One of my favorite commander's. Divine Visitation has won me quite a few games with Shorikai.
that enchantment is sick with shorikai. Love it
Solid work guys. You look tired as heck but looks like you guys had fun. Keep it up
Cheers
I pronounce Ur Dragon as Your Dragon, because that's what it says 🍻
I do love them dragons. Well dragon decks that have no dragons in them at least but, that’s besides the point. You bringing ur dragon to cedh? Let’s see the spiiice
Definitely can get my brother on Shorikai. I will send him this video and hook him up with the primer. Thanks guys!!!
Here to help. Hopefully he enjoys. Seems like a fun deck to try out.
That semifinals game was something else! It was tempt with reflections that gave you the option. My opponents are never supposed to take the offer. It's just another copy spell. I actually took it out of the deck yesterday. That tournament was awesome! I learned so much! I can't wait to compete again!
Levi my man. Thanks for commenting. Excited to see what else you brew up
Very in-depth commentary. Idk if I’ve ever seen a video that brought me this into the experience of the tournament. Thanks guys. Congrats chris
Glad you enjoyed it! Look forward to the top 16 discussion coming next week
This is how Malcolm players are created. You don’t chose Malcolm. Malcolm choses you. 😈the dark side awaits 😈
Just add red they said. Yeah love Malcolm right now. Can’t wait to discuss it with you brother
@@TurningPointMeta It’s gonna be fun. I have pros and cons for all 3 decks and some interacting tech options for them.
I'm putting together that jeskai list now that I've ended my dungeon career lol 😆 so definitely let me in on that Malcolm spice!
@ stay tuned! Episode incoming 😉
@@WaflJester not the dungeon master. Just do sefferis. It’s op esper. Being able to recur uncountable grave hate and loop stiffle bird is bonkers
I think this was a great video. Congrats on top 16. The Malcom deck beating you.. that’s called Karma😉
lol absolutely. The revenge of Malcolm
Yeah.... If you would have let the wheel go thru I was going to answer the godo. LOL. Was a great match trying to get around the blood moon. Thanks for inviting me to my first tournament. I def knew who saw the podcast, was called out in almost every pod. SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN GUYS!!!!
Appreciate it. Loved the turn out
Thanks for the shout out BOYS!!!! Means a lot to me. I'll be seeing you guys at queens and the Flats.
We appreciate you man! 🎉
Of course. And now you’re famous. Yw
Love the series guys!❤
Thank you. Love your content too
This was a great ride! Thanks for the great series.
Stay tuned. Just the first of many playlists. Let us know what you want to see and hear us talk about 🎉
Great stuff. Glad you all left in the fun between you all. Nice to laugh along with you 😂
Us too!
Mogg infestation- i made a copy of the spell by conspire and made 136 goblins Worldfire- casting this holding priority to cast terferi’s protecton 🤭
lol that is sick. that is a crazy one. i love wins that come out of nowhere
Whats the link to the dungeon deck? Im super interested since my main deck is sefris
I hit up Mattie, we’ll post it soon. In the meantime any new spicy includes for sefris? If Mattie doesn’t hit top 16, Chris and him are going to go head to head on dungeons decks at a tournament. Highest placement takes bragging rights
@TurningPointMeta currently testing Currency Converter in the list since it provides additional value plus venture triggers for sefris. My decklist is on Moxfield if you guys want to check it out the name is "Misadventure" by Aias.

Most fun episode I’ve seen from you guys
We had tons of fun for sure
With wishclaw, I have put it out and flickered back to get up to 3 tutors and still end up giving it to someone. At that point I would have my combo in hand. Sometimes its broken. Funny you should mention treasure nabber. Moonsilver key is kinda slept on to get your rocks out.
That is super funny. In that instance wishclaw is waaaaay better then grim. Nice
First comment is still better, but at least it's not by default now 🍻
I like all the comments equally.
First comment, that makes it the best comment.
Gold star
Great vid🔥
Glad you enjoyed

For sure is a fun mono colored deck.
I guess I could've also argued to just counter K'rrik but eh, too far gone now

Chris, thanks for going over the tournament with me! Can't wait to get more recap with you!
@@WaflJester of course. Was fun. Good for our first run at it. Already have some ideas on how to make it better going forward :)
The 1st video was a little quiet, this one is much better. I'm enjoying the podcast though, decided to start from episode 1 and work my way up. Finally gonna try to make the switch from 60 card to CEDH.
@@hardhittamtg lol for sure. I think we got the audio way better now. Some learning curve for sure. Please let us know how it helped when you are done and what other gaps you have questions about. We want to be a channel for people exactly like you so thanks for heads up :)
@@TurningPointMeta It's def better on this episode so no worries. and will do, thanks for the content!
Found out the other day that Mana Drain is your NEXT main phase, in a casual game of all things; i cast Inkshield and my mate responded with Mana Drain. Then said he gets 5 mana 2nd main phase and i embarrassingly tried to correct him 😂
It’s rare they I use it on my own turn. I’d much rather use it on someone else’s turn then untap with all of my pips. Funny story though. We short cut things in our head and at times it comes to bite us.
26:30 well said 👍
Thank you :)
Love the content. You all always show me a unique perspective to a card. Exiling the original copy of brain freeze never came to my mind. Great tips. 🎉
Thanks of course. Love diving into the cards, always fun
Watched, subscribed, liked, commented. Just found you guys, having watched the whole episode you guys have good synergy and show a good knowledge of the meta, perfect 🍻
@@brendans1983 thanks so much. We are enjoying making content to bridge the gap from edh to cedh.
Someone played a board wipe into my dino pantlaza deck and so I Ghostway'd my stuff. Discovered into a Apex Altosaur with Wrathful Raptors on board and Boros Charm in hand. Fought everything on board until the table was dead to direct damage~
lol love it. I love pantlaza but I can never seem to pull the trigger on the deck. Keep up the good fight
Ye my best friend bought the precon for me for Christmas last year. I started sleeving it up and starting going, "why is this in here?" for like 20 cards. So I rebuilt the whole thing taking out any ramp 3cmc and lower and replacing then with Skyshroud Claim effects. As well as any 2cmc and lower mana rocks with 3cmc reducers. The only flicker effects I run are 4cmc as well. I didn't want to discover into a rampant growth or a sol ring, you know? I'd rather get 2 forest cards. Or reduce all my dino costs my 2.
@@kindathorpeople underestimate the Dino. A pretty good cedh deck also
I’m gonna link this video in my discord I really like it and I think it’s a similar demographic. My guys are cedh players backing up or casual players stepping up. Seems like a natural fit w these types of videos
Thanks man. We’ve all been at a point where we are learning something new. If we can smooth the divide, that’s where we will be at.
Gamble is amazing. The neat trick for me is to use a non basic land like buried ruins to cover your butt if your running Mono red. Either way you fetch a One ring and even if you discard you still get it.
@@tokugawajones3504 mono decks are always great to run more utility lands. I think they came out with another buried ruin effect for lands also recently. Urza’s cave is nice for that as well to get the land.
Yep I take quite a few breaks a lot of online mtg players. Are quite toxic but find the right group it's great though I am sadly on a 10 game loosing streak I do miss commander in 2021 it was a incredibly fun year
With all of the bans, the game does feel like an older time for sure. Slightly slowed down. I’m enjoying it so far.
You found your way into my shorts feed. 🎉
Glad we could entertain.
Been looking forward to the blue episode since the green episode. There is a much wider range of play in casual than you guys seem to have experienced.
I think we’ve mostly played low power in edh. I know some content creators that love to play budget cedh which seems like a fun idea. For me and my friends, I’ll play a pre-con to give myself a challenge and have a chill time. We’ll be having a part two for cedh side of it but blue and black are sooooo deep on what they can do. Lots to say and little time to fit into an episode before it becomes a novel ;)
@@TurningPointMeta As a Yuriko pilot I was pretty happy you did not try and cram it all in one episode.
@@benjamingerry1752yw
I know I'm someone who ends up spite playing, and it's something I genuinely need to work on. I end up targeting Chris all the time because I know how intelligent he is and what he's capable of, regardless of what the board state is like, because I know he can pull a win out of nowhere and I haven't figured out his tempo. It's not something that I would be able to learn in a tourney setting because of time, but as you all have taught me, sometimes you need to stop, take a moment, breathe, and analyze the board state to make more rational decisions. It's your time as much as it is theirs, and that'll help to end potentially spite playing. Sorry Chris. 🥲
12:18 another thing as I'm watching through this is that we've got our close-knit group where, for instance, Bruce will jokingly say someone's a big threat at a table before even sitting down and we'll rag on each other a lot, but we KNOW what each other plays like. If someone sits down and they don't know us like that, they will 100% gain that preconceived notion and it's no longer a joke, they took that as a warning to a serious threat. So while we can make jokes like that all day with each other, it can potentially become a detriment. Even people listening in our overhearing a conversation not related to the game at hand can gain that mentality of "watch out for this guy" not knowing it was meant in jest. Also, I want to note that it's not just Bruce that does this; He's someone who comes to mind because I've been party to a conversation like that, but he's certainly not the first, and definitely won't be the last.
All good. As long as we can grow as a community and continue to have a conversation with an open line of communication we will become better politicians and players.
It’s for sure a unique dilemma in a game. It’s the first time in magic where it is a thing. I think being able to control your poker face, decisions, sequencing and overall feel of the game is what makes CEDH so dynamic and fun. Very complex and always lots to learn for all of us.
Since its the fall season time to give out the pumpkin pie recipe! Equipment Pie Pan Ingredients For the Pumpkin Pie: ▢1 9-inch Homemade pie crust , or store-bought, deep dish, unbaked ▢3/4 cup granulated sugar ▢1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ▢1/2 teaspoon salt ▢1/2 teaspoon ground ginger ▢1/4 teaspoon ground cloves ▢2 large eggs ▢15 ounce can canned pumpkin or fresh pumpkin puree ▢12 ounce can evaporated milk Instructions Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a large bowl beat the eggs and pumpkin together. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves, and add to pumpkin mixture. Gradually stir in the evaporated milk. Carefully pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees F for for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350° F; bake for 40 to 50 minutes longer, or until the pie is set. Check for doneness by giving the pie a gentle wiggle. The center may jiggle just a tiny bit. It will continue to set up as it cools. Or, it is done when a sharp knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire cooling rack. Serve immediately with whipped cream and caramel pecan topping, if desired.

I'm still relatively new to cEDH and I know you have noticed. I still dont fully understand the flow and unwritten rules of the format. I feel that I am that player that does things without understanding. I am still trying to figure out the politicking for things and what is a good play or not. I try to ask info as much as possible when possible. I appreciate you guys vidz. Dreadz, this is that kind of minecraft server.... Thanks a bunch guys!!!!
There for sure is a learning curve for sure. Unwritten rules of the format. Nice I might look into that and see if we can talk about all the unwritten rules
Dude we appreciate you! Watching the new players come in and learn these skills and become better players. Always ask any questions!
@@TurningPointMeta Protocol, mutual understandings, etc is what I meant by unwritten rule. Sorry for confusion lol.
Spite Plays is honestly one of my favorite parts of 4 player free for all formats. I guess all I can defend spite plays is that I’m not playing to win…l’m playing to have fun. And for me, interactions based on spite are fun. Makes the “battle” feel more personal. In which winning the spite battle is more satisfying than actually winning. However talk to your playgroup. It all depends on the player. Some players don’t want to deal with mean and salty plays. It’s a game that every different player has different expectations of.
Conversations behind expectations is a good point. Some people want to just chill and enjoy the game, others are practicing for an event. That’s why it’s important to ask questions of the other person, when you feel comfortable enough to do so. I don’t care for spite plays myself, not trying to make it personal. Spite plays are emotionally driven that don’t encourage the best plays.
@@TurningPointMeta agreed. Spite plays aren’t based on any sort of logic in progressing your win. I’m lucky enough to have a playgroup that expects these spite plays every so often in a game. If anything, I’d say my playgroup plays more spiteful against the deck(commander) rather than the actual player.
@@seanwechsler6783makes a lot of sense. And some decks like Rog si you have to hold interaction for or you die.
As a fellow Magda player who's known for winning most of the cEDH events at my LGS, here's what I do when I encounter situations like this. I play off-curve, forcing opponents to interact with each other rather than with me. All I really need is 5 to 10 treasures to win, and my deck has plenty of removal to help control the board. When spite plays happen, I take a moment to pause and ask why the play was made, then offer my own read of the game state. At that point, I shift from my primary game plan to Plan B, which is often to get the other players to interact with each other while I position myself for a win.
Communication is key for sure. Thanks for the information.
Appreciate the insight especially from another Magda player. Decks that run the KOI commanders and definitely ones that you need have that good backup plan.
Love it. Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
i can see a lot of secret dislike at LGS's that ive been to. always want to have fun with people instead of making a hostile environment
It’s just a game T the end of the day
sometimes people are afraid of other players instead of dealing with the board state
I think k we get better if e can separate the two
What do you believe is the best way to deal with that?
thanks for the information man
You bet
Do you have any other questions we can answer or address?
with grace toward the other person. love it
Got to watch out for others
Little fancier recipe today! Creme Brulee Ingredients 1 extra-large egg 4 extra-large egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon for each serving 3 cups heavy cream 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier) Directions Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mix the egg, egg yolks, and 1/2 cup of the sugar together on low speed until just combined. Meanwhile, scald the cream in a small saucepan until it's very hot to the touch but not boiled. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the cream to the eggs. Add the vanilla and orange liqueur and pour into 6 to 8-ounce ramekins until almost full. Place the ramekins in a baking pan and carefully pour boiling water into the pan to come halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the custards are set when gently shaken. Remove the custards from the water bath, cool to room temperature, and refrigerate until firm. To serve, spread 1 tablespoon of sugar evenly on the top of each ramekin and heat with a kitchen blowtorch until the sugar carmelizes evenly. Allow to sit at room temperature for a minute until the caramelized sugar hardens.
Very tasty, just like the episode. .
Just FYI, for def sure Blash act is often played in Godo.

Hey guys! I wanted to reach out and say hello again and I also wanted to ask.. If you may be interested in a collaboration at some point.. some of my guys in my Stomping Ground discord (budget competituve) finally got a pod to fire from the discord to spelltable. First time we actually got that to come together. So if this gets going and we have regular games I was thinking maybe a tourney? Then I talked to some of my friends and we talked about potentially a team tourney. Budget comp? 4 man teams Ideally 4 teams? I was gonna ask TimmyT2000 from the nexus and Budget Brews, you all, and maybe the guys from the pdh world like Puzzlebox and Pappa Pauper? To be clear I am talking about a budget comp not pauper tourney. Pauper makes me want to jump out a window 😖 I’d rather play monopoly. $100 max is “a turn 4 format” that is, the proactive decks will usually threaten their first win on turn 4. The games move at a great clip. No 90 minute Rhstic study fueled free interaction induced stale mates Not asking for a legit answer Just wonder if there’s any intrest?
I play ob nix and I love the speed that red gives you. There have been some awesome cards in red that been printed for it. Red is far from dead and one of my favorite colors. Thanks for sharing, love the new intro and keep of the videos. You all are killing it 🎉
