If you don't have a slot head screw, then the socket you need is a long and skinny 3/16" nut driver. The "WIHA" brand 3/16" nut driver on amazon works and is pretty cheap.

:( mine is held together by 4 hexagonal head screws. Does anyone have an idea what size bit I need to unscrew them?

Hi, I trying to repair my A901. Speed control is not working, it starts at the maximum speed and no chance to change it. I already changed the capacitors (one of them was blown up) but nothing has changed. Why did you changed, in your video, also resistors and Triac ? they look fine. May be I have to change them as well even if they look fine

I got one for just under £100 and I was using it this afternoon, it was fine for the first 5min but suddenly I can smell something and I saw smoke coming out with really bad smelling gas can anyone help me😢

Incredible. This helps fix my newer model of hoover which has slightly different structure but overall the glitch is the same. I think this is a design flaw but Bosch seems to have ignored it and keep making new generations with exactly the same issue

I"m getting crazy trying to repair my 1600w pure sine wave. I changed almost all mosfet and drivers. I solved the short circuit problem (fuses now don t break anymore) but still 0V at the output. Would please tell me the oscillator quarz piece how many khz is it?

UNBELIEVABLE. I fixed my cutting out vacuum with a paper and some isopropynol alcohol and it stopped cutting in the highest power. I was just about to change the cells to VTC-6 ones, but thanks to your video I don't have to do it.

Ah, magic! My mums kenwood has got stuck on max speed and wont come down from that no matter what the dial is turned to, flings flour all over the place! I'll hav eot have a go and see if I can fix it up for her.

Hi, I note than when you test the motor out of the machine, it has a tendency to "pulse" randomly. Mine does the same (almost sounding like a little 2 stroke petrol engine!) at intermediate speeds but not at min or max. Is this normal? Many thanks for your informative video

Great Video - I have a Kenwood Excel which i replaced the Caps, Resisitor and Triac over 10 years ago. Worked fantastic since. A new problem has just started to happen whereby when i start the mixer at low speeds the speed seems to vary up and down a noticable ammount. However when i bring it to full speed it works fine and when returning to low speed, again it works fine. Wondering what you think the problem might be. I had a spare set of brushes and put them in. (more so in hope than thinking it would fix the problem.....It didnt). They are a great mixer and it would be a shame to have to get rid of it...plus get a great kick out of fixing it.

another top tip while you got the case open is to cover the circuit board and componets with a clear lacquer , as ofen stray water will etch the tracks and corrode the pads and components .. they are not very well built , i think the best one in my opinion is the WV2 but again that suffers with water ingress , so always advisable to strip clean , and lacquer the boards

Mines terrible carpets like a pond, windscreen has about a pint of water on the inside on a cold morning I’ve never known anything so bad. Thankfully mines non sunroof so I’ll check what you’ve shown in this later on bud thanks

Can anyone explain three pin configuration ,i can understand two pins (one marked + as positive and other as negative) but the third one is for what? when i try to measure voltage across two pins ,i do not get any voltage (these two pins are the one on which battery sits) this makes me to feel that there is no supply coming out , however when i try to measure voltage between third pin and negative i do get voltage, can someone explain this situation ,is my charger not working?

that water in that area also caused problem to the wipers motor... basically it gets the connector wet and looks like the motor is damaged but it is only a wet connector

My front and rear driver's footwells are soaked (MK2 Phase 1). I understand the culprit for the front footwell might be a bad door membrane, what could possibly be the cause of the rear bit getting soaked? Perhaps also a leaky door membrane?

Does anyone know if the metal shaft inside this roller is suppose to have a notch on it? Mine does and I'm trying to determine if that is normal or worn in on it.

Looks like the same components as my km250, except for it’s dead bug construction as opposed to the KM’s PCB circuitry.

THank you for this video. My wife went to use her A901 after it had sat on a shelf for a long time and found the kitchen full of smoke! She thought it best to junk the machune, I don't share her views on this sort of problem. So have now found plenty of UK suppliers of the electronic components and watched this video so decision is made to repair. (I have already repaired her Major but that was a simple motor and gearbox replacement although I have kept the old g/b to replace the probably defective diode so giving me a spare.) My only observation prior to performing the job is that i will disconnect the power supply cable. I have the feeling that the task will be less fiddly with that cable out of the way, resoldering is not going to be a significant extra task.
