Parents candid reaction to coming out
I found comfort and courage in watching others coming out, so to pay it forward here’s mine.
If you're progressing through your own coming out journey, you're not alone, there are countless communities in all shapes and sizes that will accept you with open arms.
Coming out can often feel overwhelming, my experience demonstrates it might not be as daunting as you can fear. However for some, it can take time for your loved ones to process, but they will come to their senses eventually. So just bite the bullet and godspeed!
Oh and if you know me and you didn't know I was gay... Surprise! :p

God bless and protect all the LGBT people from all the evilness of the world 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈✝️✝️✝️✝️ In this world full of evilness, hate, jealousy, gossip, envy, sufferment, pain, harassment, discrimination, anger, abuse, murder, theft, rape and endless negative feelings and dangerous behaviors; We, the LGBT people must be aware of the evilness that exists in the world and not allow that anything or anyone divide us, we must always be willing to help other LGBT people and we must not leave any LGBT person alone or left behind 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 We must be aware that we, the LGBT people not only face the same problems and situations that straight people face, but we also face hate for our sexuality, hate for being different, hate for being LGBT, and that is, the hate just for being who we are and likewise we must be aware that not all the people that says that support us really do so 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 I don't care who you are or where you come from or what reputation you have or if other people like you or dislike you, if you are an LGBT person you have all my love and support ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 We can make a difference and be a light of hope to make from the world a better place 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 Never allow that straight men and women divide us 💥💥💥💥💥 Gay Men together forever ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 LGBT people together forever 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️

Well done. I never did come out to my parents before they passed. I was married to my very accepting wife for 51 years before she passed in June 2022. I am 75. I cared for her with MS for 26 years. The fact that I am gay was medically proven in my case during 13 years of reparative therapy which included electronic shock therapy. It was a different era. When I was your age, it was illegal to be gay and I could have been sent to prison for up to 21 years. Many gays were sent to jail.
I send all my love and support to all the LGBT people of the world ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 You all are important and very valuable even though we live in a world that makes you all believe otherwise. Remember always be proud of who you are 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 You all make from this world a better place ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 LGBT people are a rainbow of love in a world full of hate, but with difference of our straight partners, we all are united over a same flag 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 The flag of LGBT love ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 And we all must be united against hate, violence, discrimination and intolerance ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 We all are like a great family and we must fight to destroy hate ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Remember, LGBT people is love and love always wins ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 I don't care about your race, nationality, biological gender, health condition, religion or any other condition ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 If you are an LGBT person you have all my love and my support ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 You guys are not alone in this fight and all the LGBT people of all over the world needs to understand this messagge, cause just united we will win against hate and we don't have to allow that nothing divide us. Never feel bad of who you are and never allow that this cruel world change who you really are or turn off your light and your shine ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 You all born that way and remember LGBT people of all the world, at the end, love always wins ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Good for you. Unfortunately I didn't have the same option and have lived my life unable to have shared such a precious moment with my parents. I am glad you had such an affirmative experience and wherever you are now, you are having a fulfilled and wonderful life.

The one thing I hate about coming out videos is the fear you can see in the person as they are coming out. Like how you were sitting across the room when you told them. Kept them kinda far like two arms length away instead of being close to them like parents and children are used to. It’s the same for os many others and I wish it wasn’t such a big deal. I wish I could take everyone’s fear in that moment and give them the courage of a thousand Greek gods to be who they are and own it. Yep, that’s it. I love you and I’m so proud of you.

Kids these days have it so easy. I was disowned at 15 and haven’t spoken to anyone in my family for 35 yrs now. Good news I get to chose my friends and my family has lost out on so much.
Well done Richard, and what great parents you have. Coming out should not be so difficult. It is so unfair that we are made to feel as though we have something to be scared of, or feel guilty for being who we are. It is not our fault we are attracted to the same sex. Btw you are mega cute. :-)

Understated British way of coming out in just two minutes. No elaborate explanations although it would have been playing on the young man's mind for a long time no doubt. Lots of interest in the door. All the doors in my home are like that. 200 year old originals. People were shorter then. The bedroom doors are even lower.
haha. I was paying more attention to the door and thinking that the knob and lock weren't original to the door.. I paused the vid to study it and forgot i was watching a coming out vid. haha. wonder what the window frame looked like if it was original to the house. as you may have figured out, i am easily distracted. haha

mom thought he was "expelled" and relieved that it was just him saying he was gay!. haha! Dad (joke) "Oh, i thought you were going to tell us you straight!" haha Mom (joke) "I'm missing my show, see you at breakfast!" haha. So British!
Gays who come out of the closet are just about some of THE bravest people i have ever met. And those deeply repressed gays that NEVER come out, that never have the courage, they end up very angry hateful people, then they buy BIG guns, drive BIG pickup trucks, and they vote right wing anything.
