1. She's got experience 2. She's got looks 3. She knows what sells
she's so annoying though
Explaining her accent on visuals was kinda... self-referential and meta.
Very well made video. Was absolutely shocked when I looked at the viewer count and subscriber count; I would’ve thought this was a TH-cam veteran. Keep up the great work.
Very well animated and informational! You always feel more confidant in creator when they are applying in real time the strategies they are teaching. Thank you!
Commenting so this video gets more attention
Actually if you looked closer she actually got most of her views by doing shorts. She got subscribers via shorts, and she funneled them into her documentary videos. That put a fucking booster on her videos. Do you think it makes sense for her vids to go viral all the time? Even if your vids are good it doesn’t make sense to immediately go viral consistently without fail. Look at her sub count. It doesn’t make sense to get 5 Million subs with her view count but if you include her shorts with couple hundred million views, suddenly it makes sense. She’s a master funnel creator. Check your numbers next time.
How does this have such a low view count.😢
Very solid video, how’d you make the visuals?
Beauty is creator of the ugly and the prison of the ugly and its eventual death.
bsd spoilers?
I’d prefer a pragmatic perspective. Life is ugly and hopeless. One person’s perspective can never change how the world truly looks.
I thought the same when I saw her. My world.
Wow. This was the best video I ever saw re: Dostoyevsky
I really enjoyed your analysis - and thanks for reading my thesis!
the guy himself! thanks a lot for giving such high quality and thought provoking videos, for free!
Thank you for all the great work you do!
A lot of these things that @veritasium is doing is part of the rules for good intros and the rules for good videos explained by Linus in this interview: th-cam.com/video/nmNzEf7dXsw/w-d-xo.html
as one of veritasium's animators im offended for 0:33 😤😤 kidding of course :D this is a brilliant video!!
Thank you. And just to be clear your animations are incredible! I'd love to be able to animate like that one day...
Woah! Complimenti! Le animazioni sono sempre fantastiche! Come ci sei finito a lavorare da Veritasium? 😂
all the beauty of the universe is in Pyongyang and we even know its name. so there is no need to listen to a Korean who made his way to the States, who explains the "philosophy" of the best friend of the Korean people)))
37-mentioned✅️
i have watched a funny amount of veritasium videos but at best i can only remember what 2 of videos are about
I watch a lot of science videos and documentaries and while I don't remember all of them, the knowledge pops up when you need it like "Oh wait I've heard of this!!". Kinda like people that read a ton of books, if they'd remember everything they'd be genius and yet most bookworms are not that incredibly smart. It's all about the attitude and the content you choose I guess!
@@gabryx7 well i guess thats true cuz it does pop up but not these videos maybe that's what I know for sure
Quality content spotted, you‘re gonna have success on youtube! 👍🏼
Unfortunately, that alone is not really how it works anymore.
First time watching you. Loved your video
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Welcome to the channel!
This is quality content!! and its criminal for you to only have 20K subscribers! I'm sure it'll chnage soon keep up the good work my dude
I think maybe add more time at the end of the video please. I sat through it all listening, and almost didnt give it a like, cause it autoplayed a different video i was v excited to see. There was no silence indicating end of video, which i would need to register the fact the video is over Just a tip idk if its just good for me tho
Interesting perspective and analysis !
Haha, I see what you did there! Integrating all in this video :) And no ads at the end rather than in the middle gives that "a portion of this video was sponsored by" vibe that Veritasium gives. He too puts them at the end
More Dostoyevsky videos pls
great video!
5:03 It sounds true, but in a way it's also misleading If you only show a visual, the viewer focuses on whatever he wants to But when you convince an extra explanation,, whether through audio or animation, it's essentially like the gorilla basketball experiment - the viewer will only concentrate through that narrow POV
I'm not sure I agree that it's misleading. I would take into consideration dual channel processing in our working memory. We can simultaneously take in information from from multiple sensory inputs without being overloaded. I didn't include this detail for the sake of brevity and simplicity. I am aware that multimedia sources can also increase the level of extraneous cognitive load. That's why I tried to be careful in my wording and used words like "possible" "can" "could". My point was Derek from Veritasium uses this knowledge effectively in his videos to decrease (some amount of) extraneous cognitive load. Hope that clears some things up.
Great explanation.
Thank you.
This video about to break the TH-cam Algorithm
If informative were a pizza, this video would be an extra large. With bacon.
who edited that
honestly, i feel lucky because /my/ internet as i use it is a pretty inspiring and interesting place! somehow the YT algorithm mostly recommends me long essays on philosophy and psychology, vlogs from artists or people who decide to live their life intentionally, and... recipes. i even get to engage in interesting conversations in the comments! some people do get reactive, but it's not the majority. it's comforting that there are people trying to nurture sincere beauty, depth and curiosity on here! let's not forget, besides all of its downsides and big tech companies not having its users' best interest in mind, that the internet is an incredible resource of knowledge and connection, where we can spread ideas and advices from single person to single person at the other side of the world thanks for participating in that!
Racism?
He seems like a regular conservative fella to me
Video starts from here 3:44
No. Life is pain. Beauty is corruptible. Life is a nightmare and my dreams are reality. I want to be chopped up when I die and thrown in the garden so I can finally grow something. 😂
This could've been one of the greatest TH-cam videos of all time if it was like 20 minutes, criminally underrated either way
GOD and only GOD
Great video, but please stop doing those sharp color changes. It’s destroying my eyes😭😭🙏🏾🙏🏾
Honestly, this video is just blah blah blah. I don't know if it's part of something bigger, but there are no links to it. Even an AI can make such a video, just outline a concept and not offer any specific ideas.
Your just hating ngl
This is the type of content we need on the Internet to keep it alive! Keep it up, people like you are making the future of the internet hopeful.
Never seen a comment section that proves the dead internet theory so well
How so?
I think it's more of a psychological thing rather than being dead Internet. When you look outside of your little bubble of your life you see people of different ethnicity and backgrounds, different lives and jobs. But when you think about it they are a bit like npcs to you that you walk by and never see again. In a sense it's probably like that on the internet
the video's message and the channel are good, but the comment section so far did concern me! where are the human viewers?
@meiorai to another person you would seem like a robot
@ i don't think so, really? i mean, unlike what you said, i don't see other people i cross in the street and don't know as robots or npcs, even if they're not an active part of my life. they're just people i don't know about, but i can see their expression and energy, the way they dress, sometimes how they interact with others in small moments. sometimes my attention isn't on them because it's too focused elsewhere, but it wouldn't be the same if they were all robots. thinking otherwise is just overthinking in the void of a thought experiment. i said that about the comment section in kind of a jest, because a lot of sentences there are kinda generic and someone else drove my attention towards it, there's not a lot of real discussions? and i'm sure in a way you're right, in that a lot of interactions on the internet are surface-level, but there are also a lot of genuine bot accounts :') maybe the thing to retain from all that is that it brings a little more depth and humanity when people take time to share their thoughts on the internet and exchange with others in more meaningful ways?
Great content. Slight correction at 3:20. You say he comes home to Russia. He was sent to Siberia, which is just a region of Russia. So he didn't return to Russia, he was already there
*Spoiler!!! 🤬
Dostoevsky is from a Christian perspective. It's not the only one. Four Noble truths of Buddhism.
Cogito ergo sum
Mate it’s this type of content that gives me a reason to live, love your work
