Welcome to my channel.
I am Dr. Vasim A. Shaikh. I have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engg. and a Masters in Mechanical Engg. from the University of North Texas in the USA. I have both a Bachelor's degree and a Diploma in Production Engg. I have also worked as an Asst. Professor at Millersville University in the USA. My current research areas include mist and microstructure characterization during machining using minimum quantity lubrication. I am performing research to develop green and sustainable machining processes, which are environmentally friendly and harmless to the operators.
I have started this channel to help students learn at their own pace about different topics I teach them in the classroom. It is also my goal to create a Flipped classroom for my subjects based on these videos. It is also one of the ways of giving back to my global engineering community.

Why ductility increases with grain size refinement it should decrease because no of grain boundaries will be more with fine grain and slip will be arrested means it is stopped by grain boundaries so ductility should have decreased bt it increases with grain size refinement why ?

You can carry out tempering if you need to impart toughness in your workpiece.
@@ProfDrVasimAShaikh But sir tempering is always followed after hardening process where we heat up entire component. But here in case of surface hardening core is not heated up so is it standard procedure to carry out tempering after surface hardening or we can use the component as it is?
Sir,why euthetic reactions are reserved for particular temperature and particular composition. Please throw some light on it
These reaction are invariant reactions that is they happens only at that temperature and at that composition. So if the temperature and composition changes the eutectic reaction won't happen, as simple as that. Of course there will be a reaction if there is a phase change based on temperature and composition but it will not be called as a eutectic reaction.
