Can I use this same step with the cricut maker 3 ? What’s the mat called u have under the vinyl ?
I believe you can but I’d have to look it up the mat I’m using is the mat that came with the machine when I got it. The cricut air uses a cut mat in order to work. I’m not really sure on the maker 3 but I would bet you can make stencils with it.

So it takes about 3 thick coats of clear to completely cover the bubbles?
Yes 3 to 4 coats gives you material to sand and buff it out if needed. Here is a video I did on sanding and buffing if you need that info. Thanks for watching I truly appreciate it.

Is there anything you can use if you’d wanna do this on a vertical surface… like a boat?
Good question the challenge is every surface has to be flat in order to let the droplets not move
New subscriber, I am looking for a removable vinyl, tried Cricut's, but the thickness was too much. Do you know how thick it is compared to Circut's? I am looking to try it for my model building and by looking at the video, it seems very thin. I am just trying to avoid major paint build up. Thanks.
I think it might actually be just as thick. You may have already done this, but have you tried doing thinner coats? I used to paint too thick of coats which caused the buildup issue.
@@reddirtdesigns7021 I’ve been using an airbrush and have found that the thinner the masking material, the less the build up I get. Thank you for the information!
So why not just project directly on the surface and cover sections so there is not over spray...
You can always try it anyway you’d like for me. I found this to be the easiest process, especially when you have tons of different colors and shades of each color as in this video. Thanks for watching.
To avoid the double-image, it's best to do this kind of etching in reverse on the back side of the glass.

Amazing video! Most understandable one out there thank you! Needed this tutorial because I was cutting the stencils out myself with a thin knife, not great for small details needed to make some band patches. Knowing I could do this with a cricut is definitely life changing lol

That really turned out GREAT!! I recently bought an old home that has a 12 pane glass door on the cellar in the basement. It's an odd sized door but fits the frame going up to the dormer upstairs. I use this space for a large bedroom. I put the door on so i could have a door to my bedroom should I choose to use it. I'm in the process of refinishing it and this is SUCH a great idea! I already do this on glasses so i don't know why i didn't think of this sooner! Thank you!! (Not that I expect you to remember after 2 years , but what was the font you used?). Thanks again!

I wish you success in your new life. My question is, does an air compressor that runs on oil affect the painting process, especially if my field of work is painting specifically for motorcycles?
That is a great question. A few of the body shops I worked in all used oil in their air compressors as long as the oil doesn’t leak past the seals and enter the tank you are good to go. You do not want any oils in the tank or in your air hose, one of the body shops I worked in the compressor, went bad and leaked oil past, and it entered the tank, contaminating the tank, and the hose causing fish eyes. I was planning on doing paint and vinyl on inside to ensure noe scratches, my sign is planned from floor and up 2m, and am afraid customers could scratch it, do you see any issues doing on inside with mirrored letters? @@reddirtdesigns7021 I just started airbrushing and I did a Metallica ride the lightning painting and I opened my cretex detail violet and it smelled so bad like sulfer and rotten eggs it burned my throat and I have been throwing up all day have you ever in your professional career had anything like that happen ! I mean it was really bad and got me viciously sick thank you for your advice Marc ( aka EL PADRE AIRBRUSH )
No need to use contour to pull out the offset. Simply pull the offset from behind your image
