tldr; The issue was the proximity sensor. I opened the iPhone X, disconnected it, and the iPhone worked (without Face ID). I hope this can help others who have the same problem. I didn't cover this in the video, but I used this product to get my iPhone out of recovery mode. It's a paid product, but the part you need to get out of recovery mode is free: th-cam.com/video/hOrgmADvaVc/w-d-xo.html V...

Relief from Chronic Sinus Infection Headaches (see description & pinned comment)

I've been suffering from headaches for over 10 years, and here's a couple of things I've learnt that help me get through them. UPDATE: I've recently gone on blood pressure medication, stopped drinking 2 diet coke's every day, started taking Vitamin K2 and Magnesium supplements. I'm not sure what of those have had an effect, but my headaches are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced, to the point that they're b...

Well I was about to do this but then I saw a comment that said, "Well the 4013 error comes but keep on trying.. And I tried about 5 or 6 times before sleeping at night and it did not happen. I woke up next morning, connected my phone to my PC, tried to again and then finally it worked. So I guess before opening your Iphone, you could try to yk do the itunes thing for about 50 times and I know it's a big number but do try and then if it does not work then you could opt for the method by Andy which also is a great solution to the problem.

Hi andy. I had a few questions and hoping you'll see this. Does using the imyfone software to exit recovery mode erase your data from the phone? Did you disconnect the iphone battery before disconnecting the proximity sensor? And lastly, did you use the imyfone software before or after disconnecting proximity sensor? Any info would be much appreciated, thank you.

Hi Andy. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. My iPhone randomly decided to act funny and slow so I restarted it. I was in the shower beforehand. I did not think it was exposed to any water but I guess I could be wrong. It was stuck in boot mode where the apple logo flashes. Now, It will not leave recovery mode. I tried to update or restore but I keep getting the error code 4013. I am going to buy a phone opener kit and rubbing alcohol. I am going to disconnect the sensor as you mentioned. I am going to clean whatever corrosion has occurred and reconnect the part. We will see where this goes. I do not want to waste time or money on the apple store who will tell me the phone is a wash.

Same exact oven and same exact problem. I've had to do this process yearly for the last few years. However, a second option that works for a few months in between these yearly disassembly process is to switch your main oven breaker off for a few hours - overnight. When you flip the breaker back on, the display will be nice a bright. I can get away with this 2-3 time per year before I have to go with the disassemble routine. The first time you use the breaker trick, the display will come back very bright. The second time it will not be as bright, by the third time, it will have very little effect, and the manual disassembly is required. I would really like to find a more permanent solution. These 48 inch class ovens are extraordinarily expensive. I love this one, and would like to get many more years of service from this one before thinking about shelling out this kind of cash.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree - it's amazing that the only alternative seems to be "buy a new one" - which costs thousands of dollars. Madness. I've thought of recapping the board, as I suspect that may be the issue. I'll try the breaker trick if it has this problem again. So far since doing this work 5 months ago it's been OK.
