Victron inverters with IFTTT - How to control a IOT device based on your inverter output
Using a Victron Venus Gx to control a Sonoff Switch (or any IOT device) based on the output current being drawn. This video uses VRM, IFTTT, Gmelius, and Ewelink.

    Awesome video. Am trying to automate switching off certain appliances as they are connected to my essential load (ie my pool pump circuit) . So if grid is lost I want to read the email notification and then get ifttt to switch off pool pump and heat pump ewelink devices. Do I use the same method you are using?

      Hi there, IFFT has changed their policy so now its a paid service. I would recommend using a mini and creating a scene with that. I see now I HAVE to make that video. I will try and complete it next week.

    Hi all, so after a week of having this work, I didn't realize that I was using a Gmelius trial version. I have managed to get it to work again but this time using a bit more of a full proof design. To summerise it, I use a programmable relay on the Victron and set the conditions to close and open accordingly. I then use a spare Sonoff mini and created a scene that when the mini turns on, it turns the others off/on. I found this to be the simplest and definitely the least time-consuming, If you want me to make a video explaining this please let me know. Regards Ewald

    wrong method why positive angle for poles? your method works for onlly those case where net angle 180(2k+1) and angle of pole on the right side of root locus is zero

      Muhammad Saad Tariq you will see I explain that it should be negative. But it makes no difference because all of them are negative. You can include the signs if you want and you will get the same answer

    For the third angle (theta p3) can't you simply take 180-69=111 degrees? I think you solved it correctly but you drew the theta lying in the 69 degrees sharp angle instead of it going from zero degrees on the x-axis to 111 degrees. Thanks for the video it is quite relieving!

      +Nelis Brink You definitely can, but this only works for when you have a pole at the origin. But with that said if you have 5 poles, with one being at the origin, your calculator will pull amps to solve that, so if you can simplify its life by saying one of the angles will be 111 degrees, it will speed up the computational time greatly.

    Howzit, I realised I made a mistake solving for the gain in the first part, I typed +15 in my calculator instead of +12 This with the fact that I made my sigma positive gave me a way off answer. The gain should have been is 248.68. Sorry for the mistake.
