Where do you go to search for conferences and meet new people?
Where can I find those different drone networks where they will hire me as a subcontractor?
So if I have my part 107 and my drone is registered as part 107,when I fly recreationaly does it still need to transmit remote ID if it weighs less than 250 grams.
I just got a fucking headache watching this video lmao shyts crayyy
They look silly wearing those goggles. Just my opinion. I assume there is an alternative option for not having to wear those stupid goggles, right?
Ok I live in Texas. So I have to keep my drone lower than 8 feet on private property, right? So someone with a drone could roll up to a window with their drone and take a picture or video. But if someone takes a picture or video of a roof. They are breaking the law? Is that what I’m getting here?
Even with the obstacle clearance, return to home, and setting the correct return altitude, it's still a heart-in-the mouth moment when that 'lost signal ' message appears...😂
😆 for sure
comment on audio quality: the "gate" is a little too high. Not sure what software you're using but the gate should be bumped down if possible. I listen to your podcast on apple podcast every week. thanks as always for the intel.
Remote ID is Draconian overreach just as it would be if it were in your car or truck.

You guys make this so confusing you do or you don’t? I get point number 1. What about one that’s FPV and 377g do you have to get 107 or is the 107 just substituted name for tax collector because your making money? There’s countless vids on people saying oh you just have to register and then put the number on the tail and you’re good?
If you’re operating for commercial use, you have to have a part 107 certificate regardless of weight.
Thank you for replying, so say if I bought the avata 2 fpv it’s over the 250g if I’m doing it out of joy in my yard I’m alder if I do the trust test?
I bet she doesn't even fly at all.
There is another layer of detection in Las Vegas that tracks drone activity around the airport and the Strip. I was stopped by police during a flight just off the Strip. I landed the drone and provided the officer with my remote pilot certificate and pulled up the flight authorization on my phone. He took down all my info and I got a call from the FAA about a month later. The from the FAA said his system showed me at a height of 397 feet and he could see my flight path as well. Luckily I had authorization up to 400 feet and the matter was closed after I emailed a copy of my authorization. But yeah, at least in Las Vegas near the airport and Strip, they are tracking your drone. Google Las Vegas case study drone detection for an interesting article about the system.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing! I’m not from Vegas but I’ve heard it’s difficult to get authorization there.
10:31 this is not a "pathway" it's an obstacle course designed to ensure failure. I just got a drone and am absolutely beside myself with the level of registration and overreach. I am glad I didn't spend as much as I wanted on the drone I wanted because there's nowhere to fly and you will be harassed by bystanders on how you are being disruptive and braking the law. The ROI is not there in my opinion. You just want to have a good time but you got everyone from the government to your neighbors going after you the second the machine turns on.

Drones need much tighter control because of wildlife and human pleasure (enjoying quiet skies)
There is the this "professional" (?) photographer in my area. Every. Single. Photo. Is freaking blue. And he actually edits them to add even more blue in the shadows and midtones via color grading. I always laugh, because are in the tropics, no one wants to see freaking blue photos that represents the tropics. We don't live in Alaska. And this guy thinks he is the superstar of photography because he is married to an American woman who buy all his gear and also got him a sweet contract with a big resort here in Placencia. But, all his photos are complete shitte.
One thing you should have mentioned: shoot. In. D-Log. This is like shooting pictures in RAW. If you want to shoot pro video on your drone. Make sure to ALWAYS shoot D-Log. Man, I wish this guy would make more content. No matter what you search for when it comes to drones, his content always comes up. And it Evergreen Content.
How many people in the US in the last 10 years, have been injured by drones??? I'm guessing none.
I haven’t heard of one instance outside of cutting fingers from props when trying to catch the drone.

107 cuts down on the competition.
It’s particularly helpful when you live under an airports airspace and just want to fly around your property.
Can I use a mini 3 pro?
Yup. Use Dronelink
@ thank you!
Don't know if anyone checks back ...but David..you still believe it's fine to buy DJI or will I have an obsolete drone if I do due to ban
Howdy. I’m still very pro DJI. I don’t think they will be obsolete. I think they are the best bang for your buck right now, so if you’re thinking about getting one, I would go ahead and pull the trigger while you still can! It’s not like DJI drones will stop working, the proposed legislation will just not allow them to sell drones in the US going forward (as it’s currently written). But who knows how that will exactly take shape.
Thanks for your response. Love DLA...Do you happen to know if any issues with delivery of drones due to customs?@@DroneLaunchAcademy
If you have 107 cert, can you fly higher than rec flight?
Not without an FAA waiver
Mavic 3 Enterprise with DRTK station he mentioned vs the Mavic 3M, wondering the pros and cons
M3M has a multispectral camera (in addition to the RGB camera). Multispectral is primarily used for agriculture
One other point is that the M3E has a mechanical shutter on the main (non-zoom) camera, which is preferred for mapping missions.
Getting good at this. Almost there.

What is a good way to get my work on my website for advertising?
Winds are faster at elevation because there is “nothing getting in the way of it…” that’s the most Kentucky logic I’ve ever heard.
I think DJI could open source some of the code and keep their Cloud Solutions on NSA controlled services like Google Cloud or AWS. Its is likely DJI has contracts with Chinese military.
You can make a Rasp Pi drone just search "Pi Dronegirl". This is funny most cheaper components found in electronics are made in China period. Also, its not just they are "cheaper" - that has nothing to do with the products engineered - they have the skills and the education to make quality products in MASS much like Apple. DJI also has engineers from all around the world. They have R&D office in Japan... DJI has made quaility products for years now. Its clear they are targeting Chinese companies that are several years ahead of the competition.
Why can't we fly at night? Are there any exceptions? Can I ask the FAA? I wanted to fly over the river and get photos of downtown Portland at night.
You can. There are just rules about being current with 107 and having a strobe visible for 3 miles.
@@DroneLaunchAcademy Thanks for the information! I'm total noob.
for a video being 5 months old, i'm surprised you're talking about the dji mini 2 when you have the mini 4 pro out
mini 4 pro isn't great for mapping because it doesn't integrate with any flight automation tools at the moment. The mini 2 does and still works great for small stuff.
Capitalism is working at its best. CAVU
This is pure bunk, a person flying a drone over the super bowl would certainly not have an active remote ID module on board. The simple reason for remote ID is the UAV delivery industry needs this information for collision avoidance and rather than develop it themselves they bought the FAA to have drone pilots provide the information and pay for the transponders.
You know every basic DJI drone currently comes with the remote ID module now, right? And those don’t do any delivery.
My DJI geo zone said I was not in the airspace, all I did was launch and go up about 100ft like any new drone pilot and come back down to then learn after seeing in another app I am in fact in a class d. Only lasted for 5 min and definitely an honest mistake. What should I do?
Look at you grow.
Amazing what you pick up from being around smart people ;)
@@DroneLaunchAcademyyep, it’s OK not being the smartest guy in the room.
DoneLink for automated flights and WebODM for processing works for me. You can also use Maps Made Easy for processing. Although its not totally free, it is reasonable, pay as you go.
