I was flying near an amphitheatre out here and heard the thup-thup-thup before I saw the military tandem rotor heli came over the hill right toward where my drone was - a craft that big was hard to tell how LOW it was, so after that, I don't care to ever try 400+

If you’re just doing it for fun/recreation and no other reason, then you’re fine with just TRUST. Any other reason (freelancing for a client, for instance), you’d need the part 107

Kind of dampens ones enthusiasm for going to federal parks, doesn't it? I think we are now living in the golden age of hobby drones, for it will be closing, clearing the skies for the big money drones and those that take there test and pay the FAA shakedown! It's a pay to play racket with the FAA as the gateway for one can not make money with drones unless one takes the Part 107 test and then pay the FAA shakedown. Then about 99 % of the drone videos here on TH-cam are pushing DJI drones and since China makes all the hobby drones and much of the high end drones, banning Chinese drones and parts will clear the skies of hobby drones for those that will pay to play!

I use to always wonder about that. So many "pro' photographers, will scream about contrast and how it makes the picture professional, or the video cinematic. I use contrast, and as you mentioned, I actually want to make sure that everything in the picture is actually visible.

Very impressive buisness Ryan has made using his m30t with spotlight and loud speaker 200x zoom many more features. If he shows up to a search, i am confident that if the pet or item is in the area, he will find it. If not, then it must not be in the area. I called him and he found a small piece that came off of my airplane and landed in a big field and he found it within 15mins and i would have searched for countless hours or days. Awesome interview 👏 ✅️💯

We generally search for about 2-3 hours and search about 100-300 acres depending on the environment. We like to have a confirmed sighting within 24 hours for the highest chance of success.

The US corporation have no authority or business with what a free man is doing short of not causing any loss injury or harm. I would not consent to victimless crimes where the corporate entity decides to try to act as a man and bring charges. This is not possible under common law, just remember do no loss injury or harm and they can kick rocks with their statute policy & code enforcement, save it for the true slaves which is 97% of the people.

if youre on a budget or just starting, buy used Phantom 4 PRO V2 (about 500-700$). It's a photogrammetry beast even still in 2024. And if you want to do photogrammetry and video only, pick Dronelink. You can automate almost everything, even shooting a facade, which helps a lot (I've been flying manually before)

I just built me a 2.5" dji 03 whoop. I got other drones to teach with, but I think I can get all their games recorded as well to show them what I mean. Even 2 radios to buddybox. Radiomaster pocket for the kids and I just got a fatfish f16 with a analog vrx so I can visually observe as well as have the live feed in my hand. 🧠. I could use a better laptop and simulator tho for obvious reasons.

Clients don't pay for models, they pay for actionable data to make decisions on. While cheaper options allow you to 'make' a map or model, you can't build an income stream off of that. Being able to draw a straight line measurement is not strong actionable data. Conversations like this are frustrating because you are discussing commercial solutions without any discusion about professionals actually use them. Its drone fodder for brand newbies, but not professionals. A more advanced conversation would much more helpful.

If all republicans and these two democrats vote for the ban then that gives them 51 votes. Bye bye DJI, leader of the drone market.
