm also going to show you how to create glass and chrome materials with the node editor. I have over 35 years experience working in Autocad, so if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
You make it look so effortless!
Thank you Molly! ☺
I'm having troubles with trying to scale faces. I'm using my Mac Air which does not have a number pad and while I hold both control and press the minus key twice it only zooms out and does not select the number of vertices. Are there any alternatives in achieving this step? Thank you!
Yes, if you don't have a number pad, you can go to the "Select" menu at the top, then scroll down to "Select More/Less" and then you can choose to select "More" or "Less". Hope that helps.

That was brilliant. I'm making a geodesic lattice sphere that uses the same construction as the football so this has been a great insight into how to do it more easily. Excellent tutorial Rod! Just the info I was looking for. Subscribed.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Great video. Is there any benefit to choosing the bind xrefs option?
Thanks! The "Bind Xrefs" option will do just what it says. It will gather all your xrefs and then instead of including them in the zip file as external files, it will place them all inside your main drawing as blocks. I don't personally like doing that, and my clients typically want the xrefs as separate files, but I encourage you to experiment. Try it with and without binding and see which works best for you.
it doest work for me with 4.0as soon either I select scene world or not quality is same as it is selected, in viewpoint it is realistic but in rendering all shadow and texture gone.
I'm not sure why that's happening? I'm currently using 4.1 and everything works fine. Are you using Cycles for the rendering engine? It won't work in EEVEE. Also, select the ground plane, go to Object Properties and open up the Visibility section. Make sure "Show In Renders" is checked. If it's unchecked, the ground plane won't display in the Render.
This was one of the best tutorials!! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Can share also the model with full material from autodesk to blender with this app?
Sorry but I can't share the model.
@@roddeweese6402 I meant we can also import models with the material in blender from autodesk?
@@Extremer0.0 Oh, sorry. I misunderstood. I don't think materials can be imported from Autocad to Blender. I'm using Autocad 2023 now and it doesn't allow exporting to FBX format, so I can't do any testing, but I think you would have to create new materials in Blender.
Could you please one video explaining about drawing view in autocad 3d, for example: when i was working on 3D, i drew something, it drew in the wrong view and the lines were in the space somewhere. thanks
