So isn't it hurting Animals is out of your religion's rules bro. See mostly we eat vegetables..when we eat vegetables they will grow back again..we r not killing the plant..but animals are not like that.. if cute the head or limbs they will not grow back... it's not about pain.. it's about right of living.

What if a Mosquito enters your mouth do you have the intention to kill the mosquito and eat it ? In Buddhism always intension is seen not the food . Lot of people i think do not know that in the ancient india there were 2 main traditions ..1)vedic -which today so called hindusim is influenced by. ..and second is 2) Shramanic which included buddhism, jainism and both of these tradition were completely diffrent....infact buddha rejected the vedas because of its rituals animal sacrifice , caste system and heavily relying on gods......

I am sorry to tell you this, but saying "when you buy meat, you are technically killing the animal" that is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. Respect the teachings of Buddhism and listen to the advice of the monk. Someone who is more highly regarded within Buddhism than yourself, therefore giving the most knowledgeable answer. If I was to buy meat for someone else to eat, I am NOT killing the animal. The slaughter house workers did that. NOT YOU. You are simply buying a product. Also the reason most Buddhists are vegetarians, is because Buddhism was founded in India, a famously vegetarian country! But as the monk said, the Cow is a sacred and treasured animal in india. Hence why meat is not eaten there. Your opinion sounds very entitled to me. If a monk, says that it is okay to eat meat, but not advised, then follow the monks opinion as he is more knowledgeable about Buddhist beliefs than you, respect that opinion. Unless you are implying you know better, or you are even a monk yourself?

Secondly, how can you be killing the animal.. WHEN you buy meat. The animal is already killed and the meat is already prepared when you make the decision to go out and buy some meat....

Moon walk what the monk mean is.. Buddha emphasised on non vegetarian and is considered a highest virtue in buddhism.. But in buddha's time and today in many monastic tradition monks go on alms and they accept everything given by lay follower to eat except some poisous food... Monks don't go to directly to buy meat from butcher shop...

Do you believe in God? I am indian buddhist. We are anti god. Therefore Hinduism and Buddhism are in conflict in India. Hindu believe in God, caste system, untouchability, superstition.

Would be better to train compassion and avoid meat, But if u have to consume at least avoid to see / hear the killing of animals to be consumed, ones you order to be killed eg seafood
