A NimbleDingorox production. But not a video. I love this scene in Thor. I really do. I love the emotion that it has and I adore the way Tom Hiddleston portrays it. I really like how he shows his anger and desperation, and finally his worry and fear at the end of this scene, showing that he doesn't truly hate Odin. Could there be any doubt that this is my favorite scene? I didn't actually see i...

So I started watching D. Gray-man dubbed today and I came across this little bit from the second episode. I have to wonder how Haberkorn managed this line. I have to wonder how his face looked when he saw the line. I had to upload this scene to share with other people. Enjoy. :D ~NimbleDingo

~*~ PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION (2nd and 4th paragraphs most importantly) A NimbleDingo production. Sort of. Nothing fan-made this time. This is a short clip from Todd Haberkorn's Q&A panel at ShutoCon this year. I don't remember what the question was exactly, but I think it had something to do with how often he flies around...maybe. I have a lot more videos of this, but this is the only one with g...

    I watch this scene a lot after a few years ago finding my entire family lying about my bio dad They all haven’t treated me the same since and most have lost touch or don’t reach out. Never thought I’d be relating to Loki in this kinda way Also still can’t find my bio dad and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even know I’m alive

      My adopted dad passed away two year ago now and it feels like he was the only one who cared Blood isn’t always family, and family isn’t always blood.

    I don't really, truly consider Loki a villain in the MCU. I just think he's tragically misunderstood.

    You know, I'm not trying to excuse Loki's actions because some things he does are inexcusable; but Odin really played a major role in how unhinged Loki became. He: 1. Lied about Loki's parentage. 2. Taught Loki his kind were monsters which internalized hatred in himself. 3. Took joy in pitting his biological son Thor against Loki to make Thor look good. That left Loki with resentment and a desperate need for attention/to prove himself. 4. Doesn't provide Loki any comfort as he's naturally emotionally distraught. 5. Tells Loki he was a pawn to be used and in Thor 2 tells Loki he deserved to die. 6. Never takes any responsibility for any of these actions. Had Odin treated Loki with affection and proper guidance, things would have never gone off the rails the way they did. In short "A+ parenting" there, Odin.

    Such incredible incredible acting from Tom. What an authentic scene. You can really feel Loki’s anger and disappointment hearing about his true identity. What an actor.

    I’ll die on the hill that Odin was a shithead. Also, the fact that once his harmful actions caught up with him, he chose to let it overcome him instead of accepting the harm he caused and being there for his “son”- yeah, he just wanted another stolen relic.

      @mish375 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He also never took responsibility for the damage he created that caused Loki to go off the rails mentally to begin with. Not excusing Loki's actions but if Odin had actually been a loving father instead of treating him as a pawn and then telling he he deserved to die post-Avengers, Loki never would have went as far as he did to gain Odin's affection.

      @@mish375 true- narcissistic parents raise hurtful and harmful kids.

    • @mish375

      @@simoneblue12 Well they can raise very damaged children. Even growing up with a sibling who is one, I can say that the damage it does having one in the family is difficult to unpack even as an adult. I also have an uncle who married into the family that has a mother who is one. He was diagnosed with PTSD due to his upbringing. So Odin never admitting to his faults and pitting the brothers against each other to make Thor look good severely stunted Loki's emotional growth. Odin's arrogance caused Loki to hate his own kind and he was treated as the lesser son all his life. So it's not a surprise when Loki acts out and craves the attention he never received from Odin, who still treats him with indifference even though Loki is having a literal mental breakdown here. I'm getting the impression that Frigga is the only one who genuinely loved Loki as a son. To Odin, Loki was just a pawn.

    • @simoneblue12
      @simoneblue12 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mish375 I’m sorry to hear you know firsthand about narcissistic abuse. I can relate, I am currently trying to escape it from my closest family members. I hope you are forever safe from it. I agree, I believe Frigga was the only one who loved him, as well. Thor I feel refused to recognize and accept the harm Odin caused his brother because he was blinded by Odin’s love and support. So Thor may love Loki dearly, but he refused to acknowledge his pain, which hurts the most. But, I feel this is a common theme among royalty, in order to breed conquerors over compassionate rulers. I think maybe if Loki understood that in his spite and hatred for Odin, as well as his quest for his approval, he was actually fulfilling what Odin wanted him to become, he may have been kinder, more true to his natural self. Or maybe not- sometimes it feels too hard to be your true self when it’s only ever brought you pain from the ones you love.

    • @mish375
      @mish375 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@simoneblue12 I wish you the best of luck there. I had to go full no contact for the sake of my mental health with said sibling. Hopefully you won't have to resort to such an extreme measure. I think with Thor, it was an unintentional neglect. He was raised to believe he was above Loki and never realized how he made his brother feel with his actions. I put the blame on Odin there for creating that rift between the two. Odin seems the more "tough love" type of father, but he did things that were too toxic in order to try to prepare Thor to be king. (Remember when Loki is pretending to be Odin, he tells Thor that even if he was proud of and loved his son, he could never state that) And unfortunately Loki became a target and suffered for it. Again this doesn't excuse Loki's actions, but Odin was a big part of why he ended up going as far as he did.

    Having Kenneth Branagh direct this movie was genius. His Shakespearian experience really lent itself to this movie and scenes like this. Family drama like this is textbook Shakespeare. We need any new Thor movies to return to this format.
