First Ever CGI X-Wings!! 1978 concept pitch to Lucas by Information International Inc.
This is a rare short clip of a very early CG test from 1978 for a formation of computer-generated X-Wing fighters, each comprised of around 60,000 polygons. The shot was pitched by Gary Demos, Art Durinski & John Whitney Jr. to Lucas himself, who reportedly stated "that's not my ship", noting that these digital fighters lacked the weathering and rusting and battle damage of his models. Taking these notes on board, Malcolm MacMillan and the team at "Triple i" went back to the drawing board and produced a digital model with improved lighting, colouring, texturing and weathering, which was so ground-breaking it made the front cover of the August 1979 issue of Computer Magazine.

2003 CW Grievous with EP III Voice (Full Re-Dub)
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
So for a bit of fun I decided to see what Grievous from the Clone Wars 2003/4 micro-series would sound like if he had the voice of Mathew Wood from ROTS and TCW 2008. So first I just found clips of every time Grievous says something, then recorded myself saying those lines with a similar syntax and accent to how Wood did the voice. It actually has to be fairly high pitched because the voice eff...

Sam witwer needs to do an action movie where henry rollins plays his dad and they try out do each others intensity and anger...
41:51: that mother**cker Patton. Not happy after the USA had stolen half of Mexico, still goes to Mexico to wreak havoc.. Karma got up to him in December 1945.
He did not say Palpatine makes no sense. They’re talking about how the Sith can’t let go of themselves and become one with the force. They cling to life selfishly and fearfully. It always made sense Palpatine would have a plan for hanging on to all he had acquired, seeking some form of immortality. The problem was the execution. They needed to either partially explain how he survived or how he was able to crawl back from death.
He's a clone dawg. It was adapted from legends
yawn
Painfully boring. A travesty compared to the original trilogy. Way too many scenes of lengthy, pointless, and wandering dialogue.

nice one thanks. not to many ads to spoil film. thank you.
Boring. Not worth Lucas.
Bgest love the tample cuorse of jacal misteri for Indiana Jones i love your movie
🎉😂😂😂😮🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Palpatine is becoming the Freiza of Star Wars
I respect Sam, but the Sith do have a form of an afterlife and can stay alive after they die, but that's done through rituals to keep their spirits bound to objects in the physical plane. This would then allow for them to remain alive indefinitely until someone touches the sith artifact and allows the sith spirit to be absorbed and take over their new host, sort of like a leech.
love the film
Awesome.
The kid looks inbred
😢this nothing like the real ones😢
Very well done 👏..🎉
very bad speech audio. taks away from the movie.
You're not missing anything.
Saying this supports Palpatine's return as being nonsensical is just deliberately obtuse. Palpatine didn't transcend, he persisted. Qui-Gon transcended. Obi-Wan transcended. Yoda, Anakin, Luke, Leia, they all transcended. Palpatine remained, festered, dragged on like a little decomposing rat terrified of the one thing he could never and can never conquer--death. His return makes sense because the Sith have a fundamental misunderstanding of death. It's the great equalizer, the one thing that everyone in the galaxy gets, and gets only once. The Jedi, for all their flaws, accept this as a natural part of life, and the best Jedi have a special commitment to the Force, and to life itself, that grants them the enlightenment required to reach consciousness beyond death. The Sith, however, are terrified of death because all they see is what they can and can't conquer, and death is unconquerable. And because the Sith's principles are based in fear and anger, they fear death because they can't conquer it, they are angry at it, the hate it, and they try everything within their limited view to stop it. But they can't. Because even Palpatine returning to life 30 years later couldn't stay that way. Even in Legends canon, cloning himself and moving his soul to the clone body didn't work, either. Meanwhile, as long as the Forcer exists, Qui-Gon et al will always live on, through the Force and all life that creates it and makes it grow.
Ok but let’s be honest here, his return was just a cash grab for Disney. There isn’t some deep Star Wars lore to back it up, it’s straight up just greed from Disney
@@hugesmjfan8073 One: the line between "cash grab" and "desperation to win back the Fandom Menace" is quite blurry. Two: greed or not, I literally laid the foundation for how canon supports it, or at least once did.
Okay so explain Freedon Nadd existence then. He's a force ghost, that can physically harm or kill anyone if he so wishes it.
You need to include the old man at the museum (old Indiana Jones) talking to the two boys about the jackal with the eyes of fire (before and after the story). Without that, there would be no point in finding the jackal.
These pre Harrison Ford movies are awesome! What a great set up for the movies to come with Harrison! I have not seen these. Treat!
Crazy that George Lucas brought Palpatine back in the 90’s
they just proved why he actually would come back. You're making no sense
The only way I see it making sense with Palpatine’s “resurrection” is by the Dark Empire arc in Legends where he has a contingency plan to transfer his soul through the Force to a Clone body
I hated that arc but at least they tried.
Still hate how they killed Palpatine he died by his own hand literally his own force lighting ended him the man that cause a war played both side with neither finding out a master of the dark side and lightsaber combat was killed by his own handing they did how starkiller did in the end of the force unleashed I would be fine since he would still have to shoot force lighting or he get fried while in ROS he could have pulled a saber and fought rey but they had to be to lazy for that
In both canons, the sith are unable to trascend their flesh to become spiritual beings, at least "naturally". We've seen many instances of siths bounding their spirits to innanimate objects or taking over someone else's body. It makes sense for Palpatine to seek a different way, and transferring his soul/concience to a clone body fits with what we've seen. I like Witwer, but someones he seems to be obtuse about the sequels just for the sake of it.
These are great!
I feel like more people criticize that palpatine returns rather than how he was reintroduced and what they did in the movie, in legends he came back as well and personally i think it was done great dark empire is one of my favorite era's
@@lordwilfried117 I do like me some legends, but I find bringing him back in any form goes fundamentally against Anakins arc. Yes his original return was written before the prequels, but even then it still makes Vaders sacrifice less impacful. He shouldn't have been brought back either time and both are stupid in their own ways.
It still completely destroys vader as the chosen one. He destroyed the sith no matter what you make up. Vader was the last sith after he KILLED<<<<that's right) Palpatine. Vader knew he himself must die as well. Which is why he told Luke to leave him as he was dying.
My young days best movies of adventure❤
Well done sir! What is great about these episodes is that real history is interdipersed in them. Young people watching get historical information without being distracted by it. This was my first time watching these shows. I never even knew they existed. So pleased I came across your channel. Plus-one sub!
@@scottclark1839 that's one of the things I love so much about it. That it's semi-educational, and doesn't take a child's-eye view of politics and history. It's a great way to learn about early 20th century history, through the lens of a fun character like Indiana Jones
His laugh makes my skin crawl 😱
This is such a good description of our politicians: they all steal our chickens
Nah, Maul didn't have his legs cut off. It was his lower torso. You need vital organs to live, dude. Even if they're grazed.
Maybe i misunderstood this clip, but certain powerful Sith Lords (especially from Old Republic/Old Sith Empire era) could exist as force ghosts without need to rely on any physical body/object to manifest themselves, no? They could even took control of weaker minds and "hitch-a-ride", so to speak. So, death is not the end for them either.
This is basically your argument: *"Sith believe that there is no life after death, the opposite of the Jedi; they believe that once they die, that's it.* *So, if Palpatine dies, he's dead for good because that's what Sith believe.* *But Palpatine died and came back, which is not what the Sith believe.* *Therefore, Palpatine coming back makes no sense."* The issue is you are interpreting Palpatine's returning to life in another body as evidence of Palpatine believing in an afterlife. But Palpatine coming back from the dead (clone or not) is not the same as Palpatine believing in the afterlife. If anything, such actions CONFIRM Palpatine didn't believe in an afterlife. *CONSIDER:* The Sith don't believe in finding immortality through the Force (life after death or the "afterlife"); Jedi do. This is what separates the Jedi and the Sith, the spiritual vs the physical. Jedi reject the dark side, accepting the will of the Force to become one with it. When Yoda died, his spirit left his body. That was natural death. Shortly thereafter, his body followed. Like Kenobi, he had trained and accepted the will of the Force, and so his physical form became one with the Force, making him a Force Ghost. That is the "afterlife" which the Sith didn't believe in and the immortality they couldn't achieve. Sith cling to the dark side, which is why they can't ever become Force Ghosts; they are attached too much to the physical world and their own power. This is why everything is at stake if they die, and this is why Palpatine wanted to find the secret to cheating death. (And also why Force Ghosts are more powerful than Sith can imagine). Palpatine sought after immortality within the physical world, so, while literally projecting his spirit from his old body to another clone body by using his bloodline as an anchor did result in Palpatine dying because his spirit separated from his body, it was an unnatural death since Palpatine's methods with the dark side resulted in his returning in a clone body. That's not the same as the Force Ghost afterlife the Sith didn't believe in; It was just a transfer of his spirit from one physical form to another (and an inferior one at that; whereas a Force Ghost is more powerful than one can imagine, Palpatine became weaker, barely able to be considered a Sith Lord). Don't confuse the persistence of Palpatine refusing to let go of the physical world through another physical form as him believing in the ability to transcend death to become one with the Force the way a Jedi's spirit and body would.
There is actually a canon way in which Palpatine could have returned in a way that made more sense. Trapping their soul into an inanimate object before their death. Like in the canon comics one ancient sith tramsferred his soul into his mask before his death. Sidious could have transferred his soul into Vader's helmet. He could have been manioulating Kylo Ren through it, making him think was receiving instructions from Vader. It could have even explained his fall to darkside if Luke kept Vader's mask and then Kylo started hearing what he though was Vader's voice from it. Kylo could have crafted a new mask from that vader helmet which would have allowed Palpatine to control its wearer. Like Kylo or Rey.
Sith don’t want to die. Palpatine cheats death. How does that not make sense??
Technically he didn't die. He transferred his soul to a clone body. This even happened in the books. Albeit, done waaaaay better. Palpatine was always thinking ahead, and was more open about the uses of the Force, even if most Sith didn't believe in the afterlife.
Ok your a dumbass and your title is misleading He didnt explain why palpatine returning makes no sense he explains what happens to sith when they die However both legends and canon have used palpatine returning as a plot point There is even a fucking canon reason how palpatine does it He uses what he learned from plagues increased his knowledge 10 fold over the past decades and used it too transfer is soul or his consciousness into a new form It makes even more sense in canon because he still didnt have it perfected and was practically zombified and immobile and had to do extra steps unlike his master who had it down to a T and could bring people back and repeatedly kill them And using that clip from episode 9 shows how fucking stupid you and the fandom menace are Thats not disney playing it off Its good writing Because thats exactly what someone who dosent know how he returned which makes sense because not only was he not there but he knows nothing about the force It would be fucking stupid if he explained how palpatine returned because he knows nothing and in that alternate universe your argument would have switched to saying how its dumb he knows all that All you people do is bitch and whine about everything that you dislike And treat george Lucas like a flawless writer *even though he isnt as he ruined many great ideas and characters one being general grevious turning him from a warrior into a mustache twirling asthma machine* when you jackasses were bullying him years prior for the prequels *which you suddenly now like* when the prequels werent even bad and id argue great movies Yall just bitch and bitch Yall are like dragon ball fans Yall cant be happy and gotta shit on anything that isnt what you watched first "Somehow palpatine returned" is not an argument and it makes you look like a dumbass to anyone willing to think about it
I mean old republic game did it so 🤷♂️
To be fair, the idea that Palpatine had a backup plan for the case he died makes sense, considering how paranoid, megalomaniacal and resourceful he was. In fact, that exact plot point was handled before in the EU... and just like Disney it was handled... badly, and the storyline remains controversial for a reason. But it's not because it couldn't be done (although I believe it probably shouldn't have been done), but rather because it was presented so freaking poorly that you couldn't take it seriously in any way, and while Ian McDiarmid's performance was entertaining as always, it was entertaining DESPITE the writing, not because of it.
there is many examples of sith's spirits clinging on past death, palpatine is no different
this is even more funny with the Acolyte tv show and how it destroyed the lore even more.
As much as I agree palpatine coming back in tros, this actually makes it make a little more sense. Palpatine believed nothing happened after death and did everything he could to try to extend his own life. Cloning, plagues's technique, etc. all were things to extend mortal life in some way
I don’t like Palpatine coming back, but what Sam is saying completely lines up with Palpatine’s resurrection. Jedi afterlife is accepting and becoming part of the process of life and death. Sith “afterlife” is refusal to die.
Yeah, I don't think Palpatine returning via the force was ever the big issue. It is just the way the writers decided to bring him back that made no sense. And now disney is trying to tie this stupid cloning bullshit into every story they write to make it make sense.
According to Lucas Quigon was also the first to ever achieve this 'force ghost' result. Every other jedi? Gone forever, just like the sith. There is no afterlife in star wars, just a sort of reincarnation where you become one with the force and lose all individuality. Only force ghosts retain their sense of self.
Geez
