Smash Burger - Turkey Burger - Will it change your life?
Today we attempted to make smash burgers with ground turkey. After a bad experience with Bubba turkey burgers I wanted to give it another shot. I found some recipes that recommended to add cold butter chopped up into the ground turkey so that is what we did. Not sure it was as good as they were claiming, but it was a little more satisfying than the impossible burger and definitely tasted better than the Bubba Version.

Alright we are back at it again trying to make the restaurant quality impossible burger at home. We broke out the flattop to see if we could replicate the crispy smash burger texture of the Red Robin and Applebee's version. Not sure we did it justice, but watch to see our conclusion.

This morning we have a special treat. We are whipping up some tasty little breakfast sandwiches with the Impossible Sausage Patties. Are they any good? We are certainly going to find out and tell you what we think. Once again I can no longer eat red meat so we are looking for alternatives to our favorite meat based foods. Follow me and enjoy my journey through the world of fake meat!

In my quest to find the best non-beef burger I decided to test the Applebee's version of the impossible burger. After a frustrating 45 minute wait I finally got it. Luke warm when I got home, which is 4 minutes from the restaurant and the results were pretty shocking.

Tonight I attempted Vegan Jerky. I can no longer eat red meat due to an allergy so I am looking for alternative options to meat based products that I can no longer eat. I tried vegan jerky to see if it would be a good supplement and even with some camera issues I think you will get my reaction and true feelings.

Nobody cooks the meat and onions/peppers at the same time in Philly steak shops. The onions are always slightly caramelized and meat is chopped as it cooks to develop the sear.

I have been on this journey for years. I know the pain. Ironically, I bought that impossible sausage loaf a while back and I had a similar experience. It tasted like it could have been good but there was something funky going on that made it taste weird. I haven't tried these patties yet but that loaf experience has me hesitating. I have really liked the impossible burgers from restaurants so I was pretty disappointed in the sausage. I do have a couple decent suggestions for you if you haven't tried them yet. The Beyond breakfast sausage patties are pretty good (I prefer the spicy variety). Even better are the Beyond breakfast sausage links (not the big dinner brats/Italian links). If you can find the Beyond breakfast sausage links those are probably the best I have found (again I prefer spicy variety if you can find them). My local grocery stopped carrying them for some reason but I think you can still get them at Whole Foods.

Good rant. I seriously don't get it either. When I make my impossible burgers at home, they are....WAY worse than the ones I get at restaurants. I do NOT understand it. The Impossible Burger "at the store" is the same underlying product as what's in the Burger King products. The only difference is the shape, how it is seasoned, and how it is cooked. As you'll know, Burger King's patties are very thin and they flame broil them... and they should be well done. Impossible Burger is available in two retail forms... pre-made patties, and ground block (for lack of a better term). I've had both... and for me... the thinkness of the pre-made patties is too thick. If the pattie is two thick when cooking (and I always just pan fry at home on an electric eye oven)... then the middle of the cooked pattie is noticeably soft and less meat-burger like. If I make a fairly thin patty (and hey, I like both beef burgers and Impossible burgers WELL DONE) and cook it, it isn't so soft in the middle and the texture is more like a beef burger to me. Your mileage may vary. Again, a lot depends on how you shape it, how you cook it, how you season it, and what condiments you put on it when put on a bun. So, you can do more like Burger King does if you want, and you'll get closer to what Burger King provides... although most of us can't flame-broil at home. So Impossible Burgers done at home can be less like a beef burger or more like a beef burger depending on the factors I mentioned. I've been making them and eating them at home for a couple of years now and I like them better than beef burgers these days. They definitely smell different (raw and when cooking) but when all done up, like you mentioned with the Impossible Whooper, if someone isn't told it's Impossible, they likely won't even notice.

You need to try them at Carl's Jr., TGI Friday's, Eat'n Park, and Burger King because for some reason they taste much better at those restaurants than when you cook them at home.

I bought a shepherd like dog with low energy besides my GSP. it really helped him balancing out his energy. Your video is spot on. I always have to walk with him for like an hour in the morning and in the evening. Also going for a ride with bike or running for like three times for 30-40 minutes a week. And i think thats the bare minimum.

I have had 2 GSP. Great dogs. Mine though were very good watch dogs certainly. As for guard dogs both stood up when they needed to. My first, a male showed good protective traits when needed. Totally controlled but stood his ground. As for other dogs he got along with all but if attached would defend himself. Looking for another one now

They will scare strangers coming to your house by their bark! I had a guy stop by when it was just me and the kids wanting gas and seemed shafty. That guy jumped back from the door when our GSP started barking. That dog would protect our kids if somehting was trying to harm them! I’ve seen him protect them, and it’s not something we’ve trained him to do! He just loves his family

  • @noneyun9943

BTW, try dockdogs! Took me 2 weeks to get him in the water, and after that he picked up dockdogs in a day! He now drags us to the pool if he see it, and will go nuts if you say dockdogs! My daughter earned an invite to championship and came in 4th the year before last one. He and majority of GSP’s do great at dockdogs and it’s loads of fun! Great times with your dog and people, while entertaining those that haven’t seen a GSP go nuts for a pool

  • @noneyun9943

I had english pointers growing up since my dad was a trainer for bird dog trials. Also had rat terrier, collie, and several others. We picked a GSP for our daughter’s first dog,and thankfully we own our business and I could bring him to the office. I had to do retrieve work with him every two hours like clockwork, or the GSP would go nuts. He is a little more mellow now that he turned 7. My daughter now does dockdogs with him, and he could do that nonstop for 2 hours straight, and she has. This breed does not tire! He is our “cray cray dog”. We can’t leave balls out because he will bring me balls every minute If we left balls outs. He now sleeps with her and he is a great protector for her! She now has a whippet too, and that GSP will be her favorite dog for the rest of her life! She loves her GSP, and yes they have nonstop energy, so if you want to do dog sports, or hunt then you probably should pick another dog

Something you missed to mention about a GSP is they're a very gentle dog. Mine has no aggression at all. Unless your a rabbit. Also that they do feign deafness at times. I note at the beginning of your video when you called Jackson and I thought. Yep called... ignored.. check yes GSP. I don't hunt but walk mine in an open hilly area with lots of rabbit and that gives her good exercise.
