INCONCEIVABLE! 155-Year-Old CIVIL WAR ERA Rusty Axe Head Tool Restoration in 4K! BURIED UNDERGROUND!
Today we restore an axe from the time of the American Civil War. For more information about the history of this axe, please watch the video. I include it all there.
Sorry that it has been a while since the last upload. My main issue is that I am trying to film nicer video for you all and doing it in 4K but my old computer simply couldn’t handle the video. I had to build a new computer from scratch. This took both time and money - a lot of both. I’m hoping that you’ll all agree with me that it’s worth it.
Find me on Instagram - stevensfix - throughout the restoration of this axe I posted photos of the progress. I’ve also started a Twitter account - stevensfix -. You can also email me stevensfix@XXXXX.com (replace the x’s with gmail). I realize that in my other videos I had my email address wrong so if you wrote to me and I didn’t respond, it’s not personal, I’m just a dumb-dumb.
Feel free to tweet out to @Evapo_Rust on your favorite social medias and ask them to send Steven’s Fix some free Evapo-Rust. Don’t forget to tag me in your post.

GROSS 70-Year-Old Juice-O-Mat Juicer Perfect Restoration from the ATOMIC AGE!
มุมมอง 39K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Skip the talking 1:32 This juicer is from the early 1950s and in the style of the Atomic Age. It looks like it came right out of the Jetsons. The top of the juicer was badly frosted with scratches and took a long time to make it look nice again. In the process, I sanded/polished though most of the original chrome - because of this, I’ll never be able to get it to a mirror finish. I got close th...

WWI Trench War Art - 100 Year Old Brass Bullet Lighter Restoration
มุมมอง 70K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is of a WWI trench art brass bullet lighter. Trench art was what soldiers made while waiting to fight. The earliest reference to a lighter that looks like this is 1909. They were made in Canada, France and other countries up until the 1940s. A soldier would order them or be sent one from a loved one and would decorate it themselves. This one has a very fine flower pattern on the ligh...
100 Years of TAPE Removal! Perfect Antique Screwdriver Restoration with new Lathe Turned Handle!
มุมมอง 18K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I restore a 100 year old screwdriver. The handle on this screwdriver was mummified with multiple layers of cloth tape and shellac over a century ago when the wooden handle split in two. There's also some curious red staining on the outer layer of tape. Was this a weapon? Don't forget to comment, subscribe, like and hit the bell so you know when a new video goes live. With this vid...
IMPOSSIBLE 250 Year Old Colonial Rusty Hammer Restoration - Buried Under Ground Since The 1700's!
มุมมอง 6M4 ปีที่แล้ว
Restoration of a 250 year old rusted out colonial hammer head. This was found in Chazy, New York. I am not new to restorations but I am new to filming them so please take the footage with a grain of salt. I will get better. I did not want to make it look like a brand new hammer but I did want to make it smooth and straight enough to be a usable hammer. The handle was inspired by several 1700 st...

I wasn’t sure at first, but that’s the hammer my great, great, great, grandfather lost when he was in New York.

250 years old? I don't buy it. The way it looks it's obvious to anyone that the hammer is likely to be about 248 years old! 😎

Great job! Good you left some holes and cracks in there, not making it brand new 👍🏻

Would this axe head been more valuable history wise in it's cleaned original condition before grinding it all away?

Never heard of calcified rust. Isn't it simply rust? Rust is simply oxidized iron.

Great job!!!! So I recently aquired one and would likento restore as well for use. Im having a difficult time confirming what material the cup and cone are made of. I am assuming cast aluminum. Is this correct? I asl be asue cast aluminum commonly had lead in it amd my son is itching to use it. What are your thoughts?

I personally appreciate the fact that you restored this to as new condition. You didn’t just clean it up. Besides the fact that it is yours to do with as you please. Now you can work with it or show it off. Antiquarians be damned.

That looks outstanding 🤩🤩 With that texture of the iron the axe looks like made of bark, like some kind of magic wood from The Lord of the Rings 😍

The best part of this video is what you did not do Sir. You did not fill in the pits with a spot of weld or putty. To make it look new. You let the historic nature and age stand out. Thank You and HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Check your countries history that's not 250years. The USA was forbidden to have tools by the Brits. Claw hammers were the advent of metal nails by blacksmiths. I'm guessing 80 years tops looking at that design.

Well, I can't tell you what to do, so I'll tell you what I would do. It has no value at all as it is. If it were a nice serviceable file, it would be worth $1 at a flea market (Southern US). I would either turn it into a chisel as some one in the past attempted or like you said make it into a knife.

Wow!!! You are a magician! Or a miracle worker!!! That is amazing. I never thought you could renew the chrome/metal like that. Came across this because I would like a juice o mat and I wondered about repainting it if I do get one. But this was a zillion times greater than I could imagine for restoration. You, are a patient man! That was just BEAUTIFUL! I would love that for my limes and lemons. I know this was three years ago, but congrats on a job more than well done!!!
