My husband passed away 7 years ago, and the Spirit told me “ you’ve had 2 and 1/2 years to grieve for Brent, now it is time to focus on The Savior”. I’ve worked on doing that these past near 5 years! Although my Christmas song I love is “ He’ll Be Home for Christmas, if Only in My Dreams! “ The Lord has blessed me with some beautiful experiences with him , these past 7 years! To be honest, I would welcome one hour church. As a whole, I cannot count on my youth actually hearing the gospel in their classes. It's full of "Jesus approves of everything you do/want." If you refer to what scriptures and what prophets & apostles have said, you are accused, by the leadership of being judgemental. There is open disdain for the temple and the ordinances there, etc. It truly is tragic. 😣

Mormonism adds so many things to do into their religion, but it is all so very simple. You must trust in Jesus Christ; He then clothes you with His righteousness and aligns you with the Father. He fills you with His love and attributes so you can become like Him, if you believe in the true Jesus Christ of the bible. His work is sufficient, no need to add temples, priesthoods, garments, etc, Jesus is enough.

Lili...I love that you let the Holy Spirit guide...which has led to your being a Jewel in His Crown. Thank you for standing for truth, even when it is "inconvenient." You say so many things that all of us would say, if we listened to that same spirit.

Oh Lili, my heart hurts for you. I know those feelings of having to make decisions on your own for the first time. My first husband passed away 11 years ago when my boys were 12 & 17. Being left to make those decisions for me and my family was so hard, but also brought me closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father than ever before. I'm praying for you as you navigate life now ❤

The purpose of having us be able to fellowship at church is that some of us are not good at making social contacts ourselves. The Lord has healed part of my broken brain, but not all of it. I'm still not at a point where I can easily call people and talk with them or set up appointments to visit. I'm a good ministering sister, but no one wants or needs anything from me. I certainly hope that we never go to 1 hour. Going to 2 hours was hard enough for me. || I'm so sorry for the health problems and challenges you've had. This has been a very, very difficult year for me. The Lord through His Spirit kept counseling me to rest, and learn, and do as much family history as I could in lieu of being more active. The person I relied on for emotional support has become untrustworthy, which has broken my heart. And yes, the brain fog is real, as I've worked at getting my medication just right. When you throw stress, and mourning, and health issues together, life can be very difficult, and so I have some small understanding of how you're feeling. God bless you. Thank you for all your efforts. My efforts, too have been small this year, but the Lord is pleased with us that we keep trying to submit our will to His, and accept His timing and His help. I wish you all the best; I'm glad you have so many people to support you. P,S, - I caused a car accident today. I'm not hurt, and I don't have to replace my car,. But life can sure be hard. I had finally found the energy to do my errands, and then I missed the lane I was aiming for when I made a turn. Without the Lord's comforting help in this, I'd still be a basket case. How lucky we are to have Him to help us..

Thank you for a special post. It is a dark world in these days. Our Government foe England and Wales has just voted to legalise Assisted Dying, or what it should be called Assisted Suicide/Murder. These days are very low indeed.

I love your son's perspective on your strength can also be your weakness and vice versa. My daughter, when she was young, was very stubborn, but I had had a professor at BYU who taught me this same thing in our Child Development class. I realized that stubbornness could also become persistence, and it did. My daughter stuck to a task until it was done. There have been times where she's reached for the stars, and not made it, but she would grab the moon in her attempts.

The verse indicates that God gave us weakness, singular, not plural. We are weak. We are human. We were made that way in order to access, through Jesus Christ, the things we need to learn to become like Him. The scripture doesn't say God gave us weaknesses. He may have, but that particular verse emphasizes that we are weak. We are not strong, until it's through Jesus Christ.
