Great video! I think you are right about needing to focus on the sectionals, metar and regulations too. The FAA puts out all the material to study and pass the exam and if you read through it and stay focused you will pass. I see a lot of complaints in the comments about having to learn how to read charts and weather… I actually think it’s good that the test is not a cakewalk. I learned to fly drones by building, configuring and flying (and fly-crash-build-fly) manually with no autonomous help. These days a person can learn to fly a DJI drone in 5-10 minutes but that doesn’t prevent anyone from doing stupid shite with their brand new first drone. That people have to put honest work and time in to get certified to fly commercially is a good thing that will hopefully prevent more accidents like the one in the SoCal fires when the drone collided with the wing of the Super Scooper Water Bomber. And actually, learning how to read sectional charts is a good thing. Call me crazy but I love seeing how much information is packed into those charts and marine charts. Learn everything you can while you can and maybe one day you’ll grow up to be an interesting person!

That not great advise cause the dji fpv remote is only compatible with dji drone and unless your geting a dji drone its not compatible aith eny other drone and not worth the 235 dollars

Here's what I don't understand. Why can't the FAA create a mobile alert. Like with Amber Alert. If there is a drone operator near by. And for which activity the drone operator is doing. Examples: practice, recreational, professional, contractual obligations So if someone is trying to film for a real estate agent. It should put out an alert in the neighborhood zone. Example of an alert. "FAA alert for zip code 56780." "Drone operator conducting buisness for real estate contract." "Do not interfere with the pilot while operation is being conducted." "Shooting down a drone will is against Federal law." "A civil fine of $5000.00 will be introduced for any damages to the operator or equipment." If you have any concerns, text the FAA thru said app or link." I think that would limit the amount of headaches that drone operator would have. So no suprise rage neighbor I'm calling the police encounters.

No. Besides if the parks have things that we are not “allowed” to see then they need to file for their protected airspace (but have not). Will it cause injury or damage to park resources? The FAA requires waivers for 107 pilots to be able to fly over people or vehicles and as good business practice pilots can be required to carry a $1,000,000 or $2,000,000 insurance policy to cover incidents. Will it be contrary to the purpose that the park was established, upset the peace, the tranquility, wilderness, historic, etc.? Commercial and military aircraft fly over these parks and CRASH in those parks. This claim is MUTE because neither FAA nor the park service can prevent “DAMAGE” nor “HARM” from being committed either from the air nor on the ground. Will it unreasonably interfere with the visitor service or other program activities or administration? Not if the park service works with the LICENSED PILOTS. Any pilot who plans on flying over people or vehicles must also make application to the FAA for waivers (which are most often denied too even though military and commercial aircraft are not required to do the same). Will it substantially impair the operations of the public facilities or services of the Nation Park Service, concessionaires, or contractors? Once again. Licensed drone pilots who file their applications, coordinate a flight plan and agree to film in a safe and non-invasive manner could also be used by the park service to document things like theft, vandalism, and other crimes that do occur in these parks. The park service would benefit greatly from having these companies that they can call upon. Will it present a clear and present danger to public health and safety? This was already asked and answered above. Will it cause significant conflict with other existing uses of the park? No. Most parks fill there day with checking guests in and out, driving the roads and issuing tickets (that’s it). Park claim that ANYTHING that goes against their NORM is a violation. Sorry, but unless the drone pilot is racing through the park, attacking / harassing people and wildlife (which the FAA already has laws for), or trying to cause traffic issues (which the FAA already has laws for) then the parks have no leg to stand on. This is where attorneys need to build case presidents to protect the drone pilots.

As long as the pilot takes off, lands, and operates a drone on land not controlled by the NPS, then it's perfectly legal to fly a drone over nearly all national parks, and the NPS has explicitly said so. The FAA, not the NPS, has jurisdiction over airspace above national parks. Note that there are a few places administered by the NPS where the FAA has banned drone flight (e.g., the National Mall, the Grand Canyon).

Correct me if i am wrong. The national park can only restrict landing, takeoff, and where i as the operator am standing. The FAA controls the airspace and if they dont have it restricted the drone is allowed to fly there. That was my understanding but please tell me if i am wrong.

Did my first real gig 2 days ago and dronelink was phenomenal. I had zero hiccups with it even with mapping on the fly!

So basically you can’t really fly in Texas since most everything is private property. SMH.
